Everything is really nice and clean

We booked the Polynesia Cabins and had no idea they didn’t have their own bathrooms but there are more like dorm style. They were actually really nice but it was weird not having your own bathroom and room was tiny.

    Great restaurant and bar

I stayed in one of the cabin. While I understood it was a small cabin just to note that these are quite small and don’t have windows.

Great hotel - cabin was private and had a large comfy bed. Toilets and showers were private cubicles with lots of space to get changed and very clean. Nicely decorated communal area. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located opposite the ferry terminal so was super easy to get to and take our luggage.

    Property response:

Ia ora na, We're glad you had a great stay and appreciated both the comfort of the cabin and the helpfulness of our team. Mauruuru, The Kon Tiki team

I did not like the somewhat deceptive description of the room as “king sized double with a bed that can be placed high up.” The closet sized room contained small double sized bed was, in fact, permanently “placed high up”.

    Property response:

We're sorry the cabin layout did not meet your expectations. The cabin style is compact by design and we're very careful to give the most informations beforehand (especially in the descriptions of the cabin rooms) because we understand it may not suit everyone. Your feedback does helps us clarify our descriptions to better guide future guests.

I love the staff friendliness, responsiveness, and creativity, as well as the hotel's amenities and cleanliness. The staff go out of their way to help their clients. My work situation in Papeete changed mid-trip and me hanging for several days during which I wasn't sure when I'd need to return home. Tino, Nils, and others worked to make sure I'd have a room and at a reasonable price. I appreciate the flexibility and friendliness. I stayed in both a cabin and hotel room. Both were clean and secure. The shared showers in the cabin areas were cleaned multiple times each day.

Wi-fi quality was mostly fine, with moments in the evenings where I couldn't get a continuous connection.

    Property response:

Ia ora na, Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. We're truly glad our team was able to support you throughout your stay, and we'll be sure to pass on your message to Tino, Nils, and the rest of the staff. Mauruuru and see you !

Location is perfect and ideal for getting to the ferry.

The cabin concept. It clearly works for some but for us the better option was the normal room. It's worth checking the cabin option to see if it meets your needs, if not the normal room offers a traditional boutique hotel room experience.

    Property response:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The cabin concept isn’t for everyone, and we're glad you found the room option that suited you better. We always recommend checking both styles to find the right fit.

It was a great experience. The property was very clean. Kon Tiki is a beautiful hotel. The cabins are quite small, but work for single travelers. Our 2nd room was ridiculous. Beautifully designed, very spacious, and felt like a studio apartment.

I would have preferred a shower instead of a bathtub.

    Property response:

Dear Michelle, We're so pleased you had a great experience and enjoyed the variety of spaces, from the coffee house to the rooftop and restaurant. It's great to hear the studio-style room made a strong impression after your cabin stay. Noted regarding the bathtub, we appreciate the feedback and hope to welcome you again soon.

Very convenient if you need a ferry to Moorea (or any other "by boat" destination), the terminal is just across the street. Also very central, very nice rooftop bar. The bathroom was shared, but very clean.

Some hangers in the room would be useful, also a bit more space in the room itself (it is basically a comfortable bed with not much space next to it.

    Property response:

Dear Sanja, We're glad you enjoyed the convenient location, the rooftop bar, and the cleanliness of the shared areas. Thank you for your suggestion, we’ll definitely keep in mind the idea of adding more hangers and small storage options to improve the cabin experience.

Price was reasonable. Most staff were really nice.modern and funky look. Fine for a one night stop between a flight and a ferry.

The location, being next door to. Nightclub that closes at 5am you can hear the music until closing time and then you have people making a lot of noise coming in after the club closes. Some kind of leisure activities would be nice, board games or something.

    Property response:

Dear Lucija, Thank you for your feedback, we're glad the style, price, and convenience worked well for your stopover. We're sorry you had an inconvenience due to the noise in the area. And just so you know for next time, we do have board games available at the KT Coffee, feel free to ask the team !

Can check in 24 hours per day, great for a flight arriving late at night. AC in rooms, modern vibe. Very close to the ferry terminal- directly across the rode. There is a cafe in the lobby- very convenient. 11am check out was great.

People coming and going from the cabins could be very noisy. Would be good to put some signs up asking people to be quiet in the hallways/considerate of other guests. Shower pressure not great.

    Property response:

Ia ora na Nina, Thank you for your detailed feedback, we're glad the 24-hour check-in, A/C, and location worked well for your travel plans. The café in the lobby is indeed a favorite for many ! We've noted your suggestions about hallway noise and shower pressure. We'll look into adding signage to encourage quiet in shared areas and review the water flow in the facilities.

Location in front of the ferry terminal. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.

Expensive for a boat-cabin-sized windowless room. Very noisy. All room doors must be slammed shut, and the door to the corridor slams shut as well. With guests arriving and partying until after midnight, and the first ones leaving for the airport at 4 am, even with earplugs on, sleeping is a challenge.

The bed was very comfortable and AC worked great in the cabin room! Very clean modern too. Perfect place for a quick stay over right across from the ferry terminal and close to restaurants, bars , shopping.

Doesn’t appear you have option for choosing an upper bed versus a lower bed when booking a cabin. I suggest you request a lower bed as an additional request when booking if accessibility is an issue (climbing ladder to upper bunk)

Great concept!!! We were absolutely in shock when we saw how small the room was, but it was perfect for an overnight before our flight departure. Everything was immaculate. Loved the common area with kitchen facilities and an whole bean espresso machine. Comfy for everyone in those rooms with no windows. The hotel has three fabulous places to go: the café on the first floor, the Michelin star restaurant on the 7th floor and a tapas bar on the 8th floor The staff offered to keep our luggage a shower and clean towels while we waited for our plane.

The room did not have a window. While were fine with it for one night, I know it would bother many people who may feel claustrophobic. I also got a foot fungus the day after, so I wouldhardly recommend flip flops for the communal showers.

    Clean and nice service

I had to take a stupid metal staircase to climb on the bed with a back pain it was terrible. It was a journey to get to the external toilet in another corridor. I understand it is a fair price in Tahiti for a modern clean room but really too small and not having shower or toilet it should be slightly more affordable (backpacker style)
