Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesThe only issue is the internet. It would disconnect or be quite slow sometimes.
The staff is very polite and helpful. The place provided everything you may need and is quite near to the plaza and other important shops. The food in the lobby is good too and other options around the area and on the same level! They also have a good parking area if you have a car. Just ask the staff where.

United KingdomThere was renovation/building work going on so it appeared the restaurant/bar area was out of action which we were unaware of. We couldn't hear any noise that affected our stay though. The shower was in another language so we weren't sure how to get the heating to work consistently, it would be great to have a small list of instructions on how to work the shower for future.
Lovely interior design of the room, nice to have a porch area looking out on jungle greenery, the name is perfect for the location! Complimentary chilled mineral water on request. Spacious room with good bathroom facilities and Aircon. Quick and easy check in. Friendly staff who helped us book transport to our ferry very quickly! Would definitely recommend this!

United KingdomOnly issue we had was that we put the “make up room” sign on daily but unfortunately our room wasn’t cleaned.
We had a great stay for 4 nights at Jungle Guesthouse. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are modern and the location is great for all amenities and popular restaurants on the island. From the port it is 350 pesos for a tricycle and the hotel can help arrange transport back at the end of your stay. You can hire a bike for 450 pesos per day across the road next door to Marco Polo which is always great.

GermanyGood location in San Juan near some restaurants and supermarkets. The room was lovely and felt very new. The rooms are set back from the main road in a lovely garden, so you don't hear the traffic, but being the Philippines there are cockerels and dogs :) Each room has a small terrace so you can sit outside. Staff were great, they helped us to hire motorbikes from the place directly opposite and advised what we should be paying for tricycles when going to the beach/port. San Juan is quite spread out along the main road. A lot of the restaurants are nearer to Paliton beach, but easy to get a tricycle. Would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomThe noise is none stop all day and night from the animals so ensure you pack ear plugs! From chickens to dogs. We stayed right at the front near the restuarant so this could be why it was so loud

AustraliaHowever, our hot water was not working and the owner would not fix it for over a day. I had to ask 4 times to have it fixed and it took over a day to get it done. Very disappointing. The boss was not great. But his employees are amazing
It was good value for money and the ladies looking after us were great.

GermanyIf you dont ask they dont clean the room. We where there 6 nights and had to ask to clean and change towels 1 time. Otherwise they dont do it. The room is okay but has nothing to put your clothes on,just a simple rack that doesnt fit anything. We were in room 1,the closest to the restaurant... so when the workers are there thy just sit under your window... so you hear eveyrhing.
The place is modern and the little houses are okay. It is in the may street surrounded by restaurants and the beach close by. There is free water at the restaurant. Beds are really comfortable The best part are the 7 little puppies! I would recommend definitley but only for a short stay...

GermanyMost of the staff couldn’t really speak English so there were a lot of communication issues. When we arrived it seemed like they double booked our room so we had to stay in a different room (worse than what we originally booked and payed for) and change after the first night. There was no compensation of any kind. Also, they were very insistent about the room change and knocked on our door every hour to tell us when to change and what to do. Since it was their fault we couldn’t stay in our booked room I feel like we at least should have had the freedom to arrange the change to our own schedule. This was very annoying. Also, there was no drinking water which is the standard in the Philippines. WiFi was basically useless. Not even basic applications like google maps worked. But the Italian place across the street has very good WiFi and excellent food and service so we ended up going there a lot. Despite the communication issues with the staff they could help us with every inquiry/problems we had, like fixing the bathroom door which was stuck or arranging a transfer to the port on our last day.
Rooms are very nice, the bed was comfortable and the aircon was good. It is possible to rent a scooter for normal price and the location is very good (restaurants nearby, close to the sea).
