How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very noisy, loud aircon.
The air-cons are brand new. If the air flow is turned up to the maximum it will certainly blow a lot of air but there is no need, the rooms are very cool and no need to turn up the air flow.

The bed is a queen size, innerspring mattress with a pillow top memory foam.... It doesn't get much better than that my friend. The photos show a queen size bed with plenty of space for luggage and moving around the room

Verified reviewPros: the location is very good to have quick access to the sardine beach and the restaurants, but in perspective the touristy Moalboal is not that big. The team is very nice and they helped us get transfers to and from the airport. Cons: there is zero soundproofing in the room. To the point that people talking (normally) outside sound louder inside the room than if sitting next to them outside. Also, you can hear everything from your neighbors…(like the walls do not exist). It was not enjoyable after a 12h travel time and 0 hours of sleep on the way. Overall: normal room, clean, basic amenities, very low shower pressure and no quiet time. On the other side, very close to the beach and restaurants and the staff is very attentive.
Sorry to hear you had noisy neighbors. Our reception is open 24/7 and a few words to our staff would have resulted to asking the people to be a little more considerate to other guests and given you a good sleep.

Verified reviewThis is a simple hotel with no pool or breakfast, but its huge advantage is its location—just a two-minute walk from the beach and very close to all the restaurants. Take your room key and go to swim with the sardines. The room was very clean and spacious, the air conditioning was quiet, and the entire area was so peaceful that, despite being near the restaurants, the only sound was that of crickets. The hotel staff was very kind, and it was clear that they had thoughtfully considered the needs of tourists. The room had a water dispenser, allowing guests to refill water for their entire stay. They also provided a designated rack with hangers for drying laundry outside the room. At the entrance to each room, there was a hand sanitizer station, the TV was equipped with Netflix, and overall, even though the hotel is not five-star, I had everything I needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
Thank you for taking the time to make this review. People sometimes overlook the extra small things we provide for our guests and it makes us happy to know people do appreciate the extra effort we put in to making our guests stay with us as comfortable as possible.

Verified reviewWe stayed for three nights and would have stayed longer if we could! Staff is wonderful, they arranged our transfers and helped us with tours as well. Location is right off the main strip while set far enough back to be very quiet. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Wifi was a little temperamental
Hello, thanks for your review. The WIFI can be temperamental due to the internet providers here, we have the top two and sometimes they will do work on their system so we will shift our system to the other provider to make sure our guests will always have WIFI, better than none if one is done right! Same with any power outage, we will shift to our emergency system to keep air-con units working and guests happy. We are always doing our best to make each and every guests stay comfortable. See you next year.
