Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback and for noting our convenient location near the airport. Regarding your concern about people coming in and out of the dorm: please note that we do not allow any non-registered visitors inside our dormitories. This is clearly stated in our house rules, and any violation carries a penalty fee of ₱1,000. All dorm access is secured with keycards, so the only way non-guests can enter is if another guest chooses to let them in, which is strictly prohibited. While we do our best to monitor the property, we cannot physically oversee every dorm 24/7. This is why we kindly ask our guests to immediately inform reception if they notice anything unusual or against policy, so we can address it on the spot. May we ask why this was not reported during your stay? As for the bites you mentioned, we take such concerns very seriously. Our rooms are regularly cleaned and checked, and no similar complaints have been reported. Just today August 19, 2025, we also had a professional pest and bedbug control treatment conducted, and no single trace of bedbugs was found in the property. Considering it is currently rainy season in the Philippines, it’s also possible that the bites may have come from mosquito exposure outside. Nonetheless, we always take preventive measures and conduct extra inspections whenever feedback like this is raised. Dear Matthias, We are truly sorry to hear that you experienced discomfort during your stay. In our two and a half years of operating since early 2023, this is the first time we have received feedback about a heavy allergic reaction. While we can't be certain about the cause, it may have been related to something consumed or encountered outside the property, as we are not aware of any known allergens present here. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly what you may be allergic to, but we hope you are feeling better now. We also noticed your rating for value for money was quite low. You booked a bed at our promotional rate of only Php 499 per night (8 USD), which is already very affordable for a clean, well-maintained hostel close to the airport. As you can see from many of our other guest reviews, this price is considered a great value by most budget travelers like you. Our standard check-in time is 3:00 PM, as clearly indicated on our Booking.com listing. While we do our best to accommodate early arrivals when possible, we charge a minimal early check-in fee, in your case, only 3 AUD (approximately 100 PHP) for a 2 hours early check-in at 12:54PM which helps cover operational costs and maintain smooth guest turnover. Expecting to check in as early as 10:00 AM or five hours before standard check-in without any fee is unrealistic and not a practice found even in most full-service hotels, let alone budget accommodations. Please also note that your stay fell during the low season, and to reduce operational expenses and remain sustainable, our reception operates from 10:00 AM to 4:00 or 3PM to 4AM only. Outside of those hours, our housekeeping team assists arriving guests. While the staff member who checked you in may not be fluent in English, they are trained to assist all guests with professionalism and courtesy, and we appreciate their efforts in ensuring your check-in was handled because it is usually a Self check-in process during this low season period and you have to wait for the standard check-in of 3PM as advertised. We are an airport layover hostel, and many of our guests stay for a few hours between flights. Because of this, our scheduling is tight, and early check-ins or late check-outs directly impact room readiness for the next guest. This policy is standard and clearly communicated. Regarding your comment about pricing, 18 AUD (roughly 600 PHP) for a night’s stay just five minutes from the international airport is one of the most affordable rates available. We are confident that you selected our hostel because we provided the most convenient and lowest-priced option at the time of your booking. As for our facilities, we are fully transparent in our listing: we offer private beds in a capsule-style setup, designed for short, no-frills layovers. We do not advertise lounges or common areas yet as it is not yet readily available and guests book with this understanding. We appreciate your feedback and hope your onward travels were smooth. For future reference, if early access to a room is required, we recommend booking the night prior to ensure availability. We also kindly encourage guests to consider the overall experience in relation to the rate paid, to help ensure that reviews remain fair, balanced, and helpful to future travelers.
