How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Jonathan and his staff were all amazing from before and even after we had left and needed help arranging transport. Its a low key chill place to hang out and you can hire a canoe or raft to visit the sandbar. Food delivered to door tasty and budget friendly nice bar surrounded by friendly cats and dogs. Verified reviewCute main area with hammocks and great wifi!
The staff didn’t really know what was going on when we arrived and had to wait 45mins to check in and put our bags away. The tents were really hot. The fan only works for 5 hours at a time and the dock didn’t look like the photos. Due to tides and rain we had to walk in nearly waist deep water to cross to the land in morning. The workers started building/fixing the dock early in the morning when we hadn’t got out of bed yet. Also doesn’t have many restaurants around and feels unsafe to walk around at night.
Dear Annika, Thank you for your comment. We would like to respond to some of the issues raised. 1. It is clearly stated in our booking policy that you must inform us in advance about your estimated time of arrival. You have not done so, stating in your message to us that you had no wi-fi, and apologized for the lack of information. You sent us a message that you have arrived, and we have responded immediately to you that we will need 25 minutes to reach you. Upon checking the time of the message, you sent us, and the CCTV of our arrival, it took us 15 minutes to reach you and start the check in process. Therefore, you did not wait 45 minutes to be checked in. 2. A solar fan is an additional equipment which we provide for our guests who stay in the tents, however, as it is a tent, you cannot expect the conditions of a room in terms of temperature. Our tents are standard tents, like the ones you find on camp sites. 3. There is a ladder from the shore to the floating cottage where the tent is on, so even during high tide, you can reach it safely. It is, after all, a floating tent accommodation, therefore water will be around the cottage. However, it is not waist deep. 4. We don’t have a dock. The floating cottage with tents is on the shore, and upon your arrival we have informed you that there is ongoing construction in some parts of the cottage, to which you said was okay. We do not allow our workers to start construction unless the guests in the tents have already woken up, to prevent disturbing them. As per checking with our staff, they informed us that you have left the tent already when they started to work, so we believe that there was no disturbance done to you. 5. There are local restaurants less than 2 minutes' walk from our place. As stated in our description, our place IS indeed a local place. And so, you will find local places around. 6. Luckily, lack of safety in Puerto Princesa is not an issue. The crime rate is low. Of course, we encourage our guests to be responsible and cautious all the time while walking around for their safety and security.

Verified reviewStaff there are so friendly. They treat you like their friends, their family. It is a place where you can just chill all day as it is just by the beach and has a nice bar. Anyway, the idea of sleeping in a tent in a floating hut is so dope! An experience you have to have!

Verified reviewWoah this place was special. I wish as a group we stayed more than one night. The were some locals who were there and asked us to join them and they caught fish in the night, cooked it on the barbecue for us and also taught us some things about what you can find in the sea. They were so funny, so nice and honestly just the warmest and most beautiful people. Cracking jokes all night. You must come with an open heart, we were all very tired when we arrived so we weren’t expecting to stay up the night but we did and it was one of the best nights enjoyed with some of the funniest people we’ve ever met. The place is super cute, there aren’t many bugs, the tents did get a little bit hot but you’re on a floating deck on the ocean in the Philippines. I would recommend this place for group of friends, I can imagine we would’ve had all good nights here. The owner Jonathan is so lovely, greeted us all personally when we arrived and also helped us with our transport to airport. Flucky and lo you guys are the best seashells in the ocean. Thank you. I can’t rave enough about this cute little accommodation. I love it.

Verified reviewWe stayed in the floating tent and that was unforgettable experience. There are many hammocks where we could relax. Staff was super friendly and on Saturday and Sunday they have social evenings with guitars, drums and singing. Fair scooter rental price. Nice breakfast
Showers needed more pressure, very inconsistent
