How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Room was messy,, no tv, no refrigerator..you have to park your car outside because the place can accommodate only 2 vehicles..it’s not a place to unwind or a place for comfort and relaxation.. we did not stay at the place .. we booked ourselves in another hotel..definitely a no no for visitors.. I wish I could have my money back..good bye..
Dear Eduardo, Thank you for your feedback — though we must frankly say we are quite surprised and disappointed by the level of exaggeration and distortion in your review. Please allow us to clarify the following points: 1. You mentioned our facilities were “far below expectations” and “very different from the advertisements.” This is a serious accusation. We sincerely ask you to specify: what exactly were your “expectations”? In what way do you believe there is such a large “gap”? Our listings are accurate, regularly updated, and contain no false advertising. 2. You claimed the room was “messy and dirty.” That is simply not true. All of our rooms are thoroughly cleaned before each guest’s arrival, and we frequently receive compliments on cleanliness. If you had specific complaints or photo evidence, we welcome you to share them so we can improve — but baseless accusations help no one. 3. You said there was “no refrigerator.” That is absolutely false. Every room is equipped with a minibar refrigerator. If you failed to notice it or didn’t know how to use it, you could have simply asked our staff instead of publicly spreading misinformation. 4. Regarding your parking comment: while our hotel’s parking area is outdoors and space is limited, it is continuously monitored by staff and guarded by night security. Vehicles parked outside are under constant supervision and fully secure. Outdoor parking does not mean unsafe or unmanaged — we hope you understand the difference. 5. What we find particularly puzzling is your claim that “you didn’t stay, and didn’t take photos because you didn’t want to.” If you never actually stayed in the room and have no visual record, your negative comments on the condition of the room and facilities lack any factual basis. This kind of statement is self-contradictory and unconvincing, and it may mislead other guests. 6. Furthermore, we must clarify that you demanded a refund on-site. As we explained clearly at the time, your booking and payment were made through the platform, and we as the host have no authority to issue direct refunds. We advised you to file a formal claim through the booking platform — if your complaint is justified, the platform will rule in your favor and we will fully cooperate with the refund. Until such a judgment is made, we cannot bypass platform procedures. 7. Most regrettably, during your visit, you treated our front desk and service staff with arrogance and disrespect, even verbally abusing them, disrupting our operations. Despite this, our staff remained courteous and professional, doing their best to assist you. We always treat guests with respect, and we expect the same in return. Finally, we welcome any honest and constructive feedback that helps us improve, but we also have the right to defend ourselves against exaggerated and untrue claims. Nice staff - after being here last year, I hoped they improved their breakfast (after my review), but unfortunately it's still 1 egg with 2 ham and 2 toast. The staff doesn't even ask if you want that, but just bring it. What is really weird and at least you should have 2 or 3 options....coffee just powder, no brewed. No fruits available too, even dow we asked.... So if you don't like egg and ham, you are screwed. Room has a huge wall, but empty...no TV, no mirror or whatever. In the morning at 7am they will doing their dive bottles, but making this clinging sound when putting them together for almost 20min what woke us up unfortunately. If they would improve their breakfast, put a mirror in the wall and make sure it's quiet till 8am, this place would be perfect....3 simple things what doesn't cost any much money....

Verified reviewFacility is great. The room is spacious and the bed is huge. The nice comforter is definitely a plus. The hotel has a restaurant that serves great food! Pool is also great. Overall the place is well worth the money. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. They definitely made me feel like home.
The beach is close but the beach is not that nice. The sandy area is quite small and it’s not well maintained - that being said, this is just a note regarding the location.

As our resort is surrounded by nature, outdoor lighting at night can sometimes attract insects near the stairways and common areas. This is a common occurrence in tropical environments and is not indicative of any hygiene or maintenance issue. As for the air conditioning, our units are regularly maintained and function properly. However, given the tropical climate, it may take some time to cool a large room effectively, especially if doors or windows are frequently opened. Verified reviewBreakfast is included, free coffee and drinking water, Dive shop on site with equipment rentals. Rooms are nice and clean as was the bathroom. Bed was large and had several pillows and a nice comforter was included.
Most of the locals didn't know where the resort was located, had to direct several trike drivers to the resort. You probably need to rent a scooter to get back and forth if you plan on going out frequently.

Verified reviewThe staff and the facility were all wonderful. My children enjoyed the hotel pet named Daiwoo.
The road to get to the location is still under developed and has a lot of pot holes. Their pool is great but they have too many rules on what you cannot do so it made it difficult to enjoy. It's unfortunate because it was nice and big and could be a good attraction for tourists.

Verified reviewThis was a perfect oasis for a single traveler far from home. This is a diving resort by design.I’m no longer a diver but was in my youth. I can tell you from observation that the diving staff is thorough,professional ,friendly and well equipped.
Can’t think of a single thing that I couldn’t overcome with a trip to the mall about 5-10 minutes away depending on traffic.

The owner really needs to take care of the small things as this place has potential, but not the way they run it now: - dirty bedsheets (staff told me they only have few bedsheets for 10 rooms - pool wasn't cleaned before 10am, so impossible for my morning swim, as lots of dead flies etc in the pool. - they are lack off staff. Only 2 for everything. - breakfast only egg and toast, that's it. No choice at all. And instant coffee. Even dow I paid 2800peso for the room. Unacceptable - very big room, a lot of empty wall, but only 1 small mirror in the bathroom - I explained the reception my complaints and they would call the owner about it, but never got feedback back. - no seats in the terrace of your room. They needed to take 1 chair and table from the breakfast area/pool area. - there was 1 day no electricity in Dumaguette (not their fault), but they said the generator will start at 10am (why 10am, instead of immediately), so I waited as I wanted to charge my phone, but 10:15am nothing, 10:30am no generator. Even dow I asked. All by all not worth the money with the service what you get now. It has potential, but the owner really need to change some things if he keep asking 2800peso per night.

Unfortunately, I wasn't present when you shared your concerns at the reception. Your feedback is invaluable, and I'm truly sorry for the less-than-pleasant experience you had with us. In addressing your concerns about our bedsheets, we do have a total of 40 sets for our 10 rooms, not just a few. Regarding our staff, we have more than 10 team members, though they might not have been visible near you as we attend to all our guests. The swimming pool cleaning follows a schedule from 8-9 am, and I've confirmed that our staff adhered to this timeframe. I deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the generator situation. We were aware of the power outage from 6 am to 4 pm and had planned to run the generator from 10 am to avoid the noise disturbing guests. Unfortunately, a mechanical issue led to a delay, and we did our best to resolve it promptly in this emergency. I also want to address the breakfast matter. While we offer three different breakfast options on rotation, I apologize for the misunderstanding. Our chef, in an attempt to cater to your preferences, provided a variety including bread, ham, sausage, eggs, coffee, and juice. I apologize for any disappointment caused by this oversight.
