The hosts were warm and welcoming. The chef made a cheeseburger that was divine.

A little buggy, but the zapping racket was nice so overall it was manageable

The accommodation offered at this property was infested with mosquitoes. There was no mention on this property description as being an open air bungalow. The only remedy to the mosquitoes, besides the net covering the bed was to burn the provided outdoor repellent coils inside the living room, bathroom and bedroom. After coughing all night we decided to leave the following morning. Since there was no refund possible of our 4 nights reservation, that resulted in a lost of $501.75 for the 3 unused nights. Even the stay tax of $0.97 p/p p/n wasn't refunded!

The rooms had cooking facilities. The bathroom was a really neat design. It was lovely to have a home cooked meal from the hosts.

Very cheap thin toilet paper and not enough supplied for a family. Ended up buying our own, after being given partially used roll when we ran out. Some of the lights in the rooms didn't work. Not all beds had mosquito nets so we got bitten by mosquitoes. We asked for another mosquito net, but we were given a tiny net that did not cover the bed. The nets were also dirty and dusty.

-Cute bungalow -Very friendly people (owners of the village) -The WiFi was very good in the bungalow I stayed in

-Bungalow has an (sort of) open roof, so the bungalow was full of mosquitoes and mini salamanders, which resulted in having no sleep and at least 20+ mosquitoes bites (no joke) -The road to the bungalow is very bad and bobbly, so it takes a while to get there -Pool is way smaller than on the picture

A perfect jungle hideaway. Super cute bungalows with awesome natural rock showers. Great pool area and amazing hosts. Lots of nearby hiking options to explore.

There is about 10 minutes of pretty rough roads to access the property. We did it in a small rental car with no issues but you do have to take your time to avoid rocks and pot holes and it’s even more challenging at night.

The location was great. It was in the hills and felt very rural. It was close to a lot of hiking and was neat to make the drive up the dirt road to see the neighborhood(s). The property was gorgeous and very in tune with the natural aspects of the island.

Some of the amenities left a little to be desired. The kitchen items for example. There was nothing to cook with. No salt/pepper. Only one small dull knife. No shampoo or soap in the shower. No potable water in the unit, and we had to walk to the community center to get water for coffee, drinking, etc. The wifi didn't work at the unit, but did work well at the pool cabana area, which was okay. That sort of stuff.

Very nice location in the heart of the Moorea mountains and very comfy, clean and nice bungalows. Situation with mosquitos is not so bad as you could expect. Owners provided us special antimosquito smokes for their use especially in the morning and it was ok. Personnel/owners were very kind, friendly and communicative. They could send a taxi for us when it was neccesary after our walk and hiking. They also prepared a great french breakfast with pancakes for us. We would like to come back once again and enjoy longer stay to spend more time in a swimming pool with a nice views on the Mountains.

Internet connection and wifi signal could be stronger. We would appreciate an option to buy some cold soft drinks, beer or wine at the reception (especially if you arrive on Sunday when the supermarket in PaoPao closes at 11:30 am). The solution could be a central fridge at the reception for self-service with a cash-box.

the calmness, the scenery, the service, the hosts! it was a contrastprogram to the beaches we find everywhere in french polynesia

maybe just to mention one thing, it is a bit far off everything, but actually thats also a good thing about it!

You are situated right "in the jungle" with beautiful mountain views right around you. The owners are extremely friendly and help you with tips and tricks how to get around the island. The bungalows are georgously decorated and equipted with everything you need for a few days in peace.

We spend 4 nights during the rain season and the moskitos are no joke! The bungalow bedrooms are equipted with nets and the owners provide plenty of moskito coils, but make sure to bring your own repellent as well.

Meghan and Julien have built a peaceful oasis surrounded by stunningly beautiful mountains. The accommodation has nice character, and is a good size with all the facilities. It was exactly what we were looking for, as a pleasant change from the other beach-side properties we had stayed at in Polynesia, yet still convenient to the coast and beaches of Mo'orea. Meghan and Julien were great hosts, and both happy to share their wealth of knowledge about where to go and what to see - following their tips we were able to swim with sharks and rays from our kayak without having to go on an organised tour, and we did some great hikes in the mountains. They prepared a very nice breakfast each morning which we had by the pool. We would definitely stay there an!

The road into the property is unsealed and a little bumpy, but hey, that adds to the peace and seclusion because it is not on a main road. And to get there you get some insights into the 'rural' area of the island, which is a nice change from beaches and lagoons. We will return one day!

The owners are super lovely. They made me feel very at home and were very polite and friendly. Very easy to communicate with, via WhatsApp before arriving and during the stay they were happy to be on standby for any other needs. They’re a lovely couple with a daughter and cats and a dog and the whole vibe feels nice. The property is about 5-10 minutes drive from the main Super U supermarket around cooks bay which is great if you need supplies. The location is fantastic if you like to be amongst the hills. Great views and scenery

The only thing I would say is you would lose phone signal from being in the hills. There is wifi in the communal area but it isn’t that strong, but then again it’s about switching off and enjoying the surroundings

    Property response:

Ia orana Daniel, Thank you so much for your review. We are happy that you spend a good time with us. It was a pleasure to have you. Best regards, Meghan

The location is great - lovely and peaceful in the mddle of Moorea. Looks great too.

The wifi was terrible, that cold be improved. I've never come across so many mosquitoes - they've done what they can, but it's just a fact of life in that location. The kitchen is tiny; fine for two but difficult to cater for any more

The place which was in the middle of the mountain. Flowers and trees everywhere

No wifi in the bungalow No mobile signal in the area. Animals in the house (geckos, moschitos and cockroaches). Road was very bad and with a small car you really struggle. Taxi will not take you to this place. You need a 4x4 to reach the place easily Very small bungalow for 5 people. Overpriced. Maybe we were just unlucky looking at the good reviews but our experience was not great

Pretty setting inland with views of the rugged volcanic peaks.

Mosquitos were quite bad. Owner's dog barked early in the morning right outside our cabin. And the access road is very rough and bumpy--had to drive 5 mph. The pictures of the pool and common area made it look bigger and nicer than reality. The pool was dirty 3 of the 4 days we stayed.

Physically a beautiful place. Very secluded. Close to PaoPao (sort of).

Stay away if you want to avoid Dengue Fever! Booked a stay at Eco Lodge Village Temanoha on the island of Mo’orea for 5 nights in July 2024 and ended up staying only 4 hours! The room was completely open to the environment: there were no screens on any of the windows. Mosquitos were free to fly in and out at will. In the first 4 hours I received about 100 mosquito bites on each leg (see photos!). If you want to lose a lot of blood and scratch yourselves all night and catch Dengue Fever, this is the place for you. We have been coming to Mo’orea for the last +20 years. I help my wife with her marine research, and we usually stay at the UC Berkley Gump Station. This year, the station was completely booked so we needed accommodation for a short period. Being familiar with Mo’orea, geckos, cockroaches, rats, insects, roosters and other animals are just a way of life. So, mosquitoes are in abundance during the wet season, however July is the dry season and mosquito populations are significantly lower. However, the Eco Lodge is swarming with them, and the rooms have no way of protecting you from mosquitos (unless you want to live in a mosquito net all day). Mosquitos are a known source for spreading diseases. In 2024, French Polynesia has a significant rise in Dengue Fever. In the photos, there is a travel warning describing the rapid rise of cases in Tahiti and Mo’orea. The best way to avoid mosquitoes in the tropics is to go during the dry season and to stay near the coast. The ocean breeze tends to keep them at bay. Next, make sure that your room has screens to keep the mosquitoes outside: fans and mosquito nets can also help. The Eco Lodge is about 1 mile inland surrounded by mountains and hence a much higher population of mosquitoes. Other than that, the Eco Lodge is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. It would be at least an 8/10 if there were no mosquitoes. Sadly, this is not the case, hence the poor rating.

Set in tropical paradise. Arrived via a winding dirt road to find lovely bungalows surrounding a pool and cabana. Hosts could not have been more welcoming. The breakfast (extra) was served at tables between the cabana and pool, with view of craggy mountains. Roosters crowing in the distance.

Would have been better if I had a car. That being said, the host had taxi pick me up at ferry, dropped me to buy groceries while they ran errands, called taxi to take me back to ferry.

    Property response:

Thank you Kristine for your review. We are happy that you have a nice stay with us. Best regards, Meghan
