We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

ItalySERVICES – 4/10 The services were overpriced and poorly promoted. We often felt lost and unsupported by the host, even though the person handling everything was friendly and charming. It would have been great if the nearby hotels coordinated to offer a shared boat tour to El Nido, as private tours cost around €200. The kayak provided was broken, and no alternative activities or recommendations were offered by the host. There were no good snorkeling spots, no scenic walking paths, and overall, nothing particularly inviting or warm from the hosting side. The food was bland and portion sizes were small. It seemed like standard frozen meals from a hotel chain, with no variety or fresh daily specials – just the same offer repeated each day. They even ran out of beer. Fortunately, we brought our own, though we had to store it in their fridge. The host’s family stays on-site and their kids were often playing and shouting around the property. While this might be acceptable at a mid-range guesthouse, it felt out of place in a place marketed and priced as a high-end “resort.” ⸻ PRICE – 5/10 The place is extremely overpriced for what it offers – both the rooms and the services. It feels like a “touristy” resort with high prices but without the level of quality or comfort to match. If you count that a couple pay the room 130€ (with booking offer or 250€), plus lunch, dinner and drinks for 80€ and 100/200 for activities, for a total of 350/400€ per night. Comparing with Marriott resort or any other you can evaluate that it is not a great offer. Maybe for just one night! ⸻ ROOM – 5/10 The room was basic – no air conditioning, an uncomfortable mattress, and only average cleanliness. The walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors snoring and, unfortunately, vomiting one night due to stomach issues.
LOCATION – 9/10 The setting is stunning. The views are incredible, and just to the left, we spot a beautiful coral reef with vibrant violet corals that felt almost otherworldly. The location is private, isolated, peaceful, and truly feels exclusive and outside the chaos and bad smell of El Nido.

CanadaThe resort is in a remote location 1.5 hrs away from El Nido airport. The property is metres away from the beach. The beach was very beautiful and we had gorgeous weather throughout, Rose and Rome and all the other resort staff were very friendly and helpful. We went on Tour A, arranged by the resort. Everything went smoothly during our stay. Communication with one of the owners was very easy and they responded with so much detail that there were no surprises on our trip. My only constructive feedback would be is to have a couple more dish options in the menu (beef, pork, or chicken) and snacks like chips, ice cream, etc.

Belgium- weak to no wifi signal outside of the dining area, they do not want to give you the wifi password, they type it on your phone for you. no wifi or internet reception in the rooms -nothing in the room to put your stuff on like a shelf or a table, so everything needs to stay in your bag or on the floor -the food could use some generosity. For instance the ‘oatmeal with fruits and nuts’ for breakfast just had a couple of tiny pieces of fruit as decoration and no nuts at all, so it was actually just oatmeal. -undrinkable coffee :( -overpriced food, go to the restaurant nearby (Kaka Ming’s place, delicious Philippino food for 1/4 th of the price) -no own transportation, which ends up being expensive, 5000 pesos one way for an external driver. While getting to the intersection of the main road from El Nido with their road turned out to be easy. Just hop on a shared van to Taytay (150 ps) and ask get out at the intersection. Find a ride from someone at the waiting booth. It is 30 minutes from there on. -they charge extra money for the use of kayak, 500. The kayak turned out to have leaks and we sank in the middle of the bay, which was both dangerous and scary. We ended up getting rescued by a nearby resort. DK2 have no boat of their own. -extremely expensive private tours, 12000 for a private boat -no knowledge of the neighborhood, they could not tell us where the nearest good reef and snorkel place is for instance -chaotic/insecure organisation -the curtains above the bed will blow onto your face the while time when closed and there is wind -no little night light to the outside bathroom, I sleepily fell off the steps down in the middle of the night -they have a pretty and well designed menu, and then no print of it.
This resort is so difficult to review! I liked the people, the bay is just beautiful, but it has a lot of unfulfilled potential. They blame the distance to the road and the recent startup, but it seems they were just in a hurry to open up instead of fine tuning first. + tranquil and very beautiful bay + clean + tasteful + incredibly comfy bed with quality bed sheets + free water + nice outside bathroom with warm water + clean food + cute cosy porch in front of the room, nice sun beds around the property + we got a walkie talkie when going kayaking

A true gem! A family run resort with super service. Very good restaurant with both Asian and Western alternatives, and if you want something not on the menu just talk to the chef and she will fix it for you. The location is beautiful, you are almost alone on a beach and if you want, they will arrange the same boat trips that you do in El Nido, but private at a fair price. Or even better, you design your own and pick the best from the different tours. We were a bit afraid of not having A/C but it turned out to be just fine, there is always a nice breeze at the resort and the fan by the bed does the job. Loved the beds also by the way. Service and family feeling is really what stands out at this resort, from the booking until we left, just ask for something, like massage, and they will fix it for you.

United StatesRestaurant needs some work, dinner especially (overcooked fish and tough meat). You need to order food in advance and timing sometimes off. Breakfast OK and also good lunch pack for boat trips. No surprise here, but no AC and shared bathroom.
Excellent location, like a private beach. Great boat trips departing directly from hotel local pier, no need to drive to El Nido. Remote and very beautiful and quiet.

BelgiumThe bathroom of our cottage is outside the house. It is well fenced, but if you need to visit the toilet in the middle of the night, it feels a bit awkward that you need to go outside. The rooms have no TV (which was ok since we stayed only one night) and there is no airco. As permanent residents of the Philippines we are used to sleep without airco, but for some travellers airco is a must.
We appreciated very much the friendly welcome and personal treatment by the sraff (which is mostly the family of the owner). They also provided a special treat for my wife's birthday.. The location is very special, on the seashore of the Pangulatan bay, at 20km by boat to El Nido. You can do island hopping from the resort, which we did not do because we just stayed one night. The restaurant and rooms are large and tastefully decorated. The bed was super comfortable (new quality mattress). The food in the restaurant is very tasty, with next to Filipino traditionals, also a touch of Spanish cuisine.

United StatesIt's clear that this area does not have the infrastructure for development of resort scale and kitchen waste ends up in the sea (there was no sign of anything like fish and grease flowing into the water) when there are several glamping style resorts in this small bay and more under construction. This is glamping at best and there should not really be full scale restaurants or hotels unless there is adequate infrastructure, waste removal, etc.
If you want to be completely isolated it's a nice place. There was a beautiful little beach area but no signs of fish or marine life.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel is located in a remote area… definitely you will get peace… more than you would like. The view is amazing but nothing special! All the region is gorgeous ❤️ But the hotel is overpriced, we were planned to stay 5 nights but we couldn’t resist so we left 2 days before ( even if we lose money). We stayed in the shared bungalow, the room was very hot because they gave us just one fan for 2 beds, the toilet was a disaster.. when you flush the wc the water raised up and it has a leak so when you flush it, the water also go out from the bottom of the wc. If you go to DK2 you need to work the patient! The food takes years to arrive to the table! It is very expensive and is not nice dishes… but the worst is the cost of the tours, they are charging crazy prices… 15 times more than what you will pay if you stay close to El Nido town. We left 2 days before and booked in other hotel with pool and buffet (same price) close to the town and the foods was amazing, very cheap transportation and tours A,b,c,d for less than 1500 pesos per person. Last but not least! They asked 5500 pesos per person plus VAT to pick up is from airport to hotel (1:30 hour for the ride) so 3 people around 16000 pesos only for the pick up… we decided to go by ourselves and we took a taxi in the airport ( which supposed to be expensive) and charged only 4000 pesos for all of us ! Ah! They charged VAT but they don’t give you official invoice so surely they are not paying taxes but taking from our pocket. I challenged to give me official invoice and just delayed and put excuses. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so we gave tips for them! Everyone was amazing but still need to work hard to improve the quality of the hotel and prices should be more reasonable. I will come back to El nido because it is a beautiful destination but surely I will not come back to DK2 or even recommend this place 👎

AustraliaYes it is a beautiful setting, very peaceful, lovely beach, very picturesque. But I think it is way over priced. I really did not want to write an honest review as I feel sorry for the owner but after reading previous reviews where most of what I am saying has already been said and nothing has been done about it I think it is unfair to other travellers not to review it. It is promoted as a family run business, but the person we communicated with, is in Spain which was a big surprise! The food is very average at best, limited choices, and there are no other food options in the area. It is not the same looking food as in the recent promo photos.....nothing like it....We had overcooked fish, and generally the food could have been a lot better as they had all the good ingredients. They have espresso coffee on the menu, even double espresso but it is just local brewed coffee..... and even though we were the only people there you have to order in advance, 6pm they are pushing for dinner orders, and then after dinner you have to order breakfast. Unusual. Although the cabin is located on the ground level there are 4 or 5 steps to the balcony and entrance. No problem, sort of expect this but inside the cabin there are 3 very steep, large steps to the bathroom, and then 2 very steep and large steps up to the toilet and shower. These steps are NOT in the photographs or in the room description. Also the toilet is very, very low set, we are both in our mid 60's, and just managed in this room. A sitting area is a pillow on the ground with a low set table. On the balcony is a small wooden bench seat, but I asked for something a little more comfortable and we were given a couple of old chairs.
Lovely location, quiet, beautiful beach. There are only 2 cabins, one has a private bathroom and sleeps 6 although it would be a very tight fit! The other cabin has a shared bathroom and shared living room between 2 rooms.

United StatesNOTE: Property is about an hour outside of El Nido center and 5-6 hours north of Puerto Princesa. Yes it is slightly out of the way to get here from either airport but it is well worth the trek.
DK2, DK2, DK2 - Where do I begin? It took me about a week or so to pull the trigger on booking a stay here as I planned my trip to Palawan due to the property being located a bit far outside of El Nido center. I knew that I wanted to book something quiet and private with a beautiful view but wasn’t sure I was up for the trek to the property as I would be traveling from a 10-day silent retreat in the mountains and anticipated being exhausted by the time I touched down. As I scanned through properties more centrally located, I found myself continually coming back to the lengthy reviews previous guests had left about DK2 and knew people wouldn’t take the time to do that if the place weren’t special. So I locked it in… and I’m SO glad I did. I just spent the 3 days at DK2 and from the moment I arrived, Ivan and his team went out of their way to make me feel at home. While the location is somewhat tricky to get to, it truly adds to what makes the experience so great. You have your own private beach and home-cooked meals from the woman, the myth, the legend - Rea! The king-sized bed was the comfiest I’ve had yet in the Philippines and the outdoor shower and bathroom added to the experience and helps you remember you’re there to experience the Filipino landscape, not stay boarded up in a stuffy Aircon room in the middle of a tourist town. If you’re looking for something off the beaten track, beautifully renovated, and a space to kick back, relax, and unwind, DK2 is absolutely the place for you. Ivan, Bon, and Rea made an incredible place all that much better. I was even able to meet 2 of Rea’s daughters, Sheena and Nika, and her husband, June took me out for a private tour of a nearby waterfall in a truely local fishing boat. An experience you won’t get in El Nido town. DK2 took home away from home to another level.

United StatesI did notice that some reviews seem to reflect misunderstandings about this property. It’s important to note that this is a local, small family business—not a large international chain resort—and it should be appreciated on its own merits. In my opinion, it surpasses other local facilities in comfort and amenities. While getting here takes some time, the hosts are super helpful in arranging reliable and comfortable transportation.
I was searching for a peaceful retreat by the ocean to rest and recharge, and this resort was exactly what I needed. My room was just 15 steps from the tranquil beach, where I spent hours soaking in the calm and enjoying the deserted, open shore. The food was fabulous, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to make sure I felt at home. The room clean, with a super comfortable bed and electric outlets compatible with all international plugs—a rare and convenient feature, plus an outdoor shower that was unique and fun. The hosts are committed to sustainability, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into making every guest's stay enjoyable, not to mention the so affordable and wonderful massage services. This exotic retreat provided the perfect escape from the noise of daily life, and I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired.

DK2 resort is a beautiful hidden gem about 1.5 hour drive from El Nido, the staff can organise a driver for you or you can get your own way there privately. The people that work here, May and her children and the workers will go above and beyond to make sure your stay in comfortable. When I arrived I was travelling alone and incredibly home sick. They sat and chatted with me over dinner, sharing recommendations for places to try on the rest of my travels and some of their own stories. They were so hospitable, making me feel so comfortable and welcomed. The amenities are incredible, it’s been newly renovated and considering how remote the resort is, I was astounded at how all the materials and supplies had been so wonderfully selected. Things I loved most about my stay that made it stand out from anywhere I had been before was seeing how important being environmentally conscious was to May and her family as well as the importance of caring for their workers and the community they live in. Small details like having glass straws and not using paper to do the check in information showed me how dedicated these people are to the environment. May out sources some of the work at the resort to local workers who are looked after by the family so well, if you’re lucky the workers children might be around showing you local sea life and playing on the beach. Tours for island hopping are also done through local people from the village. If you’re not already convinced to come stay here, the food!!! The food is incredible. Prepared by their chef, with the most local ingredients. Fish caught that day by locals and purchased by May, coconuts gathered from their trees, other produce collected at the local market only 5min drive away. And with your breakfast, enjoy a coffee machine made coffee - amazing. Don’t like Filipino food? All good, the families Spanish roots ensure you are also provided with some western options as well.

ChinaAfter reading comments from previous visitors in this place my expectations were excessive and it's always nicer to be surprised positively than get disappointed. That’s why I want to bring up some critics. The remote location is good for people looking for peace outside tourist areas. However, services and activities should be more available. The area is tiny. Some watersport equipment are available, but only for additional pay. The beach is very shallow which is nice and safe for kids but has many underwater sharp rocks and is unpleased to walk. The place has two houses. The separate bungalow with a double bed and two bunk beds in one small room, inside toilet. The bigger house has a lounge, rooms for two and four people and a shared toilet under the sky. The pricing of the bungalow is wrong. It’s cheaper to book a quadruple and twin rooms instead of a bungalow and the space is much more. Value of the You should bring your own snacks and drinks as there are no shops or restaurants nearby but the rooms don’t have a fridge or any kind of kitchenware. Rooms are without aircon or ceiling fans which make it nearly impossible to dry your clothes because of tropical humidity. Island hopping can be arranged, but only private trips that are very expensive for small groups.

United StatesDK2 is an excellent, family-run small scale resort. We stayed there for 4 nights (family of 4) and very much enjoyed our stay. The resort is away from the busy city of El Nido and has a nice beach right in front. They can arrange kayak and SUPs to rent, and also offer private boat trips (for island hopping) at a very reasonable price, and they pick you up right at the resort. The tour was superb, and a much better experience than joining a shared trip with 20-25 people. The rooms have plenty of space, include two ventilators and have an outdoor bathroom. When booking a quadruple room, you share the bathroom with 1 other room. Bungalows do have a private bathroom. Breakfast is excellent, there are 5 options to choose from and it is freshly made for you. Also lunch and dinner options are very good, and not expensive at all. Last but least, the service is excellent. They make you feel at home and are always available to help out and give tips. The location is somewhat remote - about 50 minutes from the main road, partially unpaved. For us not an issue as we rented a car, but something to take into account.
