Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaAC is only available at an additional fee of 1000 PHP per night. Property is located around 40 mins by tricycle from El Nido bus terminal.
Brilliant location right on Bucana beach. We liked the food - variety of curries / seafood / pasta available; all for 250 PHP each. Comfortable rooms with fan as standard. Staff were always willing to help. Laundry service available.

United KingdomLike everywhere in the Philippines there are cockerels. Unfortunately the weather was quite stormy while we were there so there was quite a bit of plastic and broken glass on the beach. The surrounding town is full of very friendly people and lively kids but it's quite dirty (lots of piles of plastic). Just things to be aware of, they bear no reflection on the guesthouse itself.
Very friendly and welcoming staff and owners. We stayed over Christmas week and what a great, chilled out place to be. It's basic accommodation, with cold water only showers which we don't mind at all, after the initial shock it's always very refreshing! The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The food very reasonably priced and a lot of options for meat and seafoods eaters and a few options for veggies. I had a horrible cold throughout our stay and lost my appetite but they looked after me with some nice plain toast which was great. They can help you arrange a tricycle from El Nido town to get there or you can get one yourself, it takes about 45 mins from where the van stops by El Nido Town. You do have to walk over a wobbly suspension bridge but it's fun and all part of the adventure. They will offer to meet you when you arrive to bring you to the accommodation which is fab. They can also help you arrange a tricycle back to town when you leave and can deliver you back to the bridge with their own tricycle. That's service! They also have a scooter you can rent to go exploring.

United StatesMy second stay here. The family that owns and runs this place is the best. The rooms are good size and the bathroom is big. It is right on the beach with a wonderful view from the dining area. The young man is a really good cook. The other guys are up early in the morning, raking and cleaning the beach. They show a lot of pride it their resort. I wish the other places would do such a good job. The value is exceptional and the meals are good and a good deal. I wish I could find more places like this on all my travels. And Jovina has the most wonderful smile.

United StatesOf course there is trash on the beach but so much cleaner than my last trip to Bucana.
Beachfront on Bucana bay. I loved this place! Coffee waiting on your table and a very good breakfast. The owners were nice and service was good. Basic room was good size with a cabinet to hold your bags and hang shirts. Cold shower was refreshing. Fan kept room cool. The best value in 4 months of traveling the Phillipines. Great beach, clear water. Nice for swimming. Highly recommended.

PhilippinesMinor, but shower could use a shelf and maybe a bucket of water outside the door to clean the sandy feet off before going into the room.
Amazing beach location, if you want a peaceful, quiet, clean area, choose this accomodation. Rooms seem new, bathrooms are attached and perfectly clean, common area is clean and has many tables. Staff were beyond helpful. I stayed an extra night because I enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend if you are looking for secluded vacation, and you cannot beat the affordable cost of the rooms.

AustraliaI actually thought the resort was in El Nido town, but learned it was a 45 mins tuk-tuk drive to the waterfront resort in the province. My mistake, and the best mistake I ever made, and difficult to say farewell to the lovely owner and manager there who looked after all her guests as best friends, from when walking in the door.
Lovely place and surrounds and first experience with life in the province. People so friendly and kids so happy and come out to give you high-five.

AustriaBucana Guesthouse is directly at the beach - you got morning breeze while delicious breakfast and you can watch the hide tide come in at night 🥰 Everything was perfect. Communication super easy. Way to the guesthouse was a Road with stones but easy reachable. The owner explain everything very exact you just have to ask. Rooms are nice big with a warddrobe to put things. Bathroom is simple :) and of course they only have cold water but it's fine since there is 30 degrees outside 👍🏼 Food is super and everybody helps you with any inquiries. ❣️ Hope to see you again sometime! Thanks again for everything 🐢

IrelandRoads to the guesthouse are very bad, there is no vehicle bridge in the nearby town so getting there by vehicle there is one road in and the same road out. This wasn't a problem for me and may actually be to some people's liking as it keeps the place quiet.
Lovely place right on the beach, secluded and quiet. Rooms have Air-conditioning if needed. Meals are provided for a very reasonable price. Rooms are basic but very clean and tidy, very good for the price.
