Unfortunately the bathroom is outside and shared. Not convenient when need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night or when you need to go to the toilet and that there’s someone in the shower. A bit expensive for a shared bathroom but everything is expensive in bora 😅

Location was great and room & bed was great. Plenty of space, nice view. Perfect for a stay in Bora bora. + possible to rent a car or a scooter with the owners. The owner was nice.

Nice accommodation 3 or 4 minute walk from a (public) beautiful beach. There are free bicycles for our use. Bora Bora is flat (the road around the island) so riding a bike is nice. In the room there is a fridge and two seats with a coffee table facing the ocean. Everything was super clean. The owner is always willing to help. There is a mini-market very close by as well as a restaurant. A little further to the right (when you leave the street where Matira house is located) there is a larger supermarket.

We had a wonderful stay at Matira House! Very close to one of the matira beach entrances (best beach on bora bora), a few restaurants, and a supermarket. Just what we needed! To top it off the host, Heiura, was very helpful and made it a pleasant stay! We look forward to coming back again in the future!

Location to the beach was fantastic, we often took the free bicycles for the day to hang out at the most beautiful beach on the island. We walked across to happy hr at the Intercontinental; and bought pastries for breakfast at the closest supermarket. Our host was superb in every way, great service and excellent communicator. Always helpful and friendly. Wonderful new air conditioner in the room. If you’re looking for a unique budget experience in Bora Bora then house 3 or 4 are the perfect choice.

Great Airbnb to stay if you want to see Bora Bora on a cheap budget. Beautiful family that are super nice and caring. I would rent there again if i ever get to go again. Thanks for everything Matira House :)

I had a wonderful stay at this pension in Bora Bora. The location is fantastic, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the only public beach on the island, which is absolutely stunning. There are also a few nearby restaurants, bars, and supermarkets for snacks and essentials. The room was extremely clean, with a comfortable bed, a fridge, and a water boiler. Despite not having air conditioning, the efficient fan kept the room cool. The view from the first floor is beautiful—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee while looking out at the ocean. The owner, Heiura, was incredibly kind and helpful, even arranging for me to see her own doctor when I had an ear infection. She keeps the property spotless and provides free bicycles for guests to use. Scooters are also available for rent. The property is quiet, with a lovely external shower that has plenty of hot water. Her family is very friendly, and their cat and dog add a cozy touch. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay, and I highly recommend it!

large clean room with good bed and a small fridge and a ventilator. The shared bathroom is also clean and has hot water. First convenience store is just 5 min on foot, but If you can walk 10 min, the second one is better. Matira beach is fine but better to go at the beach bar where you have good drinks and the beach is even better.

Amazing location, right next to Matira Beach. Free bikes to use and it’s only 500 meters to the beach, shop and some restaurants. Basic accommodation but clean and very comfortable bed. Shared bathroom is outside and downstairs. We had views of the lagoon and mountains from our room. Great fast wifi. Super helpful host, arranged the taxis to and from the airport for 2000xfp each way.

Nothing really!

The view & location; i could see the beautiful mountain of Bora Bora through one of the windows and the lagoon through another window. It makes a difference that when you wake up you get the ocean breeze and look through the window and see the wonderful view of the mountain. On the other hand, the location is great; it is very close to the white sandy beach of Matira. Also the host is friendly and super helpful.

Places are about People, and HEIURA 🌺 (owner) make difference, really supporting and taking care for your staying in the place and beyond addressing for activities. I found really good the point you can rent car or motorcycle in the place to moving. Location is perfect to walking places, and Matira Beach is your key point in bora bora, and helping to arrange w/ taxi for pickup and departure. You have sea view in the morning 😊.

Staying with Heiura and her family was a great experience! Our double room was really big, had a nice view towards the lagoon and the mountains while being only footsteps away from the beach. The location within Matira couldn‘t be any better. There are bicycles that you can take for free and we also rented a really good e-scooter to explore the island. Besides, we could store our baggage throughout the day before we left Bora Bora and Heiura helped us with organising the transport. It was a truly great vacation home!

You get a neighborhood rooster waking you up at sunrise with his morning walk around the premises but in my opinion that's part of the whole local experience 😄

Budget accommodation but very reasonably priced for Bora Bora. We rented e-scooters on site and the price was much cheaper than elsewhere. Shared bathroom and toilet but very clean. The room itself had no aircon but well ventilated with huge windows (partial view of the lagoon) and there is also a very powerful fan. Few minutes walk to the famous Matira Beach where you have views of the sunset. Excursions etc would probably pick you up at the nearby Intercontinental Le Moana which is just a 3 minutes walk away, very convenient.

There were some cons that other people mentioned before, but honestly, for the price Matira House offers, it is great for anyone: couples, families, solo travelers. Those small things were so minor that they did not influence my stay at all.

In my opinion, Matira House is the best place near Matira Beach in terms of the value you get for the money (best beach on the main island of Bora Bora). I would certainly choose it again if I came back to French Polynesia. I read some negative reviews about this place before my visit on booking.com; however, Matira House ended up being an amazing place for me for many reasons: - great location (you can watch the sunrise on one side of the house at the parking lot with a view to Intercontinental Hotel, and you also can enjoy the sunset on the Public side of the Matira beach) - a very enthusiastic and welcoming family who run this house - free bikes that allowed me to travel to all locations I needed easily (supermarket, Manta Rays Spot, etc) - close to Coral Garden (I just kayaked there many times from the parking lot near the property and saved lots of money on expensive excursions that give you just 20 minutes for snorkeling there) - affordable price considering all other properties nearby (you can't get better at Bora Bora! Trust me, I did my research)

Great location, in the most beautiful part of the island. The owner is very nice and helpful. She helped us with transport from the marina by taxi and with renting a car. If we ever visit again we would love to stay here again.
