How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewI loved the vibes, and the Wi-Fi was really reliable, which made staying connected super easy + they have motorbike & car rental.
There are people nearby who was too loud, and we could clearly hear it from our room.

Verified reviewI really liked how clean and well-maintained the room and the whole area were. The bed was very comfortable. The owner was friendly, and they had a cute dog that felt like a little guard for the hostel! They helped arrange an airport van transfer at a very reasonable price. The staff were also very friendly, and I liked that they offered motorbike and car rentals too.

Verified reviewThe owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. The room was spotless, and I especially loved having a private bathroom such a great feature for added comfort and privacy. The location is also perfect everything is within walking distance, making it super convenient to explore the area. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewHands down, the best accommodation in General Luna! We stayed for 4 nights with friends, and it was everything we could have asked for. The place was super clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the area. They also offer car and motorbike rentals, which made getting around so much easier. The staff, especially the young lady who welcomed us, was incredibly friendly and always eager to help with recommendations. Plus, the Wi-Fi connection was strong, so we had no issues staying connected. It really felt like a home base for us. If you’re in General Luna, this is definitely the spot to stay!

Verified reviewThis hostel in Siargao is fantastic! The manager, a cute little girl, was so friendly and accommodating, making my stay that much better. The room was clean and just as shown in the photos. Helped me plan my island tour. Everything is legit, and I felt well taken care of during my stay. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Siargao!

The room was not only peaceful but also very cozy, which allowed me to unwind after a full day of island adventures. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to get a good night's sleep, something that’s always important to me when traveling. Even though the hostel is centrally located the noise level was minimal, and I felt like I had my own little retreat. The staff was incredibly accommodating and made sure everything was perfect. They were always there when I needed something but never intrusive. I also really appreciated the hostel’s clean and well-maintained rooms, fresh linens, and convenient services like motorbike rentals. The location is ideal, being just a short walk to everything you need, but the quiet room was a perfect balance for both relaxation and exploration. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who values peace and comfort in a prime location! I recommend to the management to incorporate their policies in the booking.com platform. Like the policy of free change of towels every 4 days else additional charges will be demanded. This was not present from the property policy when we booked the property at booking.com. but upon check in, this is part of a handful other policies you have to agree before a guest can be taken in.

For this reason, we offer complimentary towel changes every four (4) days, and any additional changes are available for a minimal fee to help cover laundry costs. To ensure transparency, we sent a copy of our house rules and guest agreement including the towel policy prior to your check-in. These rules were also presented and signed upon arrival. We trust that guests take a moment to read through the agreement, as it helps us maintain clear expectations on both sides. We’d also like to share that Booking.com allows property owners to include additional house rules, provided they are reasonable and clearly communicated. The Wi-Fi was strong, and the staff, especially Ms. CJ and kuia shar, were super friendly and accommodating. The air con was turned off each time we went out in the day. The room would cool quite quickly when turned back on but still not ideal.

Verified reviewSlightly away from tourist street in General Luna which meant a little more quiet. Motorbikes for rent on site was really convenient. Close enough to the port in General Luna that you could walk fairly easily.
Two things. The door was a sliding door that didn't seal all the way allowing bugs/mosquitoes to sneak in. The room had a solar light which you couldn't turn off after dark without asking the front desk for a separate remote.

We’re also glad you found the location peaceful and appreciated the convenience of having motorbikes available on site. We also sincerely appreciate your constructive feedback. We do have mosquito screens installed to help prevent insects from entering, but we understand that it may not have felt completely sealed during your stay. We kindly remind guests to keep the door fully closed at all times, especially when going in or out, to help minimize the chance of insects entering. That said, we’ll still look into how we can improve this further to ensure a more comfortable experience for all our guests. As for the solar light, you’re absolutely right, power interruptions do happen occasionally here on Siargao Island, often without prior notice. To ensure our guests are not left without light during these times, we’ve installed solar-powered lights in each room. These can be turned off using a remote, which is always available at the reception. We’re sorry if this wasn’t made clear during your stay and will do a better job of explaining this to future guests. Your feedback truly helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable stay in the future.

Verified reviewGreat location. a little away from the crowds, in a locals area with lots of good restaurants and shops. Good Wi-Fi signal and a table and chair in the room were especially important to me. The staff is very kind and friendly.
Problems with cleanliness. For example after check-in I washed the sink in the bathroom myself. The mirror in the room looks like it hasn't been washed for many years. It was difficult to see myself in the mirror.
