Clean.Quiet and very comfortable. Was lovely and stayed an extra night.Only 200 meters from the Ferry that goes 24/7. Hired a motorbike from the Owner and travelled to some lovely beaches down south of Samal. Would come back and stay if we come to Samal again. Thank you 😊

Stayed for a night and it was a good experience. Clean and spacious room. With hot and cold water available for drinking. Towels are provided. Air-condition is avaialable in the sleeping room. Fee steps away from ferry station. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Great place to stay! Definitely will book again the next time I visit Samal Island.

Road is pavement so not good for wheeled luggage, water is intermittent but staff has a way to give us water, airconditioning is not cooling the place but since it is rainy season opening the window gives a relaxing night.

Place is just a few minutes away from the port. Near the market and you can even walk. Staff are easy to contact if you have any request. Free drinking water and complete kitchen amenities.

There is an air conditioner in the bedroom, it keeps it cool, but the rest of the place despite having several fans can get quite hot during the day, so an air conditioner should be considered for the main living area.

I really liked the location, it’s close to the port but it feels like your in the middle of the jungle which was exactly what I was looking for. The owner has a motorbike that she will rent and to get around and visit the sights of Samal this is an essential otherwise you might find yourself a little isolated. The road in is also a bit rough so you should at least have reasonable skills on a bike and also a reasonable degree of fitness. Her caretaker on the property Christine was also an excellent person ensuring your needs were met.

I would recommend being careful entering the wrong rooms in the house as the host might charge double cost and make drama. My honest opinion is that the host is not suited to holiday and hospitality hosting

The location is a bit interior, from the barangay road, but if you don’t mind neighbors, then it’s not a big deal.

I wish we had stayed here longer than one night. The place is equipped with everything you might need including a kitchen space, wifi, and a tv in the spacious living area. Great value for money, and Nina was so kind and helpful the entire stay.

Really nothing. Everything was perfect.

Publikaus certainly is a hidden gem in Samal Island. It's is located very central, a 5 min walk from the ferry terminal only, nonetheless very rural and scenic, in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees, plants and a bunch of chicken. Lalaine and Nina's friendliness and hospitality is second to none. They stayed in touch with me throughout my stay, helped me organize different activities, and accompanied me back to the ferry. My room was clean, with air con and fan. It is very convenient that Lalaine and Nina offer motorcycle rental, so you don't have to bother finding a place. I got a delicious Samal Pomelo on my breakfast table as a small welcome gift. The place is highly recommended!

I had an exceptional stay with Lalaine and Nina. the place is awesome, small house with all the amenities, surrounded by vegetation, very clean and cozy. an exceptional and very considerate welcome. Nina is always available to help and give advice for tours. 2 steps from the ferry pier, motorbike rental possible directly from Nina, everything is perfect I highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

There was no electricity on our first night of stay there. The bathroom had quite a bad smell then the flush of the toilet and heater didn’t work. They have complementary coffee but when I checked it is already expired.

The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. They have most of the facilities a guest would need.

Property is hidden away, no signage, tricky to find. Shower is difficult to use. Aircon is out of gas so it does not cool the room, makes it hard to sleep.

Very large, good price for the size. The water cooler is a nice touch. The host is helpful.

The host and Christine, managing the place were communicative and gave a lot of recommendations. It's one of the cleanest and well maintained houses I have ever rented out. And overall a homey place among the locals who are super friendly. It's good to rent the scooter and explore the island. Not many public entrances to beach and sea, but they can be found. Easy access to ferry. Close by is Babak where you can get fresh fruits and veggies.

So peaceful and quiet. Surrounded by nature, yet just a 3 minute walk to stores and transportation. Lalaine has definitely gone to considerable expense and trouble to make everything perfect for tourists. Price is quite reasonable.

I just hope that the Island would have a better access to water system / water reservoir so that the locals and the tourists alike could live comfortably.

What I like the most about this property is its homey and cosy vibe. The place is surrounded by greeneries and also ideally situated near the seaside. The owner (Lalaine) and the caretaker (Christine) put their best efforts to provide all our basic needs in the island. Thank you so much guys. We’ll definitely be coming back and will recommend this place to everyone who wants to explore the beauty of Samal Island.
