Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The hosts were warm and welcoming. The chef made a cheeseburger that was divine.

New ZealandVery cheap thin toilet paper and not enough supplied for a family. Ended up buying our own, after being given partially used roll when we ran out. Some of the lights in the rooms didn't work. Not all beds had mosquito nets so we got bitten by mosquitoes. We asked for another mosquito net, but we were given a tiny net that did not cover the bed. The nets were also dirty and dusty.
The rooms had cooking facilities. The bathroom was a really neat design. It was lovely to have a home cooked meal from the hosts.

United StatesSome of the amenities left a little to be desired. The kitchen items for example. There was nothing to cook with. No salt/pepper. Only one small dull knife. No shampoo or soap in the shower. No potable water in the unit, and we had to walk to the community center to get water for coffee, drinking, etc. The wifi didn't work at the unit, but did work well at the pool cabana area, which was okay. That sort of stuff.
The location was great. It was in the hills and felt very rural. It was close to a lot of hiking and was neat to make the drive up the dirt road to see the neighborhood(s). The property was gorgeous and very in tune with the natural aspects of the island.

Czech RepublicInternet connection and wifi signal could be stronger. We would appreciate an option to buy some cold soft drinks, beer or wine at the reception (especially if you arrive on Sunday when the supermarket in PaoPao closes at 11:30 am). The solution could be a central fridge at the reception for self-service with a cash-box.
Very nice location in the heart of the Moorea mountains and very comfy, clean and nice bungalows. Situation with mosquitos is not so bad as you could expect. Owners provided us special antimosquito smokes for their use especially in the morning and it was ok. Personnel/owners were very kind, friendly and communicative. They could send a taxi for us when it was neccesary after our walk and hiking. They also prepared a great french breakfast with pancakes for us. We would like to come back once again and enjoy longer stay to spend more time in a swimming pool with a nice views on the Mountains.

AustraliaThe road into the property is unsealed and a little bumpy, but hey, that adds to the peace and seclusion because it is not on a main road. And to get there you get some insights into the 'rural' area of the island, which is a nice change from beaches and lagoons. We will return one day!
Meghan and Julien have built a peaceful oasis surrounded by stunningly beautiful mountains. The accommodation has nice character, and is a good size with all the facilities. It was exactly what we were looking for, as a pleasant change from the other beach-side properties we had stayed at in Polynesia, yet still convenient to the coast and beaches of Mo'orea. Meghan and Julien were great hosts, and both happy to share their wealth of knowledge about where to go and what to see - following their tips we were able to swim with sharks and rays from our kayak without having to go on an organised tour, and we did some great hikes in the mountains. They prepared a very nice breakfast each morning which we had by the pool. We would definitely stay there an!

United KingdomThe wifi was terrible, that cold be improved. I've never come across so many mosquitoes - they've done what they can, but it's just a fact of life in that location. The kitchen is tiny; fine for two but difficult to cater for any more
The location is great - lovely and peaceful in the mddle of Moorea. Looks great too.

NetherlandsIf you don’t have a car or scooter it’s a bit remote and its best to stay there for the evening. You can walk to the Main Street, but it’s very dark at night. Also, don’t forget the mosquito repelling spray, because there are lot of them!
The location is breathtaking and the two hosts are really kind and helpful! I had many questions about tours at the island Moorea and car rental and Meghan answered all my questions and even helped to book me some tours she recommended. Also they arranged a taxi (upon my request) who would pick me up at the ferry and drop them at their accommodation. Absolutely fantastic hosts who make you feel at home!

VietnamJulien and Meghan both make you feel so welcomed the minute you step into this oasis in the valley of the mountains, happy to help you with what you need to feel at home whilst giving you local tips on amazing places to explore in Moorea. Will definitely recommend to anyone this is THE place to stay! Bed was comfortable with a mosquito net, bathroom was so natural and the pool and communal areas were great, including the breakfast each day, was a treat.

United StatesDirt road to property must be taken slowly in standard rental car. Mosquitos (bring repellant! Incense Coils provided thankfully).
Lovely stay, lovely family and lovely pets. Kids (and adults!) had a wonderful time and Megan & Julian were welcoming hosts. They have put much effort into the lodge with nice attention to detail and guest comfort. Location was private, remote and quiet. We loved the private boat/snorkel trip we took with Nico, (Julian's brother) offered at a discount to guests of lodge, with underwater pics included! This was such a treat, and well worth the experience. Why anyone would choose to stay at a sterile resort over an experience like this baffles us all. We are sending much gratitude "from across the pond" for a wonderful stay and hope to return soon! Million de Remerciements!

United KingdomIt still needs a bit of refurbishments since the fares are a bit old and traditional so hot gets in pretty easily. But if you like to be surrounded by nature, this is your spot!
The eco lodge is nestled in the middle of the Moorea mountains - beautiful spot with the island’s colorful vegetation. It was so peaceful (and we were the only guests on the night we stayed there, so we had the full village and swimming pool for ourselves 😍) The hosts Meghan and Julien are very welcoming and love to share their experience and recommendations with you - don’t hesitate to ask them questions regarding what to do and where to go on Moorea. We enjoyed our chat with Julien in the morning! Special highlight: the breakfast is delicious and fully homemade.

New ZealandThe road - Not a dislike but I see a lot of reviews about the road so wanted to update. You'll receive a map on how to find the property which were super helpful. We rented a Hyundai i10 and the road was easy enough. You'll come off the main road and you'll have to cross two small bridges (one of the first red arrows looks like you need to turn left, but continue over the second bridge). Once over the second bridge, there will be holes as the road is no longer cemented, you'll come towards a fork in the road and you have to take the hill (a short hill with no holes), once at the top, keep left, more loose gravel and holes but keep going until you veer right and head down the hill and continue straight. Take it slow and its all good! People will be driving around so if you look lost, they'll stop and ask if they can help (if you do, say Village Temanoha, not just 'Eco Lodge'). Please do not let the reviews of the road put you off staying here :)
We were wanting a place to stay in Moorea amongst the trees and mountains and this was it! Our room was great and our hosts gave us tips on where to eat during our stay. Also the bathroom was beautiful! We had a swim in the pool amongst the birds which was great as one day was too hot to spend on the beach so we came back here which was much cooler :) They have friendly cats and a pet dog too. FYI - our room didn't have an aircon but a fan which was enough.

United StatesThe wifi in our bungalow didn't work while inside the bungalow which was a minor inconvenience since I did not have a local sim card and I needed to go outside to check for new notifications, including updates on our booked excursions. The following are things to consider but they are the result of local infrastructure and nothing the owners can control. The road to the property is difficult to drive on with a 600m stretch that has multiple deep potholes. We had a compact toyota corolla and were able to make the drive by going slow but it definitely impacted our planning since we tried to minimize driving that road and thus spent less time exploring/enjoying the property. Since the property is in the mountains, you can't drink the water/use it for brushing your teeth. The owners do have a centralized potable water source and you can use bottled water.
We ended up having a last minute 12 hr flight delay which led to us showing up late. The owners able to accommodate our delay as we showed up quite late. Additionally, they were friendly people, always available and even cooked us breakfast in the morning. The bungalow was spacious, clean, and fit the vibe of being in the mountains of Moorea. Overall we wish we spent more time up there as it was away from the main road and provided a beautiful and different perspective of the island.
