How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHighly recommend. So well appointed unit. Fully stocked kitchen and appreciated the large filtered water jug. The view was spectacular!! The weather did not cooperate so had down time for reading. Bed was very comfortable. Tasha was so helpful and easy to communicate with. Thank you.
THE STEPS to the unit!! I think we counted about 90. We were aware it was a walk up to the unit. Glad we didn't have bad knees. The sofa and chair were not comfortable, which is our only complaint. It looked good.

Verified reviewThe apartment is stunning. Beautifully appointed, tastefully furnished with a light airy feel, it is clear the owners have carefully considered what guests may need. The size of the apartment is great, feels spacious and the deck has lots of room to lounge or eat outside. It is aptly named The View because the view is amazing. Clear view of the Bora Bora waters, fabulous sunsets. We enjoyed sundowners while watching the boats drift by. Could definitely have stayed longer.
The only downside (for us) was the 92 steps up to the fifth floor. We had quite a bit of luggage which meant multiple trips. We didn't find out the apartment was on the fifth floor until close to check in. Would we still have booked had we known this? It would have been a consideration but, as the hosts state, the view is worth it - they are right.
Dear Sally Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. We’re absolutely delighted that you enjoyed the apartment, especially its spaciousness, tasteful design, and, of course, the breathtaking view. It’s wonderful to hear that the deck provided the perfect setting for relaxing and soaking in those stunning Bora Bora sunsets—there truly is something magical about watching the boats drift by. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the steps. We understand how it could have been a challenge, especially with luggage, and we will ensure to make the apartment’s location even clearer for future guests. That said, we’re glad the view and overall experience made the climb worthwhile for you. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back in the future, perhaps for an even longer stay!

Verified reviewGood aircon, spacious rooms, recently renovated. The view is good l, but sort of similar to everywhere in Bora
Bad location - close to nothing. If choosing again I’m definitely going to stay at Matira or Vaitape. 5th floor no elevator or service - killed me to carry all the suitcases in the hot and humid weather Slow WiFi, no microwave oven. There are big drawings hang very low above the couch and the bed, had to take them off for headspace
Dear Chen, Thank you kindly for your feedback and for choosing to staying with us. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the spacious rooms, and our recently renovated space and the air con. We understand that the location might not have been what you were looking for, as our property is indeed designed for those who wish to get away from it all and enjoy a tranquil, setting. The fifth-floor location is clearly stipulated in our description & provides incredible, unparalleled views that we believe are worth the climb, but we understand that this might not suit everyone. We apologize for any confusion regarding the microwave—there is one available ; the oven is a combination oven and microwave with clear instructions on the apartment . Regarding the artwork, we have curated and placed it to create a home like atmosphere, however we appreciate your feedback and will consider it for future adjustments. We understand that the WiFi may not have been as fast as you expected. Unfortunately, internet speed can vary on the island and is beyond our control. Thank you again for your comments. Warmest Regards, Paradise Properties

Verified reviewThis apartment is a great option for a longer stay in Bora Bora. Despite that is small, you have everything you need on hand. The view from the large balcony is perfect for a romantic dinner or just to enjoy the blue lagoon!
You need to rent a car to go anywhere.

Verified reviewhis is first clasTs accommodation!! The view is truly breathtaking. The Access to the apartment / "handover of the keys" is uncomplicated. The apartment is very modern and well maintained and the air conditioning is a big plus!! Only access to the apartment requires climbing almost 100 steps. Which in itself isn't a problem. Only physically disabled people would have a hurdle here.

Verified reviewA beautiful spacious studio , with sweeping views of the lagoon , great balcony for eating dinner at night , or hanging out, the bed is comfortable, ac is great , everything is brand new , nicely decorated and stylish . 1.5 bathrooms , washer dryer was very helpful and worked well. The lagoon is across the street for swimming / snorkeling if you want . Ten minute drive to vaitape, the main town, but there are closer small markets and road stands closer.
Fifth floor walk up, so older couples with heavy luggage may have difficulty , but not a problem for us .

Verified reviewThe apartment was extraordinary. The views were amazing! It was nice and quiet which was very relaxing. Jessica was very helpful leading up to the stay and Tasha answered any questions I had during our stay.
The boat shuttle was not very close. There were not a lot of food options close by. Definitely need a rental car to stay at this property. Also, there are a lot of stairs which makes it difficult with a lot of baggage.

Verified reviewExtremely well equipped property. Great kitchen with ample cookware and supplies. Large fridge. Loved having a washer and dryer! AC worked well. Deck with view was spectacular. Owners were very responsive
Just note it is on the 5th floor and is a walk up. We're in our early 70's and in good shape so not a big issue. For anyone with mobility issues it wouldn't work.

Verified reviewThe view from “The View” was the best view we had during our 3 week stay in French Polynesia. we stayed in 3 other beautiful places, this was THE BEST! Every detail was so perfectly thought out by the owners. The Main bath and half bath, two separate toilets, “Amazing!” Stephan, one of the property managers, was extremely kind and helpful. This place is truly a Paradise within a Paradise. To access “The View” requires ascending several flights of stairs. Once you open the door and experience the view, you might agree that it was worth every step. We didn’t want to leave the place as it is the perfect sanctuary.
The thing I didn’t like about the property was that we had to leave.

Verified reviewEverithing. Staying in this apartment made me curse that I spent so much money in the resorts the previous days. As soon as I arrived I dived into bora bora's life and started having fun. I was coming from three days of resort and I was about to cut my veins from boredom, then I got here and everything changed. Lauren is fantastic, kind and always present. The house has a breathtaking view and is spotless.
You have to rent something to be able to move even if Lauren provides 2 electric bikes
