We stayed for 4 days in this beautiful resort, our first time in Bohol, and it truly didn’t disappoint! The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and the beds were incredibly soft — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were exceptional: kind, respectful, and always ready to help. We even asked them to set up a surprise for my mother-in-law’s 87th birthday, and they went above and beyond. It made her day extra special. 🥹❤️ One unexpected highlight was the complimentary photoshoot — Chitto, our photographer, made us feel like absolute superstars! The photos turned out beautifully. This resort’s thoughtful design, peaceful atmosphere, and world-class service make it a must-visit. Daghan kaayong salamat, Modala! Kudos to the whole team. I’ll definitely be recommending this gem to my friends! 🌴🌊

Loved that there were lots of activities to do at the resort and buffet breakfast every morning. It was nice and quiet. We particularly loved the mangrove tour and the snorkeling. The staff was very professional and hospitable.

As a Resort Owner/Manager I know regrettably, some things some times go wrong. The important issue is how does Management deal with the issue. My discussion with the Front Desk staff meet with a sincere apology and a written response by the General Manager. The compensation exceeded all my expectations . This is a exceptional Resort with outstanding staff completely focused on customer service. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a complete 5 star Resort experience.

It’s not much, but our floors get damp if we increase the ac temperature, has to be below 23 all the time..

Everything was exceptional! Check in process was very smooth and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating! Kudos to Joe the room attendant for the personalized note he left before we checked out. Resort facilities wise, it’s very good! Pool is clean and the beach area is also fantastic! Breakfast is always what we look forward to, (hands up to their chef, cooks, kitchen staff and servers). The resort although a little off from the center is actually a PLUS for us, as it gave us a relaxing retreat.

Fabulous resort with top class facilities. The quality and fittings/finishing in the room were superb, materials top quality and this permeated through the whole resort. The strip mall attached to the resort is also really good and has some good restaurants. Pool area and swim up bar are really nice and the beach is beautiful. Staff fantastic and breakfast also excellent.

That said, we visited during the off-peak season, and the area felt a bit quiet with limited activities and not much character. Still, for a short stay, it was just right—especially if you’re planning a trip to the Tarsier Sanctuary, which is about half an hour’s drive from the hotel. Overall, a solid, practical option with excellent room quality and easy access to basic amenities.

We stayed at The Modala Hotel for a short visit and found it to be a very comfortable and convenient choice. The rooms were exceptionally nice—spacious, modern, and impeccably clean. One of the best features is the shopping mall adjoined to the hotel, which offers a range of food options just steps away.

During a very powerful high tide we noticed that plastic garbages coming from afar can land on the beach, we suggest the resort staff to be more proactive in cleaning the beach and water, not just waiting for the low tide to finally take action.

Amazing view from the infinity pool, beautiful private beach right downstairs the resort, very pleasant staff and excellent level of service, good breakfast, free daily kayaking, snorkeling activity, spacious and clean room with very comfortable beds, overall an outstanding resort!

Broken tiles in kids pool floor and side Not very clean water in kids pool Loud when kids are playing needs acoustic treatment on the ceiling . A few spots on the sheets . Sticky patio door Loose railing Boheco power outages are ridiculous and it kicks off aircon . Beach sand a bit dirty from seaweed Could use a good rake daily Welcome drinks too sweet . Price is a bit too high for the room . Promos would be nice .

The best staff ever . Smiles and helpful friendly people everywhere. We stay all over the world and by far this place has the best staff . Special shout out to check in girl staff. I think her name is Caroline . And everyone who helped on checkin Location is nice . Food was decent and portions huge . Not super busy

The beach doesn’t have that powdery white sand. There are sea urchins but not the green algae as in boracay. I liked that it was pretty unspoilt and secluded. There is a hotel being built next door but we didn’t experience any noise unlike the previous hotel I stayed (henna crystal which is truly terrible!)

Honestly this hotel was such a great find! I only booked it last minute as my flight was cancelled and I had to arrive a day earlier on Bohol and where I was staying was fully booked. The staff and service exceptional (I’ve now stayed on three very mediocre hotels in Philippines), the hotel is beautiful (amazing pool area with great views) and it’s extremely good value for money. We went snorkelling trip which was amazing. I’m at where I booked (Oceania beach) and definitely don’t recommend it! Might cut my stay short here and even go back to Mondala for the last few days …

Few breakfast options but delicious desserts.

Perfect location with a variety of activities. Unfortunately we were unable to do the horseback riding & the photo session due to our short stay. The entire hotel is new and in great condition. One thing we loved was the fast attention from the staff. Modela is closed to the beaches and nightlife restaurants with only 10-15 minutes of travel time to Alona beach. Dinner at the restaurant was delightful. The live music gave it a soothing feel. We would definitely book again.
