Only that I traveled during monsoon season, so the first four days weren't perfect weather. But once the rain left, my goodness... what a paradise!

Balihao is an absolutely beautiful retreat on Camiguin! Each villa feels like its own little hidden paradise — spacious, private, and surrounded by lush gardens that the owner’s mother designed herself! The Swiss engineering mixed with the Filipino nature is truly special. The restaurant’s food is delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere makes Balihao the perfect place to relax and recharge. I really enjoyed the yoga shala down by the pool, it is a stunning spot to unwind and connect with nature. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how incredible the staff are — warm, welcoming, and always greeting you by name and a smile. It truly feels like a family atmosphere. If you’re looking for a serene getaway with a personal touch, Balihao is the perfect choice! Thank you Lara, Karen, Judie and Kabat!!

Not crystal clear water at the both private and main pool. I know maybe its difficult to accomplish that in a place like Camiguin in the middle of nature, but it was the only thing that I thought "if this were have been great, it had been a perfect stay". Also, not my problem but it was for my girlfriend. If you are afraid of geckos, check it out before reservation. The cottage was plenty of them and she had a panic attack and couldn't sleep (not the hotel's fault, in fact we even didn't tell anything about it, I suppose that in extreme cases they could change your cottage for another one just in case there are others without that many geckos) but if you have phobia with those creatures, it is important to know. The cottage is in the middle of nature, and it is a cottage, so... This things could happen and in our case it was plenty of them, inside (at the ceiling) and outside.

10/10 – A peaceful, soulful stay with heart Stayed for 3 nights | Poolside Villa | Traveled with my 82-year-old mother I booked Balihao Resort through Booking.com with the intention of staying just one night, but the moment we arrived, I knew it wasn’t enough. The atmosphere, the comfort, and the warmth of the place made it an easy decision to extend our stay to three nights—and I’m so glad we did. It was absolutely worth it. The resort is new, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush greenery. Each villa feels private and peaceful, and ours came with its own tiny dipping pool—a rare and lovely feature that we enjoyed every day. I was traveling with my 82-year-old mother, and she felt safe, relaxed, and well cared for. The resort is quiet and walkable, with a foresty charm that instantly puts you at ease. The food was excellent. My favorite was the breakfast bowl with camote, lechon chorizo, and maize salad—hearty and flavorful. The sourdough bread, baked fresh by the owner, was a standout—and as someone who bakes sourdough myself, I truly appreciated the care and quality. The jamu shot and banana-tablea shake were both refreshing and nourishing. Most of all, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff and owners were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their presence made the stay feel even more personal and memorable. Though Balihao is still new, it already feels like a well-kept secret—peaceful, soulful, and full of heart. Loved everything about this property!

Balihao combines luxury and nature perfectly, making it an absolute dream destination! They provided the finest and most genuine hospitality, helping to create meaningful friendships and invaluable family memories. They accommodated every request, including transportation pick-up and drop-off, in-room massage bookings, motor scooter rentals, and local recommendations. The views from the villa, restaurant, and resort are fabulous. Our accommodations included air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a standing fan, and daily refills of cold water. The culinary dishes in the restaurant were delicious and beautifully presented. My personal favorites were the breakfast fruit platter, sourdough bread with herb-whipped cheese, pork belly, silkwate mousse, and the Green Queen. Everything was very clean and modern. The bathroom was huge and stunning; I especially loved how I could enjoy the surrounding natural beauty while maintaining complete privacy. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return and highly recommend staying here—you will not regret it. It was an experience that truly filled my soul. This was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The attention to detail combining luxury with nature will have you waking up each day in the most magical resort. The owners Laura and Steve are the most friendly and have poured so much positive energy into making their dream come true in the design of the resort and unique touches for each villa and with making selective decisions on their staff who are the best with being kind hearted and so very helpful. Karen is a gem who organized daily activities for us as well as providing tips to make our trip the most memorable and set us up with a motorbike rental and scheduling our massage giving us the option to have it in our individual room or during the sunset on the beach. The resort is so clean, the food amazing, and the drinks are delicious and all handcrafted.

What a heavenly place ! I don't think there are many like this in the Philippines. We were kindly welcomed by Lara and Steven on arrival and stayed for 4 nights. The rooms are spacious, very well equipped and not overlooked. The restaurant offers original, fresh dishes and a superb cocktail menu. Camiguin is also an island to discover by renting a motorcycle (snorkeling, White Island, falls...). I think you'll fall in love with this place as we did !

This is one of the best resorts in Camiguin - if not the best. You will not see many reviews because it is a brand new resort. That worried me a bit initially. But after getting there it was obvious this is a great place to stay in the island.

Our stay at Balihao was the highlight of our stay in the Philippines: the luxurious villa with a private pool, the restaurant (one of the best meals we had in the Philippines), the breathtaking view, the overall atmosphere... Honestly, we hesitated at first because there weren't that many reviews, but we are so glad we came. We stayed for 4 nights but decided to extend our stay because we loved it so much. Thanks for the memorable stay; we wish we could have stayed longer! And special thanks to the great team that made us feel at home!

Whilst entirely unavoidable due to delivery delays on their solar infrastructure (expected to be resolved in 2 months), the hot shower and air conditioning were unavailable, but the rooms are very airy and have 2 fans so the AC was not even needed.

The best place I have stayed in Camiguin in 15 years or coming to the island. My partner & I were some of the first guests for their “soft opening” and they have hit the nail on the head from the beginning. The villas & restaurant area - the entire grounds - are incredibly beautiful and also very private. Despite the large space, it feels cosy and homely - family-run vibe, and they are well known by & integrated with the locals, also respecting the local area with their low-key presence. The plant life/jungle feel are wonderful. Beautiful sunset down at the main pool, and a small pool in the villa with complete privacy. Sea view from the bed, wonderful food, great cocktails, everyone so friendly, and when something was needed (sometimes before we could even ask) it was there the next day! If you want to enjoy a little luxury, you CANNOT miss out on Balihao! We WILL be back :)

This is an exquisite property with private villas , an excellent restaurant and very lovely staff. The villas are large , airy , each with its own pool and balcony, from where you can see some breathtaking sunsets. The outdoor bathroom is an added gem . If you're lucky to be here on Saturday , you can do yoga facing the sea. There is also a small beach where you can go a snorkel if you like. the restaurant is hands down the best on the island - the menu is tastefully done with some well crafted cocktails too. They use local ingredients , and have some really amazing dishes and drinks. everything about this hotel is beautiful, the location , the decor, the view and the property. Thank you for an amazing time!

The lock on our room was broken, making it impossible to secure our space. We reported the issue and asked for a solution, but unfortunately, no action was taken throughout our stay. Additionally, the room was not cleaned at all, and towels were not replaced, despite being told at check-in that this would be done daily. We had to request fresh towels ourselves. Every morning between 9 and 10 a.m., while we were relaxing in what was supposed to be the privacy of our villa, a pool maintenance worker entered the area without notice to clean the pool. With large windows facing directly onto the pool, this felt intrusive and uncomfortable, especially since we had not been informed this would happen.

The garden is well taken care of. The facilities are exceptional. We had a villa with a private swimming pool and an outside bathroom which were exceptional. However we are not satisfied of the services offered by the hotel.
