How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Verified reviewI like the attentiveness of the staff and how they accommodate requests. They also explain policies and use of facilities very well. The buffet breakfast was also good and options are fairly varied.
The ceiling must be too thin as the chair dragging and dropping of things are too loud and startled us several times especially during wee hours. It was definitely disturbing our rest especially that there are also construction going around the place.

The neighbourhood is a tourist golden prison, you have favelas everywhere. The prices are for tourists. At night street workers come to offer their services if you are right outside the structure.

I never complain about hotels but I was really disappointed with this hotel. First the pool that was part of the hotel down the road part didn’t have enough towels for us and didn’t have most of the drinks on the menu available, we ordered room service one night and they messed the order up and all the food was ice cold, I wrote to the hotel online about these issues and they never got back to me, the hotel was charging 1000 to get a taxi off them when the price was 500 pesos, the steam room wasn’t working, we went to get breakfast at 9:25 and were told to wait and didn’t get to sit down for breakfast till 9:45 and breakfast stops serving at 9:50 and there was little food left at 9:45. This was a four star hotel and I think I was just expecting more from them

Verified reviewBreakfast at the hotel is good, if you're a big breakfast kind of person. It is a bit pricey (right under $20) but worth it if you take advantage of the fact that breakfast is a buffet. Rooms were clean. The amenetities like the private beach and pool are offsite. There are shuttles that go every hour, but note that they often do not take back guests unless you're a senior citizen. It would be about a 10 minute walk back to the hotel. Staff was friendly as well.
There is always someone soliciting for condos in the main lobby. Be prepared to be approached and asked by someone if you're interesting in investing in property every time you walk through the lobby. Doesn't matter if you've told that person no earlier in the day, they will ask you again. The private beach and pool area is nice, however the beach area is very rocky including in the shallow areas.

AC was hit and miss in our room, floors weren’t being swept properly during housekeeping. Breakfast was also mid.

Verified review- The hotel was clean and the staff were always super friendly and helpful. - The location was great - not too far from the airport! - The beach and pool were fantastic - Airport transfer was easy to book and not too expensive
- The gym facilities were pretty old, and the gym was a lot smaller than it seemed on the photos. - While the breakfast was good but a lot of the hot food was cold (like baked beans and eggs). There weren't many healthy options except for some watermelon. - There was always something "unavailable" on the menu at dinner time (this is not a hotel-specific thing, I later learned, but part of the culture as a whole) - Don't expect much more outside of the resort if you're planning to leave it - the area is mostly still being built!
