How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location, very near the beach, large room with AC and ceiling fans that could accommodate our family of 4. Free drinking water, hot and cold.
There was a storm so it was a little cold but only one bed had a duvet, no blankets available when I requested.

Verified reviewWe didn’t end up staying here as the location was too unpleasant. The room was a good size and clean though and the roof terrace had great views.
The location was only a few hundred metres from the nice area but wow what a difference. Derelict shacks, stagnant water and horrible smells were overwhelming and meant we couldn’t stay.

Verified reviewdown towards the far end of town on sort of a side street so it was quieter. The staff helped lug our bags upstairs. Being charitable I'd say they're doing the best they can with the limited resources available.
the shower didn't work. That's the second time on this vacation I've stayed in a room where the shower didn't work. I mean I recognize I'm going budget here but really, in this Philippine heat you need to rinse off, even if it's just a trickle.

1. Hotel cleaning - the room was dirty , the beds had black dots all over them. 2. Wasps - the hotel is full of wasps, they are everywhere and no one informed us of this situation before our stay which is extremely dangerous for people who are allergic (no that they cared about it). The room window was broken and the wasps came inside of the bathroom when taking a shower. The hotel stuff was mostly unavailable(for example 20 minutes of waiting after letting them know we cant get into the room and so on.)
Dear Dolev, Good evening, and thank you for taking the time to share your review. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the presence of wasps during your stay. While these insects are not originating from our property, we understand how bothersome they can be. Due to the island’s natural environment, such occurrences can sometimes be unavoidable- especially as wasps are often attracted to light. Please be assured that we conduct daily sanitation and disinfection routines to maintain a clean and safe environment for all our guests. Your comfort and safety are always our highest priorities, and we strive to make Hanna’s Inn feel like a second home here in El Nido. Regarding the incident that occurred around 11:30 PM, we understand that waiting at that hour must have been frustrating. Although our staff is not on duty 24/7, we did our best to assist you as quickly as possible, and we truly appreciate your patience during that time. Once again, we apologize if your experience did not fully meet your expectations. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will continue to work on improving our service and hospitality. Thank you and take care. Warm regards, Hanna’s Inn El Nido Management

Verified reviewThe rooftop was very nice. Staff very friendly and when we asked for the cleaning staff they were swift and effeciant. Remember to ask for coffee etc. They do not tell you about it. Unfortunately this Inn lies next to Roosters that crows day and night. Constantly as they are tied up. At night because if the cat fights and street dogs barking. With extra tequila it will not bother you. But i do not drink. So thinking of a well rested experience. Forget it. Such a pity as the Inn is very promising.

Verified reviewGood location, helpful staff, descent rooms (bit overpriced for the quality though), relatively clean. Good breakfast
Rooms / facilities were ok, but for the quality of rooms the prices were bit high. So not great “value for money”

Verified reviewIt was a room to sleep in for the night.
I would vote this as the most ridiculously priced accommodation I've ever stayed in during my travels (almost 70 countries). Unfortunately we got stuck in El Nido due to our expedition being cancelled so had little option but to stay here. At first, I thought they might be price gauging to take advantage of the lack of rooms but to be fair this room was discounted from the usual price that month (worrying!). The room is fine, it's comfortable enough, the AC works, it's the usual shower over the toilet, warm enough but low pressure. The room is extremely noisy, it's located right next to a residential area, who like to play guitar/karaoke late into the evening and then the dogs/cockerels pick up where they left off around 4am (no complaints, that's absolutely their right to do so, they live there and we are just guests passing through). It also smells quite bad on the road by the hotel, as there are overflowing drains/sewers nearby (which is unfortunately a problem with El Nido town infrastructure beyond everyone's control and no doubt exacerbated by tourists including me). This is all fine for us, we have been backpacking in the Philippines for 7 weeks, staying in budget accommodation in local areas, so we are very used to it, we put our ear plugs in and got on with it. The point that must be made is about the price charged by this hotel v what they are able to offer. If you are on your holiday or are assuming you will be getting something good due to the price you are paying (almost Western Europe prices); you will be very disappointed. To sum up the owner's approach, we were told on arrival that breakfast was included in the room price and the time to come for it. In the morning though, we were told by the guy running the kitchen it was a mistake and the owner (who wasn't around to explain it) had told them to tell us we weren't allowed it and if we wanted it; we would have to pay.

Verified review-Location was awful, there is a sewage half a block before the building and the smell is felt threw out at least two blocks (including the entrance street). We actually booked another place and left a couple of days earlier. -the place doesn’t feel very safe, there is no security at night, the entrance is just “open” to anybody…they can come right in, so the only security is the lock on your door. -Front desk closes at 17:00hrs aprox.

Verified reviewStaff. WiFi and shower better than reviews.
Massively over priced. We stayed in a beautiful new duplex apartment nearby for £18 on more, this wasn’t worth half the price. Smelly drains. Located in the poorest part of the town, locals were very friendly - but very noisy and sewer smells.

Verified reviewHonestly hard to find something positive to say The room is big staff are semi helpful but need to be prompted
Little love and no attention to detail with how the room is set up - bedside lamp would be nice Internet/ wifi is unusable It’s in the poor neighbourhood extremely noisy all hours of day and night area of el Nido Aircon is old and noisy And was ridiculously expensive, definitely not worth the money so you can tell owners are in it for profit purposes as minimal hospitality is provided

Verified reviewFriendly staff, motorbike rental(good bikes), laundry service (expensive, but convenient)
The room was worth €25,- a night. Instead it costed almost €100,- per night. Even though it was high season the amount was way to much. For that money you get a comfortable room in any city in Europe. Shower blasting against a wooden door is asking for problems(hence the mould on the ceiling). The neighbourhood children church blasting music on Sunday morning. The Peacocks/chickens and crying puppy at night
