How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location and general vibe of the hotel is very special: by the Lomoc river, you stay on a raised bungalow with the basic facilities to get you through your stay. There's electricity and running water, but it does feel a bit wilder than your usual hotel room. There isn't much around, but the price of drinks and food in the restaurant is very reasonable.
The hotel is built on a hill that goes from the main village to the river. There are more than 100 steps from the entrance to the lobby and then another 100 steps to the rooms, which can be a bit tiresome and difficult with luggage. Fine for the experience and a couple of days, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

Verified reviewStaff members were really nice and helpful. Location is unique, just at the heart of the jungle, which gives the place an special atmosphere.
The quality of the mattress is not great for a good sleep. Staff could implement a better mechanism to avoid insects coming into the rooms.

Verified reviewA breathtaking location in a jungle on a river. Adorable huts with perfectly manicured trails leading to each one. The staff are all so incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly. Delicious, affordable drinks and food with vegetarian options! I couldn’t imagine having stayed anywhere else in Loboc! Like other travelers I met and chatted with there, this won’t be our last visit to the Nut Huts. Thank you to the staff Lisa, Sarah, Edna, Ann, and several others that I unfortunately can’t remember the names of! You all truly made our visit extra spectacular!

Verified reviewThe people were super nice, view was incredible, really managed to deconnect from it all over there.
If you don't like the spartiate way of living then this accomodation is not for you but I knew what we were getting into and fully embrassed it. Really nice.

Verified reviewBeautiful location at the river! Nice huts and the Staff is so friendly. They serve good food, you can rent a scooter. We really liked the relaxing area.
The accommodation is perfect. The only thing which is a pitty, it that the floating restaurants with music passing by the whole day. But that will be at every accommodation at the river! Also kind of funny. We just stayed one day at the location and the other day we rented a scooter.

Verified reviewIt is a gem in the middle of the forest, close to the river. The reception/ restaurant is open from early morning until 10pm and their food is delicious..there are hammocks and ping pong table to play. The views to the mountain from the restaurant is beautiful. You immerse yourself in nature.
Consider that from the main road to the access it is about 3km unpaved road, when it rains it gets muddy. Once you get there there are 277 steps to go down (and up if you need to leave) I didn't mind but good to know for other travellers. They offer a boat service to the "center" for 150 pesos p/p which I strongly recommend.

Verified reviewIt’s a super cool place, location is amazing, right on the river. Very secluded and simple jungle feel. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful with anything you need. It is remote, so bare that in mind (but in a really good way)

Verified reviewDreamy location, very unique, right in the middle of the jungle! Hard to access, which for us, just added to the charm. You can fall asleep listening to the jungle. I would absolutely recommend this place for the adventurous people, great price for a unique experience ☺️ Thank you!
Only downside for us was the food - since the place is very hard to access, you are stuck with the one restaurant, which has amazing views, but the food is very expensive and quite underwhelming. Since the owner is belgian, we tried the fries, it cost a fortune and it was saggy, oily and a very small portion for the price. Other foods were also pricey and quite avarage, but the vibes of the restaurant were great.

Verified reviewThe location and restaurant were great.
They need to upkeep the rooms better here. I understand we are in the jungle and these huts are supposed to be “rustic” but there was a whole colony of rats living in the walls. I would see them through the clear plastic siding. And I could hear them scurrying around. They were loud! Not only that, there was mold growing on the walls, and tons of termite droppings all over. The mosquito net in the room also had a very bad small to it. The rooms are “private” but keep in mind the walls are so thin that you can basically hear your next door neighbors breathe. I was excited for my experience at nuts huts and was disappointed. The place is owned by a European guy too, not locally owned which is a negative for me.

Verified reviewThe location is beautiful, the staff are friendly and kind.Take the "check in by boat " option as the road and the steps are a nightmare. They organised a taxi tour for us with Mila ,who is wonderful, the most careful driver in all of the Philippines!Free refills of filtered water are fantastic.
The peace and tranquillity of the location is shattered by the noisy boats on the river during the day,as well as the neighbours who also like to play loud music from 7am.No WiFi makes onward travel plans challenging. The food is very average, but they have very challenging logistics due to the location.
