Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The bamboo house is really beautiful and magical! It has everything you need for a short stay. The host has been great and helped us finding and booking everything we needed. Really recommend! Thank you

Czech RepublicWe fell asleep to the sound of the waves, from 2am onwards the waves were replaced by the roosters, which abounded around the area and never stopped. 😂
Very helpful and accommodating owner, there was no problem with late night arrival. The roosters will not let you sleep but you will see a beautiful sunrise. You enjoy breakfast in the garden and thanks to the proximity of the neighbours you are like a local for a while.

IndiaThere is a rooster that runs around the neighborhood and he is insomniac. He will wake you up early🥲
Assisted timely for a late night checkin. Prompt communication, very polite owner. 1 bhk hut with seaview. Provided all toiletries, towels and even mosquito repellents. The property also has a gas stove, kettle and a complete kitchen. Fast wifi, a big screen TV with a good quality sound bar.

It’s just a small bungalow next to the old port - if you didn’t catch your ferry it’s great to stay here overnight. Dont worry about the neighbors- they are all super nice and helpful!

PolandBe aware that everything is open and the nature around is quite loudly, especially the roosters and dogs in the early morning. Therefore, I would not recommend it for light sleepers and people who generally value peace and comfort. The bed is also a bit hard, I would probably not recommend for a longer stay. Might also become a bit too packed for more than 2 ppl.
The Hut is located at the waterfront with an amazing view in the morning. It has all utilities you would need and is a good size for 2 people. The owners are extremely friendly and the location is close enough (10-15 min walk) to the ferry taking you to Malapascua. It is a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience.

PhilippinesThe only problem is the noise at night from dogs, chickens, mosquitoes, people talking and singing and engine noises (boats and motorbikes). I got no sleep at all, but that did mean I was up to see the sunrise 🌄
This is a great little place in a very convenient location for Maya port to Malapasqua or getting a bus across to go to Bantayan. The hut has a lovely garden and patio with a beautiful sunset view. There are a few shops and places to eat close by and a little kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook something. The upstairs sitting area is nice

TaiwanThis kind of bamboo home is charming but just be prepared that you can hear everything through the walls, and it's very close to the neighbors and they have a rooster. Some folks might be bothered by the mosquitos. It was sort of a rustic, local experience. It was worth it, don't get me wrong. But make sure you are OK with that. Personally, I loved it.
Absolutely lovely and helpful staff! Made me feel right at home. The location is very interesting. Right by the ocean. Very cute room. Everything you'd need. There is even a TV set up with Netflix, just as advertised.

NetherlandsUnfortunately the hut is located next to where the fisherboats are. Maybe you will hear them leave in the middle of the night. It was a bit noisy during the night.
The owners of the hut are very helpful and sweet. Besides that the facilities are very good. In case of a rainy day there is a huge smart tv available to watch Netflix on. Other than that the hut is completely from bamboo and all the plants inside will make you feel gooood.

United KingdomAs it is so remote you can’t eat out nearby, we really enjoyed cooking for the first time on our trip with local produce. There’s a nearby bakery as well. Be prepared for lots of mosquitoes

IsraelIt was dirty, smelled bad, got a weird vibe from the staff and felt really uncomfortable. The whole area around was really loud you can hear everything around you and we woke up to the neighbors karaoke party at 7am. It’s not close to the maya-malapascua port as advertised (20 min walk and not 3).
The staff was available. Spacious.
