This property was phenomenal, great location close enough to General Luna, but still distant enough for peace and quiet. The property had excellent Wi-Fi for my workation and the owners (Elvira and Joseph) were some of the warmest, kindest people I’ve ever met. They went above and beyond with thoughtful recommendations, even arranging an in-house massage, and I truly felt like I was staying with family. I can’t recommend this place enough and will absolutely be returning. Thank you Elvira and Joseph for a stay in Siargao that exceeded my expectations.

Joseph and Elvira are the loveliest hosts ever. Everything we needed they had and the space was impeccable. The room was so clean and aesthetic and we felt right at home. We were also able to rent a scooter right on site for 450 pesos! Super convenient and perfect. You have to stay here

The only thing to improve in my opinion would be breakfast option. Doesnt need to be big varaity but would be great in case you want to spend the day at the house without leaving.

We loved every minute at the Mantaray in Siargao. Beautiful house, lush garden with lots of trees and flowers, quiet because its away from the main road, staff was super friendly and did the work around the house quietly to perfection. Elvira is a lovley host, always ready to help and to chat if you want to but not too pushy. Rooms are spacious, with a fridge and a wardrob, amazing bathroom and free coffee you can make yourself in the french press(was my life saver). Amazing stay, would never go anywhere else in Siargao.

A 5* stay! Elvira and Joseph are absolutely fabulous hosts. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the little touches of fresh coconuts, mango, candle burning on arrival really made our stay feel special. Their recommendations for local restaurants are all great, and this was some of the best food we had during our whole stay in the Philippines. We’re also incredibly grateful that Joseph spent his afternoon helping us get to various medical centres after my partner had a surfing accident, both he and Elvira were so generous and hospitable. The surfing itself was great fun and again a great recommendation as they helped us book the lesson. The rooms itself are beautiful, and with only 3 rooms at the property you often feel like you have the pool and beach front to yourself. Don’t be put off by needing to get a tuk tuk to the centre of town (although you can also walk we did this a couple of times) - this is so cheap and they’re so frequent it isn’t an inconvenience; if anything you have the benefit of being more secluded from the noise and nightlife.

Before arriving at Mantaray, we saw countless glowing reviews and were eager to see what made this place so special. The moment we arrived, it all became clear. Elvira warmly welcomed us into her beautifully maintained villa, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable stay. The villa features three elegantly designed guest rooms, each thoughtfully decorated with a refined touch—the bathrooms, in particular, are stunning. The lounge area, poolside, and beachfront exude serenity and comfort, making it the ideal escape. Elvira and her team go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels at home. She is always available, ready to assist with anything you need, and offers fantastic recommendations to explore the island. A special thank you to Marge, who greeted us with a warm smile at the airport and made our transfers seamless—her kindness truly stood out. This place is amazing!! I didn't want to leave. Host Elvira is such a wonderful person, greeted us upon arrival and was there to send us off as well. Gave us a tour of the house, welcomed us with cold coconut juice. Her home is so beautifully decorated, well curated decor items. There are only 3 rooms for rent in her house so book it when it's available. My room was very comfortable and spacious. Highlight is the outdoor shower! There is a water dispenser so just bring your water bottle. There's a French press and coffee provided as well so you can chill at the outdoor lounge. Plenty of good recommendations for meals! And the in room massage was incredible! Elvira will help arrange for anything you need. Thank you Elvira for brilliant hospitality and warmth.

Nothing - couldn't have been more perfect!

Everything. It was absolute serenity, overlooking the beach with the most gorgeous view. The bedroom is so so big and super comfy. The interior of this villa is beautiful and feels like a real treat staying here. The Hosts Joseph and Elvira were so so accommodating, they even leant us cash in the meantime when the cash machines were all down. They provided us with recommendations and were always there to help + chat to. They were the loveliest hosts we've ever stayed with and would come back 100% and would recommended to anyone thinking of staying here. Feels like absolute luxury!! + super close to town!

There was not one thing I did not like and I was there for a week.

Mantaray is an amazing find in Siargao and Joseph and Elvira set the standard for Philippine hospitality. The property is prettier than the pictures. The pool is sparkling clean as are all the facilities. The beds are comfortable with wonderful high quality bedding. All the fixtures and decorations are so thoughtful and really create a magical ambiance. The water in the open air shower is warm with great water pressure. There’s a French press with coffee, sugar and milk in the room and a mini fridge stocked with cold water. As an older solo traveler I really appreciated staying with Joseph and Elvira, they were so kind and accommodating. They booked tours for me, arranged transportation and in room massage (they have their own massage table) gave amazing suggestions for food and things to do, and just generally were there when I needed company, going as far as going to dinner with me on night one, when I got in late, so I would feel comfortable. If you are lucky enough to find Mantaray available, book quickly, you won’t find nicer accommodations on Siargao.

We enjoyed our stay at Mantaray with Joseph and Elvira. Joseph kindly took me and my partner surfing a couple of times during our stay and we had a fantastic time. He helped us with scooter rental and this allowed us to do a bit of exploring of Siargao. We were recommended lots of lovely cafes and restaurants that were very close and easy to get to. Our room was lovely and the setting is beautiful. This was our favourite place in the Philippines and we would love to come back.

Nothing!! Honestly the best 5 days in Siargao!

Loved our stay at Mantaray, it was so peaceful and relaxing. It was out of the way that it felt secluded and surrounded by nature but only a short walk to cafes, restaurants and shops in general luna. Our room was immaculate, the staff were so kind and attentive. We had water and lovely fresh coffee to enjoy on the terrace in the mornings. View of the sea and comfy seats to chill and watch the sunset. Joseph and Elvira were so kind and helpful they really made this stay so enjoyable. Easy renting moped from the villa which made our trip stress free. Beautiful outdoor showers!!! Fav part about the room. Beds were comfy and spacious. Attention to detail like robes just made this stay feel luxurious! If we were to return to general luna we would love to come back to Mantaray!

The property was fabulous. Lots of special touches. Beautifully designed so that you felt you had a private place all to yourself complete with comfy sofa, hammock and table with chairs. Joseph, Elvira and Little Lala were perfect hosts always helpful but still maintaining our privacy. They even got up and saw us off at 4:30am! Dressing gowns, beach towels, umbrellas, and even rain capes provided without asking. A cold water dispenser and fridge were most appreciated. We wish them all the very best!

There is nothing we didn’t like.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mantaray Siargao! Our room and entire property was very beautiful and well maintained. Room was cleaned every day and when we came home in the evening, every time there would be dimmed lights left what felt very welcoming. Joseph and Elvira were very friendly and gave us all sorts of suggestions on what to see and do. We are especially thankful for organizing us the private boat ride to Mam-on island and the encouragement to go surfing together. We cannot wait to go back!!

Easily one of the best accommodations we have ever been to. Nice, clean and quiet place not too far from tourism road (the heart of the city). The Malinao beach (commonly known as Secret beach) is only 10-15mins from the property by tuktuk. We went kayaking during the day and came back for the firefly-watching in the evening. The owners/hosts (Joseph and Elvira) and the staff (shout out to Sham) were super friendly and helpful. They went extra mile to accommodate our requests and helped us book our island tour. They looked after us really well. We were treated almost like family extension not just guests and that homey vibe made our stay extra special.

We spent 30 days in the Philippines, and this was by far our favorite place to stay. The location, the landscaping/grounds, the view, the room with all of it beautiful and unique touches were exceptional. The hosts Joseph and Elvira were amazing — super helpful with renting, scooters, tips for restaurants, arranging a masseuse to come to the property, setting up a private island hopping experience, and a surfing trip—you name it! The cold coconut water upon arrival, umbrellas, rain ponchos, flowers in the spa-like bathroom, the most luxurious bed and linens … I could go on and on. Mantaray is an impressive house with comfortable rooms, beautiful garden and water views. It is a short ride into town for breakfast and excursions. The hosts, Joseph, Elvira and Lala are genuinely hospitable and went out of their way to help us with things like car hire.
