How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe views at this place were amazing. The host was very kind and easy to contact. Bed was super comfortable and extremely easy to check in and flexible with us on check out since she could help us out on that day!
We didn’t love the layout that the kitchen area and shower were in the outdoor (mainly cause of mosquitos) but it was lovely and very different so had a nice vibe to it

Unfortunately the wall of sliding glass doors which opened up to the amazing view and direct access to the ocean front balcony were not useable during our visit. They were broken and could not be repaired prior to our arrival.

Verified reviewWe booked this property in hope to have very chilled relaxing few days but.... this property left very dirty feeling... To start - the instructions received from the Host were wrong and contained wrong code for key collection. We've spent over half an hour trying to unlock key deposit box only to discover that we were provided the wrong code!!! What if we'd arrived late at night??? The contact number provided to us was not working either! Secondly, the place is dirty - the dirt that has been there for ages, after not being properly cleaned between the tenants! And to finish it all off - the host provided invoice for one amount in XPF but decided to charge us in US Dollars (because they are based in the US), choosing the preferred rate for them and then, without our permission, just charged our card with an amount they wanted! Which means we were charged almost £100 extra! That is why you are unable to pay at the time of the booking - because the host overcharges you at the check-out!!!! Would anyone be happy to be treated this way on your super-expensive-as-it-is trip to French Polynesia??? And the tone the host is using in their correspondence.... well, book & see! Otherwise, the location was good if you have a car, beautiful flower-tree sets nice backdrop to the ocean but you can't swim as the water is all muddy, only around the bungalow. Bed was large and comfortable but after seeing how dirty the whole place is - you need to bring your own bedsheets to feel clean in this bed. Place looked very nice on the photos which were probably taken 100 years ago because the reality is very different! The whole place had to be de-greased before you could unpack and touch the surfaces, every handle in the property, surfaces in the bedroom, kitchen fridge, hob, sink etc.... and after seeing that - we would not trust the visual cleanliness of the bathroom - so we had to clean the whole property!
Dirty-dirty-dirty place!!! We've spent half a day cleaning the place! Sticky surfaces, layers of grease that you can write on!!! The ocean water just outside bungalow is always muddy, which means that you can't swim - the only reason people travel to the other side of the world, to swim in Clear Waters of the Pacific and to do that at this property - you will have to kayak miles away! Doors do not close properly! handles are dirty and almost falling off! So here is the security matter! Dont believe the amount for this property provided by BOOKING.COM because the host will charge you what they decide not what you signed up for! The arrogant and dismissive tone the host uses in communication or just ignores messages! No wonder there are so many negative reviews all over the net and not only in english! Host provides wrong information which means you have no access to the property! All the videos I've taken of the dirt in the property are available upon request - I'm unable to upload them on here, only the screenshots.

Advance payment via a secure link is required to receive your door code. You did not pay for your stay as required resulting in no door code being sent to you. You broke our sliding glass doors, broke dishes and wine glasses and willfully left the home in very poor condition. Fortunately our guests are respectful and appreciative as the multitudes of great reviews will show.

Verified reviewWe were right on the water where we have witnessed some beautiful sunsets. We were able to snorkel and fish. The kayaks were really great. Such a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. The shower outside was wonderful.
I think the fact that the rooms are not connected (kitchen is outside and one has to exit the bedroom to go to the bathroom) should be more emphasized on the description of the property. The sliding doors in the bedroom offered an amazing view but unfortunately we were not able to open them. That was really deceiving since it was one of the reason we had booked this property. The door knob from the bedroom leading outside needs some repair as well. We did enjoy cooking outside, maybe one more pan would be a good idea. The rate was high in comparison with other properties. The city center is a bit far and a car is needed.

The place is a bit outdated and I think very pricey for what it offers. It is one of the more expensive properties on the island and for that money it should be renovated. The door to the terrace did not open fully.

Verified reviewLovely view of the lagoon and sunset. Back porch, bougainvillea, kayaks, and bikes were very nice. Modern styling of the property with indoor/outdoor living.
Many thing were in some disrepair. All the doors were difficult to open for one issue or another. The bathroom had many bugs and webs and appeared not to be recently cleaned. Problems with the hot water. Local staff were somewhat unresponsive.

The fridge and basin in the toilet were not clean. The door gasket was disgusting, and only two rolls of toilet paper for a 4 day stay. A huge amount of ants in the bathroom and no fly spray in sight. There is no hand towel in the bathroom. The room smelt a bit like urine from the toilet.

Verified reviewWonderful location, amazing sunsets. We saw the Milky Way and so many bright stars. Great views from the deck. We could see Taha’a and Bora Bora from the deck. We used the kayaks provided and paddled to the little motu north of the house.
My only complaint was that we had to go outside to get to the bathroom, into the courtyard that isn’t totally private. Also, one of the doors was broken and we couldn’t open it.
