Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne of the days, a member of staff in the restaurant made a huge deal out of us apparently sitting at the managers table. We moved after he insisted, but no one actually sat there whilst we ate breakfast elsewhere - it seemed like an unnecessary power trip. The restaurant/breakfast area is open to the elements so during a typhoon it can get pretty breezy and wet! The shower was a water fall shower, the pressure wasn't great and you couldn't adjust the height so if you didn't want to wash your hair it was a little awkward to use!
Picked up from the airport, didn't even know this was going to happen! Friendly staff at the reception desk and throughout the hotel services. On the last day when the flights had been cancelled due to the storm, the gentleman on the desk kindly arranged a bus for us to Puerto Princesa very short notice and helped us retrieve our laundry, we were very grateful! Great selection at breakfast everyday and some nice things on the standard menu too. Room service only came when you asked which was refreshing! Pool looked great but unfortunately the weather got in the way of us using it. We paid for a twin room which was quite small but perfectly functional. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping topped things up for us after making a short phone call.

PortugalWe had a minor problem with the shower heater, that didn't heat much the water... but that, you can handle in a tropical island... the hard part was it started dripping at night (around 4:00am) and there was no one to fix it!
The place is nice, the view is even better. Everyone from the hotel staff tries to help you, in a very pleasent way. Breakfast was great with several but limited options, in a bufet style. They also had tuktuk, to take you to the center!

United KingdomVery dissapointed about the towels look like not dry properly ? I guess in this kind of hotel it ahould be dry in a commercial tumble dryer. Even the face towel put in my face while having massage smell really bad. Hoping this will get some good action for good ofveveryone.
Nice and peaceful place to stay in between Lio and town. Breakfast just ok.

I had a wonderful stay — the room, the pool, and all the facilities were great! But what truly made the experience outstanding was the staff. They were incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning from an outside restaurant, but the staff went above and beyond to assist me and make sure I was okay. Their support truly made a tough situation so much better. After that, I only trusted the food from Charlie’s — and it didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend this Hotel

United StatesOverall, I really liked Charlie’s, but there were a few things that could be improved. The Good: • The pool is beautiful and very well-maintained. • Breakfast had a lot of variety and was consistently good. • I enjoyed the food at the restaurant overall. • Front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. • My room was cool, clean, and smelled fresh. I liked the decor and appreciated the nice TV. Areas for Improvement: • Shuttle service: The drop-off and pick-up locations were inconsistent. I confirmed with the driver that the return shuttle from Lío Beach would pick me up where I was dropped off, but that ended up not being true. I waited for the shuttle in a poorly lit parking lot after dark, which felt really unsafe as a solo female traveler. I later learned the original driver had dropped me off at a different location than the pick-up. • Massage service: The quality was disappointing. I booked the massage hoping to relieve back pain after 41 hours of travel from Canada, but she spent no more than five minutes on my back and the rest of the time on arms and legs. It ended 10 minutes early. The towels were rough and uncomfortable, the room smelled like mold, the bedding was stained, and the door didn’t fully close—leaving little privacy. • Room condition: The paint on my door was chipped and peeling, which made the space feel a bit neglected. Hot water only lasted about two minutes during showers. Despite these issues, I still had a good stay and think with a few tweaks, Charlie’s could be even better.

United KingdomI noted the shuttle service only had one time for the morning to El Nido town and Lio beach, but many times in the afternoon/evening. It would be nice to have more shuttle service times throughout the day - especially for El Nido town.
Breakfast was amazing, pool was great too! Staff were all welcoming and very accommodating and surprised us with a cute towel birthday cake for my little sister on her birthday! The shuttle service was also very helpful. Overall, an amazing stay!

United KingdomLoved the location close to Lio Beach although it is quite a distance from El Nido town. The vibe and atmosphere is relaxed. My balcony was a nice sun trap in the afternoon. The food was good and the breakfast buffet is varied. Bed was really comfy and really appreciated my room upgrade. The staff are lovely and helpful. I would stay here again and therefore recommend.

Czech RepublicThe gym could be at least once a month cleaned, after my first training it looked like there was not cleaned at all (pictures). The hotel services are bit pricy, even the scooters rental which you can rent 500meteres close to hotel for 40% lower price. I can't complain more since 2members including me from 3 members group had food poisoning. You can't control TV by remote controller since digital receiver is stored behind the TV.
Deluxe room was pretty good that friends had but standard could be better. Of course if you're from Europe do not expect standard of 4* stars as they present themselves, it's rather 3* Staff were were friendly they tried to help in most of the cases, weere smiling all the time. Nice pool area.

IrelandWe were a group of 4 we would have much preferred to pay instantly for what we got. There was a mix up with splitting bills for a massage, which we sorted at reception on the day but to our horror we were being charged again on check out.

United StatesThe property, in general, was very nice. The staff was great. The beds were ok, comfort wise. The breakfast was good, with a variety of selections. The property was a little pricey and is out of the way, but the shuttle service definitely helps make up for it. If you stay there, I suggest you walk to or from Lio beach and to the far end of the beach. You'll feel like your on a deserted island :-).

United StatesThe location isn’t ideal, as it’s not close to the town (15 min van). There were no shuttles at lunch time. The shower was either too hot or cold. Expensive dinner for ok food.
The room was quite big with a balcony with pool view, comfortable bed. The breakfast was varied and tasteful. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle (at specific times) to the town and Lio beach.

RomaniaThe restaurant offers tasty food like everywhere in Philippines. Standing over 3 weeks in different locations, I was shocked by the small portions offered by this hotel. Example: pork adobo contains 3-4 very small pieces of meat with a total of less than 50 grams. It is a way to trick customers, similar prices but small portions. The weights are not listed in the menu. Very close by hotel is a restaurant with decent portions. I recommend that restaurant.
First of all I appreciated the hotel staff: professional, polite and always with a smile of their face. The room B-111 is elegant, offers all the confort of the guests. The hotel has 2 medium-sized swimming pools with sunchairs and beach towel. Free transfer to/ from airport as well as free transfer to the center of the city according to a set scedule. Otherwise, the return trip to the center is over 10 euros ( fix price).
