How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewIt was pet-friendly, which we really appreciated, especially since we hadn't received notice prior to arriving. The location is a bit of a walk from the actual beach, but it's still nearby.
The facilities weren't all that great, but compared to others, it does well a bit. Parking space isn't also too reliable, especially if most of the other guests are also bringing four-wheel vehicles.

Verified reviewMostly awesome - a couple of small changes would really enhance the experience. Pros- Awesome pool, bar, restaurant and communal hang out area, perfect for meeting people. Great security. They arranged a great driver to take me to airport. Cons- Rooms were decent for the price but a few changes would make it a lot better. Power point was hanging out of the wall dodgily and in middle of bed? Bizarre. Liquid soap in bathroom would be nice too. Pillows weren't great.

Verified reviewWe stayed for 3 nights whilst in Moalboal. Location is great, you’re away from the night life but also close enough to walk in. They also offered hiring of motorcycles. The room was spacious and clean and the bed is extra comfy. The facilities were lovely, drinks at the bar and a lovely pool area. I think this is a really underrated place to say in Moalboal and the reviews are low. Although we had our own private bathroom, the out door showers behind reception looked amazing. I love stuff like that.
Nothing. But if I was being fussy I would request an extra bin in the room & a brush to brush any sand that gets in. But this is nothing that can’t be changed easily enough!

Inappropriate behaviour from old white fat men & young Filipino women in the pool whilst family with teenagers were sat around. Rooms incredibly small. Beds made from bamboo posts that squeak with every movement. The most annoying thing is the roosters! 4 roosters next door that ‘cock-a-doodle-doed’ from 4.30am and didn’t stop until everyone was up!!! Pool wasn’t too clean, or that might have been because we knew what the old, fat white men had been up to….see above. Then because we wanted to check out early, (again see above), with 3 days notice…no refund!

Verified reviewEverything was great. Not too many rooms so no noise other than roosters (but they are everywhere in the Philippines). Pool was clean and clear. Staff super friendly. Great location. Quiet at night. Walk to beach in 5 minutes.
Still finishing rebuilding from typhoon so no on site bar or restaurant but many with walking distance.

It's an agreable place with really good staff, they are here for advicing you all the good activities to do here and can make you straight in contact with locals for doing it. Verified reviewI like it as it was a quite place, staffs are friendly always greets you every time they see you, even let me stay for about half an hour past my checkout as it was raining big plus! . Also I like the pool because it has a deep part. Also allowed me to fly my drone.
Hope those Bermuda grass will grow when i get back. CR could have some improvements like add a bidet for the toilet and floor barrier between the shower and toilet area. hope the resorts own restaurant will re-open soon. promising resort

Verified reviewEvery time I come to Moalboal Native House Resort it is my place. This is my third time here and I will keep coming back. The friendliness of the staff is outstanding, you don't need to worry about anything because they organise all kinds of activities for you. It is remarkable the improvement of the facilities, the rooms are super clean, the garden is very well kept and the swimming pool is incredibly crystal clear. It is a place to enjoy and not leave if you don't want to. A dream place

This was the WORST place we have stayed in all of Philippines. The staff were so unhelpful, we stayed in a standard room which was just a fan. the room was unbearably hot. the pictures look nothing like the advert. There was a huge hole in the netting of the window, we woke up in the middle of the night with ghekkos and spiders all over the walls. we had originally booked for 2 nights but left after 1. honestly awful, I would avoid at all costs.
Hello First, let me apologize for the inconvenience. You were the first guest that booked rooms that weekend. You had a choice to book an aircon or fan room, but you booked a fan room, which is the cheapest one... All our aircon rooms were full if not we would be more than happy to give you one. After your complaint, you wanted a full refund, but it is not in company policy to give a refund just because you booked the wrong room. Sometimes we have some gecko or spider in the room its something we can't avoid in the tropics, but to have a full room of gecko and spiders that went through the small whole in a mosquito net is a big exaggeration maybe it have something to do with your refund.
