Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA quiet, well appointed resort that offers top notch service. It has a modern Filipino vibe using a lot of Ugo's pottery, clean and fresh, and almost every thing you need has been thought of. Booking was a breeze and even when I had to modify my booking they were easy to communicate with. The restaurant was reasonably priced, offering a good number of options. A definite must go to if you want to recharge from the hustle and bustle of city life.

PhilippinesThe only complaint I have is the door to the rooms. I am a very sensitive sleeper and the door had a glass window that allowed light to come in. I had trouble sleeping because of this. I hope they provide a curtain for those who would like complete darkness.
Loved the place and it was not very busy when I checked in. It was a great place to paint and relax! Food was lovely and the staff were very attentive.

JapanThe parking area was on grass, which means it was muddy to walk on after it rained. But this is not that big of an issue and it did not impact our stay.
The property was incredibly well-maintained. Every aspect of it was beautiful, from the green lawns to the hotel rooms and the public facilities, like the spa and the restaurant. Every building was designed with intention. The food was also delicious; we tried both international and Filipino dishes and several of the desserts and cocktails. Servings are generous. Myself, my partner, and my parents all got the full spa treatment and it was worth the cost—they have incredible masseuses. With only 12 rooms on the property, even though it was fully booked it often felt like we were the only people there. It gave us an incredible feeling of privacy. Mhai from Rodolfo's restaurant was both a lovely host and server who spoke to us about the property and ensured we had a wonderful stay. Everyone was very kind.

United StatesI booked through Booking.com since I have been using booking.com for over 10 years. I trust the site and the amount quoted prior to the stay. I have never been billed for unexpected charges. In fact I didn't even know about Jardin de Zaida but it showed up in my search. It seemed reasonable and I was quoted to expect taxes and fees of under Philippine Pesos 3,000 on top of the accommodation for 2 nights. I availed of spa services and lunch which were good experiences and reasonably priced. I settled the charges fully upon checkout but I missed a line item and thus questioned it after we left. I was charged 6,302.50 non-vatable sales in Philippine Pesos on top of our 2-night stay and incidentals. 6,302.50 non-vatable sales in Philippine Pesos wasn't itemized in the invoice. It was also not disclosed prior to the booking and when I asked for an explanation from the Manager, Jay promptly sent emails but his explanation didn't make sense to me. In the invoice the some of the vatable sales were repeated in the non-vatable sales thus in my eyes I was basically double-charged for some items I already paid for. I was hoping for transparency for the additional 6,302.50 non-vatable sales in Philippine Pesos. That's no small change. I am not happy about that unexpected charge. Will I stay there again? I think so but I would want to know up front what would be the non-vat sales that will be added on to the accommodation and incidentals.
El Jardin de Zaida was just 20 minutes drive from my mother's house so it was very accessible for us. We appreciated the room upgrade and free breakfast (that comes with my Genius Level 3). We liked the whole place, the serene surroundings, the facilities and the well appointed room. The buildings were set apart and there was a small pool just steps away from our villa. Everything was clean and the furniture were all tastefully done. The tv screen was small but we weren't there to watch so it wasn't an issue. I liked that they had a golf cart to bring my elderly mother to and from the restaurant. The staff were helpful and friendly. I liked the pool Breakfast was good with ample choices, both Filipino and western such as pancakes and bacon. The staff were very polite and helpful but we had to remind them to bring the tea my mother ordered on our second day.

PhilippinesFood options (I guess) but it was good nonetheless. It wasn’t a dealbreaker by any means. The rooms, although very clean, had a musky old smell, probably from not being used a lot? And the bed mattresses were a little too firm for my taste (this is just me nitpicking).
I love how peaceful and intimate it was. We were the only guests during our stay so it feels jarring (in a pleasant way) to be able to have the place all to ourselves. Love the pools and the old houses and nature surrounding the place. Wish we could have stayed longer. The kalamansi picking and biking and play area were great activities for us and my little one. The spa was also good!

NetherlandsActually everything was great also that I could use one of the mountain bikes. These were not super quality and the gear set was a bit worn out, but nevertheless it was great to cycle through the surrounding area and have a swim in the sea.
The spacious, well constructed and nicely furnished and decorated suite. The friendly staff in the restaurant and the quality of the food. The pool and the gardens. The jacuzzi under the stars.

United KingdomI would say the food could be better, but overall it was good.
The property was absolutely amazing. It wasnt a busy time when we went so it’s like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was a very relaxing place and the spa was just beautiful. The pool was also clean, both the main pool and the premier pool. They also gave us a free calamansi from their own garden which was very lovely.

PhilippinesFor one, the vanity mirror for the bedroom has to be in front of the desk. It was placed in an awkward part of the wall that was facing only one of the beds. A full mirror is most commonly seen and used near the doorway so guests can have a look at their outfit before leaving the room. The shower must also have a non-slip mat to prevent any slippery accidents. Another point that I should mention is the Spa. We found out about the property and its wonderful spa through a celebrity shoutout but it did not meet our expectations. We called prior to the visit to ask if a reservation was needed but we were told that there was no need to do so. We proceeded with our visit but unfortunately, during our stay we were not able avail of the Spa services at all as they only had one therapist and there was three of us. It would be impossible to finish on time if we had to wait for each one of our group members to finish with their session (which was 2.5 hrs as indicated on the list of services). We hope that the hotel will be diligent enough to make sure this doesn't happen to future guests as it is always a good thing for visitors to have a wholistic experience, whether it is wellness or anything else.
El Hardin De Zaida was situated in a location that was about 3 hours away from our address. The stay was great and it was just what we needed at the time. My group and I liked the rooms and the layout of the land. We needed a relaxing getaway and that was what we got. There was stable WiFi access all throughout the property and the food was excellent. If anyone needed a quiet getaway with a little thrill of a night out, they even had a bar where they served great choices of bar food and custom made house drinks. The karaoke machine is definitely a stand out as it's just to most modern version of it all.
