Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryI had to ask for Wifi, normally they dont have internet. The room is like beinh in a refrigerator. People dont really keep silence so it can be noisy even at midnight. But the bathroom is incredibly hot, like taking a shower is hard. There is never toilet paper or soap.
Bed was comfortable. I think the location is good.

BahrainThe property could have their washing machine used by the guests for a fee so they could maximized their profits and it will be helpful to the guests. They could have more outlets to plug the gadgets as they have only a common eating and working table. The staff were cynical as well as intruding instead of not caring so much about their guest's PII and profiling them. This drives the guests away. They must respect the privacy of every guest.
The location, the setup and the flexibility of the staff were great. There were bathroom facilities that was very comfortable for my daughter and I. The air conditioning was very good. The name of the property suits the ambience as it will promote a really good sleep.. We thank the owners as this had helped us and the travellers to do backpacking, and for the foreigners to enjoy the Philippines and see Manila without having to spend much. Not every traveler is rich. 🙂 We had a good night's sleep and comfortable stay.

GermanyThere aren’t enough toilets in my honest opinion. Two showers and one bathroom, so if a guy is having a long session you’re basically done for. For me personally it wasn’t a problem since I sleep like a stone but I could imagine that people would find the United Nations Ave. quite loud at times. There isn’t a kitchen and the share space is a table with 10 chairs. For people who love comfort I wouldn’t recommend this place, but if you look for something cheap and have been travelling through Asia this is absolutely doable!
The hostel is good but not great. You’ve got Filipino workers basically residing there long-term so don’t expect anything social. The location is great for Metro Manila and it is located in a local and comparatively safe neighbourhood. Directly next to the hostel there is a great local (and ridiculously cheap) restaurant as well as a 7/11 if you get the munchies in the night. The security measures are outstanding and there are lockers if you have some stuff to store. The staff is available 24/7, speaks good English and is very helpful.

Peruthere is not free water, they give you the linens so you have to do your bed yourself, they had a lower bed available but arrogablty told me that i could not use it. Honestly I don't recommend this place, there must be other places with nicer people.
they let me use the bed early just because I had to take a flight before that night. It's near the metro station, people are not very friendly.

PhilippinesI have stayed in this hostel on two separate occasions within one month, and during my first time, I asked for a lower bunk bed and they said only a top bunk was available. They gave me my beddings for me to put up and set on my bed. Ad I was about to, I found out that the bottom bunk was available so I was able to request to a switch in beds. I just wish this was figured out before I checked in though. That's all. Also, the street outside had low lighting and would usually be filled with children and teens at various times of the day or night.
I appreciated that the main door is electronic and could only be opened when a receptionist is present inside to press a hidden button. I also liked that the beds were big enough and had sockets by the wall. I particularly liked one of the staff members who was friendly towards me and quite accommodating. The cool aircondition is such a huge plus given the heat these days.
