How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis place was magical. We wished we stayed here longer but only had one night to enjoy this paradise. The room was really comfortable and had amenities considered for a safe and comfortable stay--from insect repellent lotion, spray, to sink towels, notes, and many more which I think are sometimes overlooked. My overthinker self felt seen and validated! haha. It was everything I imagined (from the pictures) and more. I wouldn't mind getting a short tour and chat from the owner, but I understand that guests are given the privacy they deserve. The tree sounds and feels alive as you hear some branches creak and leaves rustle as winds pass. It felt humbling and peaceful. I could not recommend this place enough.
There are lots of mosquitoes so please manage your expectations. I am a mosquito magnet but that did not affect my rating and satisfaction. hehe I'm not sure if you can book for more people or this is only for 2 guests since I didn't see other rooms in the area. But would be nice to have extra rooms to accommodate more people.

The way you described the tree and its sounds was beautiful—we’re glad you felt the peaceful connection with nature that we hoped to create here. Regarding the mosquitoes, thank you for mentioning this. Being close to nature with stream, ponds, plants and trees means we regularly get extra little visitors, but we do our best to make it comfortable for guests who love to enjoy nature outside the room by providing repellants, sprays and an electric mosquito zapper. We also understand that some people are mosquito magnets that's why we also provided an electric fan in the dining area downstairs to keep them at bay for our guests. Regarding your question on accommodations: the treehouse is designed for 2 guests, but we also have another unit, a cozy kubo, which is also good for 2 persons. This way, friends or small groups can book both units if they’d like to stay close together. Thank you again for your wonderful recommendation. Verified reviewOasis in the City. It was really peaceful and you can definitely relax away from the busy hustle of the city. Our overall experience in a treehouse was so amazing. It gives you the opportunity to cook your own meal in the open kitchen and can do things freely.I really recommend this place.
Only that we experienced a gecko getting inside the bathroom 😂. And the cover of the toilet is already broken and some minor things that were not checked prior to the check in like the television in the treehouse are no longer working but they do a quick action right away to make us feel comfortable.

Verified reviewAmazing place to stay the surroundings of the pond and the tree house itself we're lovely. Kitchen had everything you needed, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Aircon worked great and room was big enough for two people.
Location was a bit away from things but you could find decent restaurants within 5/10 minute trike away.

Verified reviewThe treehouse was a fun place to stay and the host family were very friendly and welcoming. Before arriving I received instructions and photos to help me find the property. The treehouse was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There were places to put clothes and stuff. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and also shampoo/shower gel. Underneath the bedroom/bathroom the kitchen and seating area were also well equipped. The fridge was nice and cold. There was hot or cold drinking water provided as well as tea and coffee. In addition to this seating area there were some sun loungers and other chairs and tables for a different view over the garden and lily pond. It’s about 15 minutes’ walk to the mall with a food court and supermarket. Or along the way there are a few smaller local shops and eateries. A laundry is a few minutes’ walk away. Thank you to all the team for a happy and memorable stay in Dumaguete. I would recommend it!
A good way to improve further might be to fit screens on a few of the windows to make it easier to air the room without getting bugs inside.

Verified reviewThis hotel is try an OASIS in the city! Located a couple of kilometers outside the city you can truly get away from the outside world in your own paradise here. The house is super unique and the garden lovely. Free coconuts and very friendly staff is a nice bonus here! Highly recommended if you want to really chill and wind down

Verified reviewIt was very unusual and the tree house was beautiful. Always wanted to stay in a tree house which filled my dream. Stayed one night and had all the place to myself. The staff were very welcoming.
There was no coffee or tea provided. It was very hard to find the place , should have a sign board up. It me 4 hours to find even with google map On the whole very beautiful stay
