How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe place is a very nice, rural place. Facilities are very good, staff is very very kind. Right inside the Banaue region. I definitely recommend this place if you organise your Manila-Banaue-Manila transfer. Requires some adaptation to local reality, but yhis is expected and also a target of the trip. I was going to rate it less fot the issues with had with services, but I need to increase by 1 mark thanks to the wonderful smile and eyes of the very young lady at the hotel who was always around trying (and succeeding) to communicate and be useful.
1) At the hotel, jnfortunately nobody spoke more than 3 words of english, although they were making efforts. 2) We reserved all services through the hotel. The Manila to Banaue transfer was perfect, the tours were very good, the return transfer to Manila was an absolute nightmare. This takes the evaluation down
Thank you for leaving us with an honest review sir, we appreciate it. We apologize if there have been inconveniences for your transport going back to Manila due to unforeseen circumstances. We wish you well and good on the rest of your travels.

Verified reviewThe house itself offered a rustic charm, giving us a glimpse into traditional living. The peaceful surroundings and cultural atmosphere made it feel like a true escape into nature.
while the experience was authentic, some modern comforts were lacking, making the stay a bit less comfortable than expected

Verified reviewThe food in the restaurant was pretty good and very reasonably priced. Nona Gloria was very accommodating.
The native hut was very difficult to access and way too basic with outdoor facilities (it was raining!). But Nona Gloria put us in an indoor room with a wonderful view.

Verified reviewThe property is good and it’s nice and cozy
I guess what we didn’t like about it is that we got robbed twice! Not once, but twice! Our food that we brought for bonfire was underneath our hut together with our shoes and other things and it was robbed just on the first day. From there it was already horrific because there were no areas where we can buy our food, everything is so far away. After that, we just played card games and drank some local wine and bought ready-made food near a restaurant. The next night, our playing cards along with some other socks were gone when we head back to sleep! It’s crazy how there were no people there, i’m almost 100% sure that it was one of the staff or helper staying there that robbed us.
Dear Mr. Dave, thank you for leaving us with a review. We are sorry if you have lost some of your items, but our place is a viewing area with some guests visiting our view deck during day time. Hence, please do not blame or make assumptions with our staff we are not responsible for any items lost, advisories are written and signages are posted to always keep you personal inside your rooms and lock them when leaving our property. In addition, we will implement more strict measures to prevent this thing from happening again. Once again, we apologize and we hope you enjoy the rest of your trip here in the Philippines.

Verified reviewVery charming traditional houses remodeled to guest rooms, on the top of the hill with a great feeling and view whether there was fog or sunshine. Bare minimum amenities and bathrooms outside of the room (quite obvious) so you don’t come here for these but for the location and the experience. Good food also provided on demand.
Dear Mr. Loukas, thank you so much for leaving us with an honest and amazing review! We hope you had an amazing and memorable experience. Enjoy the rest of your trip here in the Philippines!

Verified reviewCozy room, free toiletries
Our room did not have wifi yet, toilet is a bit far and is advisable to bring a portable toilet for old people who frequent toilet visits especially at night. Kept banging our head because of low clearance but it is not the property’s fault; slippery stairs going up again not the property’s fault because we stayed while it was raining and fogging (Dec 24)
