Lots of power cuts during the night which meant the AC and fan had stopped working and we woke up sweating a few times with no lights or power. I am assuming this was because of the weather. There were also a lot of ants in the room which spread onto the beds. Our 3 year old didn't get free breakfast and so we had to pay for the occasional breakfast even though our room said breakfast included.

Pool was lovely and staff were really attentive in switching on the fountains and bubbles every time we wanted to go in throughout the day. They would change our towels when we asked and give extra toilet rolls when needed too. Location was fine although a long walk to the town proper for us with 3 young kids. It was easy to get tricycles there and back however.

Sheryl the receptionist at St.John pension made my stay more valuable. The place itself is very nice. The swimming pool adds to the experience, since after a tour, or a day out, one can come back to relax there. The place has direct access to the beach where one can hace a drink at the restaurant of the beach place.

The room looked really nice, bigger than other places and the AC helped a lot. The staff was amazing, they helped with planning the tours for us, other activities and were very helpful when we felt sick and we needed to cancel a tour. The location is nice, close to the city but far enough to be quiet and enjoy the silence. The pool and Terrance are nice for relaxing and having breakfast or dinner, plus you can reach the beach from there. They also cooked for us and the food was very good with bid portions.

- selling ‚deluxe doublerooms with terrace and mountain view‘ which they don’t have is a no go for me - simple rooms which are too expensive for the offered standard, it‘s okay but don‘t expect too much - shower has almost no pressure

- the near beach to view sunset - staff tries and is friendly (thats why I gave a 7) - included breakfast which was simple but okay - scooter rental on site (first two scooters had some defects though, but they changed/repaired quickly)

On the last morning we had pre-ordered breakfast for 8am as we had a 9am bus and despite asking numerous times it came out 40 minutes late. The info on tours and buses wasn't clear - the pickups were often an estimated time despite what's written so we were worried about not being picked up. The rooms are basic, and it's not particularly the fault of the hotel, but there is a real noise issue. You will get woken by next-door's cockerels from 2am - yes 2am. But then added to that, we stayed on the ground floor backing onto the laundry area, I think the owners house is here? Because we heard an alarm go off every morning at 5am that wasn't picked up for ages. It's a shame we struggled with a few things here as the hotel could do better. Also we couldn't arrive on day 1 of booking as the ferries were cancelled but this couldn't be refunded.

Free breakfast - lots of options that you choose from the night before. Location is good for sunset - by outpost hostel and other bars (we recommend Republica) and the hotel has walking access to the beach. It's not in the main town but tuktuks are 100PHP per person each way. Can also book tours and buses slightly cheaper through the hotel.

Laundry service was not good - my shorts were lost and they couldn’t locate them. We were also handed back some items still wet without telling us. They therefore smelt so bad when we took them out and had to re-do the laundry elsewhere!

Staff were very helpful - especially on our first night, one of the guys there helped us with some bits from the kitchen as we were too late for dinner anywhere close by.

It's quite far from the town proper. You can ride a tricycle for around atleast Php 20 each passenger. There's no cable but you can watch the news via youtube but due to slow connectivity from PLDT, there are times when we cant connect same as Netflix.

I love the service and staff! They are all charming, accommodating and helpful. Free bfast so we dont have to worry about the 1st meal of the day. P.S. Commending Amazing Jhay! Thank you for the flowers.

Wifi is weak and intermittent in our room, Needed to add repeaters around the area. For average built body, room is good, but for foreigners, maybe this is small for them. Air-conditioned is old and little bit loud for sensitive guest.
