Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PakistanNo cleanliness, one Aircon for 10 bed in room, dirty washroom, my floor washrooms out of service, poor wifi connection, too much low water pressure in the shower, no water in wash basin/vanities in the washroom, just one sofa in the main hall, no chairs for dinning/for sitting in hall. Aircon working in the hall. Overall bad experience. One thing is remarkable that staff on reception is so nice, polite and cooperative.

CanadaThe staff wasn't super helpful, showers weren't working much (0 pressure, dirty to a very high extent, trash everywhere, and cold water which I don't mind it's usual in the Philippines)
It's expensive for what it is. I try to never let bad comments and objectively I'm still alive but the people working there need to make an effort on the cleanliness of the place.

PhilippinesVery far from what’s advertised. Booked a quadruple room for 3pax but was told that none was available upon our arrival. Staff suggested that we can opt to get a shared room for 6pax but there would be other people with us. Made me pay 2x of what we should have paid here in booking.com just so we could get a room for ourselves. Bathroom was not working and we were just told about this when we already paid and entered the room, he suggested using common CRs on the first floor but none of the faucets actually work and it was filthy. Main door of the room did not fully close and was broken so there was no sense of security during our stay. We still ended up bringing our stuff when we went outside to drink. None of us wanted to sleep there cause it was so dirty. We ended up staying for about 8 hours total (considering that we went outside to drink and eat dinner) and ultimately went home to sleep.

United StatesI can't say you will find a better location in Makati at this price If you are on a budget, I highly recommend this hostel Even though on my last night in Manila, I had booked a single bedroom at this hostel, when I checked in to this hostel, the staffs say it is unavailable or not supposed to be listed. And when the staff proceed to show my a bed in a dormitory and accidentally forgot to return my money nor suggest me to cancel my booking.com reservation nor rebook a bed. I find the incident a little questionable. Enjoy your trips Edwin

PhilippinesNothing is good in this hostel. Toilets are dirty. You feel like vomiting just seeing the place. The staff will not even show you where the toilet is. You have to figure it out yourself. No water bottle as in the description. Very misleading booking.com description No shower gel or shampoo. No toilet flush. It is so dirty. It is next to "Secret" club. There is no access card. Towels are already ripped. No proper bed sheet. They used a blanket to cover the bed. Not a fitted cover.
Unfortunately, nothing in the booking.com description is true. So none.

ColombiaFrom the very beginning, my experience at One Junction Hostel Manila was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, there was no one at the reception, and I had to wait around 30 minutes before someone finally showed up. Despite having already booked and paid in advance for a two-person room, I was told that no such room was available. After a frustrating argument with the receptionist, they eventually agreed to give me a bed in a dorm – not what I had booked. The building is in terrible condition and looks nothing like the photos shown online. Everything feels neglected and dirty. The bathrooms are probably the worst part: most of them are broken, extremely dirty, smell awful, and none of the sinks in the entire building work – meaning there's practically nowhere to brush your teeth or wash up properly. I also saw cockroaches, and the whole place is infested with mosquitoes. There are no lockers available to keep your belongings safe, which adds to the feeling of insecurity during your stay. Honestly, if you’re considering staying here, I strongly recommend you don’t. There are far better options in Manila. This was by far one of the worst hostel experiences I've had.

The building maybe old but it is centrally located to many restaurants & Cafes. For a more comfortable stay, maybe consider Z hostel or mad monkey one block away.

DenmarkUnfortunately, I can't pinpoint a single thing that I did like. When I wanted to check in, the hostess first claimed that I didn't have a reservation (which I did, and I had messaged the hostel prior to arriving too), and then showed me a dorm bed (although I'd booked a private double room). When I said that I hadn't booked a dorm room but a private room, the hostess suggested that I go to another hostel. I stood my ground, and she finally found my booking but said that the room wasn't ready. We agreed that I should come back later to check-in. The room itself was not clean, the power plugs hung out from the walls, and the interior was utterly uncharming. The shared bathrooms didn't have toilet paper, toilet seats, or hand soap. The property was also dirty and run down. For some reason, one of the caretakers also decided to start cleaning all the bathrooms (right outside my room) at 9:30pm, and with absolutely no soundproofing, it was very disturbing. I've stayed in basic hostels many times before, and I didn't expect a luxury experience, but this is probably the worst hostel experience in the almost two decades that I've been backpacking.
If you want to be in the party area of Makati, this is a good spot (not exactly my cup of tea). Lots of great coffee spots and vegan restaurants nearby.

BulgariaI arrived really late at night (past 12) I was told they cannot find the booking reference. After a lot talking they found it and said it was for yesterday. (the total stay was 5 nights) I told yes, I am late due to airport security but they said I cannot check in anymore. Their offer was to CANCEL WITH BOOKING and re-book. I told them this will triple the price agreed as it is last moment. Then they started to bargain the price of the stay, demanded more and more. I was tired and angry and i saw mouse running tough the anyway shady looking place. Told them thank you and left to the nearest other place to sleep for the night. Very disappointing I WOULD NEVER book this place.
In the end i didn't sleep there.
