How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. 1. I think there was no proper endorsement to the security stationed that night because when we entered and asked for our parking number, we were asked for a lot of identifications even though we followed the instruction firmly. This made us wait long minutes before we were able to secure the parking even though I showed the screenshot that was sent through email. 2. When we were able to go to the unit, the first thing we noticed was that the unit was dusty and unclean. We had to sweep the floor because of little garbages and we had to clean the unit. There were cockroaches and the bedsheets were dusty. 3. This really made me furious! When I opened the refrigerator, a very very foul odor came out of it! There I noticed that perishable items were left inside the freezer, while it was unplugged! This caused the foul odor that came out. Not only that, it was full of worms, maggots, and moulds which meant that the owner did not even bother to check the unit before we came. The foul odor was so strong, it enveloped the entire unit! It was really disgusting and disappointing! I immediately sent a message to the owner who promised that he would clean it up the next day however, he did not show up. He did not even bother to respond to my message. 4. We were out the following and were only back late at night only to find out that there was no line of water! I immediately sent him a message and he responded that there was a water interruption in the entire building. I responded that he could have advised us prior booking the place. Here’s the catch, we noticed in the elevator that the water interruption letter was posted DAYS PRIOR OUR BOOKING SO HE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO INFORM US OF THE WATER INTERRUPTION AND YET HE DID NOT! I called him and w/o any empathy, he just told me to get water from the CR of the pool area which was dim-lighted and full of mosquitoes. We had to go down from the 3/F with a small bucket! and bring it uptairs again with water. SO DISAPPOINTING!
1.We do not have control over the guards / admin protocol in accepting guests.It is also for your own and others security. 2.I don’t think this is a big deal.This a minor dust and I dont believe there are cockroaches unless you send a proof of what you are saying. 3.As you said that it was unplugged so it means its not to be used as it is for repair.why bother complain if your not going to use it as you said you are the whole day away in the unit.you are just looking for excuses to not pay the additional extra persons that you added and for the parking that you agreed to pay because you arrived in the middle of the night all the free parking slot are occupied but instead you left without paying. 4.As you said,you saw the notice in the elevator,but ignored it.I did not see this notice because I seldom visit the place.But you made it a big issue to give you excuse not to pay.Again the guards offered you to use the shower room in the pool area so you dont have to bring water up.but because you see that as an excuse you made it a big issue.I also have another tenants the same time as you which I have not notified because,how can I notify them if I do not know it.but they did not complain like you did. 5.Other Staycation owners should not accept you as guests because you are just causing problems and looking for excuses not to pay your obligations. I AM SO MUCH DISAPPOINTED. You are a disgrace to other good guests that have stayed on my place.So entitled and so stagy.

Verified reviewThe owner of the property was responsive, that's it.
The place is not totally clean -- there were cobwebs, coackroaches, etc. The fridge was also very disappointing... when we rented the unit, it was dirty and came with items from the previous tenant. The parking is also first come, first served. The owner doesn't have his own parking -- you have to go to SOGO to park, which is also not paid by the owner. The guard asked us to leave the property as the parking space was meant for SOGO tenants. And when you need your car back to the condo from SOGO, YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ALONG MARCOS HIGHWAY AND GO INSIDE THE RESIDENTIAL MARIKINA AREA as you can't counterflow on the highway -- super stressful. Also, the place is really small. There were 7 of us, and there was not enough space for everyone to sleep at the same time. OVERALL, never going back.
I am sorry you felt that way.I will take it positively to improve our service. You did not tell me that the sogo guard talked to you,I always pay them when I have a guests parking in sogo.I could have talked to the guard. I will also inform my cleaners about tour comment.They must have clean thre place in a hurry and forgot the little things.Again. I appologize for our mistake. And lastly,you dont need to go along way from sogo to Bali,cars can drive in the sidewalk to go to the bali entrance.btw did you take pictures of the cobwebs?coz I cant see it.
