How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. It is very quiet in the evenings and away from major roads. It is walking distance feom some good restaurants. I would highly recommend it for short stays.

Verified reviewThe place, the room, the wonderful garden and kindest owner and staff🙏 Very peaceful place close to Mactan and with easy access to Cebu. Amazing garden and fully equipped kitchen. You can travel to the airport with local transportation with as little as 30 pesos (or ‘turist’ taxi for about 300). Breakfast options in house and nice bakery just around the corner. Do yourself the favour not to book in some anonymous hotel and choose this wonderful guesthouse☺️

Verified reviewWe rented 5 out of the 6 available rooms in this house. Each room is for 2 people and has a double bed. The superior rooms are spacious and beautiful, located on the first floor. The bungalow is at the very top and does not have its own bathroom; it is located one floor below. The two standard rooms were on the ground floor with covered windows, and both had their own bathroom, but only one had a private toilet. There is also a shared living room and kitchen available for all guests. The owner is very kind and accommodating. We ordered breakfast, which took quite a while to arrive, but it was delicious. It was a bit too small for us, so we ordered extra portions and received them. Drinking water is available in a dispenser in the kitchen for all guests. The only things that could be improved are the water pressure in the bathrooms, as the water barely flows, and the overall cleanliness of the house. There were two large cockroaches in two of the rooms, and the shared kitchen needs a thorough cleaning. The sink is worn out. The surroundings of the house are green and full of beautiful flowers. It’s okay for a one-night stay, but for a longer stay and a relaxing vacation, we would choose something nicer. The location of the house is close to all necessary amenities such as shops, restaurants—just a 10-minute walk away.

Verified reviewIt’s run down. The shower was hopeless. Didn’t see anybody during the stay apart from one lady who gave me the key and to whom I returned it in the morning. Difficult to locate. Toilet in separate area.

It’s a family run business, and staff itself is a family member/the owner except for the housekeeping, that’s why you can’t see anybody but people are always there when you need something. For something you need, you could contact to the provided QR code in the room. We will check the shower as mentioned and will try our best to improve it. For the separate toilet, I hope you have checked the room details before booking, as we have stated the (private shower) and (shared toilet). Thank you. Have a pleasant day.

Verified reviewI love the warm ambiance the accommodation offered. You can chill late in the evenings or just be dazed early mornings outside the guest rooms. They even have kitchen for those opting to cook their own food. And the most amazing thing during our stay was they offered to drop as to the airport for a small fee.

Verified reviewI like the home feeling..its safe and very accessible to laundry, market, groceries etc. breakfast and water is available, drop off and pick up from the airport also available. The staff are very helpful and hospitable and ms eve the owner is very kind and also dropped us to the airport.
Just a noise like banging the wall coming from the other room till 1:30 am when we stayed. Theres no tv in the room so nothing to watch in the night. Otherwise our stay was good.
