Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandGoing up the drive was initially a bit of a challenge but we quickly got used to it.
Excellent location and Dolores and Tony were exceptional hosts. The bedrooms were very comfortable, we had everything we could have possibly needed and the terrace was a lovely space with a nice breeze to cool us down and the view was stupendous!

United StatesThe driveway is a little difficult for find, but that is super common on the island. Dolores was always in easy contact, so she was able to help me navigate in real time. The driveway is also pretty long and steep. No worries with a car, but on foot it might be tough. There are dogs, but they didn’t bother me.
The location was perfection. My favorite beach was less than a mile up the road. As others have said, the VIEW from the terrace is incredible. Dolores and Tony made me feel like family. The kitchen is set up well for my needs. One burner, coffee maker, fridge. They supply capsules for coffee, so no need to worry about that. They gave me eggs and fruit from their garden. Their kindness and generosity is unmatched. I would highly recommend this place, and I plan on coming back with my kid next time. Thank you, Dolores and John!

United StatesIf you are not sure about driving up steep driveways (that make for an unforgettable view) but I found out how to do it, and was told from the very beginning how to navigate it well, so it really wasn’t a problem for us in our small stick shift car. ;)
The view was what attracted us first to booking this home. However, we found that Dolores and Tony were also very kind and sincere.

United StatesPlease skip down and read the 'what-we-liked' section first! None of these is really much of a negative. Not unique to this home, but the mosquitoes (mystique) were at times bothersome. (Our stay was just a few days after Mo'orea had had a week's worth of rain, so they were apparently particularly bad.) We suffered a few bites before being prompted to apply bug repellant, and then we were fine. We never found mosquitoes inside our guest room, only in the open air (although we were careful about closing the doors and windows during dusk, dawn, when we were out, and when the air was still). The following three comments are not things we "didn't like". They are our observations and opinions regarding things people have either mentioned in their reviews or might care about. 1) The home is at the top of a short (steep) street that passes by a property where numerous dogs live and seem always to be outside. Of our six or eight trips up and down, we saw dogs almost every time but only one time did they bark at us. The other times they ignored us. A couple times we found one or two dogs lying in the middle of the street asleep. We just had to drive around them. They never followed us for more than a few meters and, for us, they were not an issue. 2) I'm sure all of Polynesia has many bugs and critters. We were amused to see small lizards and geckos inside the home on the walls and ceiling. Clearly they are just part of the landscape and don't bother anyone. We appreciate that Polynesians live in harmony with the creatures rather than trying to exclude or exterminate them. Ants (very tiny ones) seem to be common too, but we've not had any issues (at this or the other two places where we stayed) with them getting into our food, although we've tried to keep it all protected. 3) Local sounds (roosters and dogs). These were barely noticeable.
The hosts and their family are incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome as their guests and have made noticeable efforts to provide amenities that guests might want during their stay. These included local fresh fruit, honey, and eggs, as well as good selections of coffees, teas, shower products, etc. They have also installed an air-conditioning unit. Although we were able to tolerate the heat and humidity without it, it was nice to know it was available. The whole guest unit is spacious and clean. It was easy to prepare food in the ample kitchen area. There are tables for dining both indoors and outdoors. The guests' space is on the lower level of the home (hosts' bedrooms above - they can be heard walking around, but they seemed to be very respectful about keeping it to a minimum and to reasonable hours - it wasn't bothersome). While we were there we had the full patio area to ourselves. The view from the patio is spectacular. The property is not far from a well stocked small supermarket, a very nice beach and park (Public Beach Ta'ahiamanu), which we visited several times, and some restaurants and food trucks. Of the three places we stayed on Tahiti and Mo'orea, this was the most memorable and our favorite (although the others were really nice, too!). We will definitely recommend it to others.

New ZealandAmazing hosts who even cooked us dinner one night. We enjoyed getting to know them and their family. They were super helpful with any questions we had, and made great suggestions for eating out. They provided fresh fruit and eggs from their garden. They left a lovely gift on the day of check out.

United StatesEverything was great!
If it was possible to give an 11/10, I would! Tony and Dolores are two of the kindest people. They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy the stay in their home. We were greeted with fresh coconuts and a plate of freshly cut mango from their tree. And later given a bowl of mangos to enjoy. Their place sits on top of a hill with a very beautiful view of the bay. The accommodation is simple but very comfortable, with everything you need in the kitchen, including lots of different coffee and teas to choose from. The bed is comfortable and the apartment very spacious. The toilet is detached but it’s your own to use. They provide shampoo and shower gel as well, and lots of different choices! They were so kind to invite us for dinner one of the nights. Fresh caught Marlin and lots of fresh Tuna prepared different ways, wow it was seriously the best dinner I’ve had in French Polynesia!! The driveway going up to the house is quite steep, but if you’re on a scooter or in a car it’s a breeze. Walking up isn’t bad, good for a bit of exercise! One of the most beautiful public beaches is a short walk from the house. We really enjoyed their place and their company! Would recommend to anyone looking to have nice accommodation that doesn’t break the bank and also a bit of a local vibe with the family. Dolores even offered us a ride to the ferry In the morning on her way to work. Such lovely people! Thanks for everything, guys! Wish you all the best!

BelgiumI stayed for a week. Tony and Dolores are wonderful hosts and made me feel welcome. The apartment was clean, with a fantastic view of the Opunohu Bay and the surrounding mountains, a spectacular scenery. Apparently the terrace is a great place to watch the whales in the season (I was there just before the season started so no sightings for me). Public beach is about 15 mins walk. I would recommend to hire a car / scooter in order to avoid unwanted contact with a bunch of not so friendly unleashed dogs in the neighbourhood and to make it easier to get around the island (the nearest grocery shop / supermarket is a few km up the road).

AustraliaThere is a big hill, our scooter didn’t make it up the hill with two of us on it. If you’re on foot and don’t fancy a sweaty hike with your bags then let Tony and Dolores know. But without bags it’s fine if you’re fit.
A beautiful, home stay/ Air BnB style accommodation. Dolores and Tony were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. They cooked us bread fruit like the Tahitians eat it, what an experience. When you stay in hotels you hardly meet real local people, it was super being there. There is a fully equipped kitchen and there are views over the bay from the courtyard outside. Tony grows bananas and papaya and he greeted us with a fresh coconut to drink. If you’re on foot there is a big hill to climb so ask them to bring your luggage up. They’re very helpful and friendly people. Good communication via Booking site.

United StatesThe walk up the hill is steep but makes up for it with it’s beautiful view!
The hosts Tony and Dolores were absolutely wonderful, making my time in Moorea especially memorable with their company. They are such kind and caring people that I am grateful to have spent time with. The accommodation was excellent and clean with everything you needing even including fresh eggs from their chickens stocked in the kitchen. The location is great both for walking and biking. I hope I will be back to Moorea and spending time here again!

New ZealandNeighbours dogs loose running round and very aggressive when leaving the property on foot. Having a scooter or hire vehicle would be suited more for the location.
Family that we stayed with were beyond helpful, went out of their way to pick us up and drop us off at the ferry etc and gave us a lot of local knowledge. Fixed their pushbikes and let us use them to get around the island.

United KingdomNothing major, but maybe worth mentioning that the house is a bit up on the hill between 2 lagoons (hence it has a great view!) So without a car/scooter, it's a bit hard to reach only by walking as the road is pretty steep but a short one & close to the main road.
Tony & Dolo were excellent hosts, very sweet, caring and kind people. I stayed 3 nights at their home. Since I didn't have a car/scooter, they offered to pick me up/drop me off to places several times during my stay, also invited me to their dinner table which was very sweet, really took care of me as a solo traveller. They have a beautiful home with an amazing view. My room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable.

New ZealandThe hosts are very sweet, but the accommodation is not ok. The whole building is very poor and run down. Extremely steep excess to the property. Very aggressive dogs attacking our car while driving up. 😰They belong to the neighbours. The accommodation is very dark and hot. There are tons of rosters around they crow from 2 am onwards. No earplugs help. I am sorry to give this bad review as the hosts are very lovely, but the accommodation is just not ok for THAT price!!! We left earlier than planned and I booked a very lovely, nice place in a better location for $50 a night less!
