Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayLacking basic maintenance. The roof on my balcony had a hole in the middle of it, and it was raining a lot, also the light on my balcony wasn't working. The switch for hot water in the shower was located right up at the top by the ceiling. Nobody can reach it. Luckily I'm not very heavy and could stand on top of the plastic bucket. A 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper in a room designed for 2 people for 2 nights. If you don't supply more, at least sell them! Pile some up in the reception so we can get one easily. Taytay is a tiny town. I went to 5 little shops before I was able to buy the 2nd to last roll they had! Hopefully not too many others needed some. It's worth noting that there's no generator. The day I left, I had to pack my things on the balcony as very little daylight gets into the room. Still no electricity back when I left several hours later. Good location right in town. Far from the bus station, but that's because the bus station is located really far from town.
A very cozy place to stay. I had a nice spacious bungalow set in a beautiful garden. Good WiFi everywhere, even in the bungalow. There is a bar with lovely wooden furniture, and also an outdoor covered dining area. The restaurant had a fairly extensive menu with both Western and Philippino options, all at quite affordable prices, especially after coming from El Nido. I liked that you pay your bill when you leave, so you don't have this constant lack of change ordeal.

CanadaThe room was a bit small and there weren't many outlets. The lights also run on a series circuit so you can only use some lights if another light is on. All lights should operate independent of each other.
The staff are very considerate. Many of them are learning how to work in a business to get credit for their education and the owner selects them very well. The laundry staff are also very good and prompt. The location is excellent being right in front of the fortress. You can get a great view of the fort at night from your balcony in some rooms!

GermanyThe staff was okay, however the prices for the scooter, island hoppings and more were very high. 700 pesos for one day scooter... The place was quite noisy because of Geckos and construction right next to our room. No AC just a fan.
The room itself was nice, big room with nice bathroom.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was really dirty! It was still moist when we arrived and there were some dirty, unidentifiable spots. It looked like it wasn't cleaned for a long time.
The cottage was really cosy with a nice porch. Friendly owner and staff.

United KingdomThe shower wasn't very good - just a trickle, and the toilet took a long time to flush/refill.
Pem is a wonderful host and we felt very welcome by her and all the staff. We only stayed for one night as a stop over between El Nido and Puerto Princessa which worked out well breaking up the long transfer. We really loved Taytay town as a quieter (and cheaper!) alternative to El Nido.

JapanVery uncomfortable beds, only a very thin mattress on a wooden board. Impossible to sleep on your side. Feels like you are sleeping on the floor. We had booked a double room but they only had a twin left. The bungalow is really small and very close the others. No toilet seat and the toilet was dirty. Lots of stains on the sheets and a lot of mosquitos and no mosquito net. It is a really cheap accommodation but you really get what you pay for. Would have slept better in my own tent ! It is worth paying a bit more for better. Unfortunately for us, it was fiesta time and everything else was fully booked... Not a lot of accommodation in Taytay. BTY, Taytay itself is not worth the detour, unless you wanna see a town without tourist... We did island hopping and it was not worth the price at all, especially after El Nido and Coron
Location is in the center, close to the port The garden is nice. There is a restaurant where you can get breakfast and take out lunch (convenient if you go on tour for the day without lunch included)
