Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesI had a bit of a disappointing experience at Sunlit. I lost my shirt in the drying area on the first day and it couldn’t be traced, and the next day my shorts were also moved in another hanging area without letting me know. It would be better if guests’ things weren’t touched and if there was CCTV at the back to help trace missing items. I hope this area can be improved.
Staffs were friendly and wifi connection is strong. They also have activities.

United KingdomThe social events didn’t really give the family feel I thought they would, however did meet some nice people in the dorm rooms. The receptionist did play loud music around 7:00am which could be heard in room 1. We had to be up early, but would be annoying if you didn’t.
The pool was so nice!! Perfect for the really sunny days we had. Location was a little bit out of the way, but really easy to get tuktuks at the end of the road if you don’t drive a scooter or are planning on drinking. The lights around the streets are non-existent so difficult to walk anywhere at night, but we did find a cut through to get to happiness hostel area in around 5 minutes. Toilets and showers were clean.

Germany- The rooms were a bit crammed and a lot of the lockers were broken (apparently that was fixed shortly after I left). The ladders for the upstairs bunks were also not great as they were missing a last step so that a shorter person like me always had to jump down from the last step. - Some of the staff were either strange (not serving us at the bar while facetiming friends; coming into the rooms without knocking or saying anything to turn of the lights or close the blinds in the middle of the day even though there were people inside) or plain rude (telling my friend to just leave after she complained about the state of her scooter; making sexual remarks at guests). They were also quite unhelpful when one had questions (couldn‘t even tell me where I could do my laundry or rent a scooter after they has run out of scooters)
- The pool is brilliant (the best in any hostel so far) and a great place for socialising. The upstairs chill area is also nice (ping pong and pool table). - There are daily activities but sometimes only a few people showed up and they were cancelled since the hostel is quite small (3-4 dorms and 2 private rooms I believe) - The bathrooms were always very clean. - After I had a scooter accident they provided me with Betadine and cotton to clean my wounds and let me stay in the room a bit longer after check out - The owner is very nice and has great plans for expanding the pool area with a bigger bar

AustriaWe met with the sweetest hosts man could ever wish for, always smiling, helping with everything, giving the best tips around the island. There were always some fun activities they organized for every day. The common areas were cleaned several times a day. The pool was super clean and tidy all the time. The bar's prices are really budget friendly. You can rent scooters for 400PHP a day, but if you afraid of driving, the tuk-tuk stationing right next to the hostel. Mao-Mao surf school is just right across the road.

IrelandWe find it hard to fault this place. Maybe the addition of a toaster in the kitchen but this is by no means a big deal :)
We stayed in this hostel for one week as a couple in a private room. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. There is a great vibe in the hostel with plenty of facilities such as a bar, pool table, ping pong etc. the introduced there new pool the week we stayed and we both agreed it was one of the nicest pools we have been in while travelling south east Asia, clean and with a fun basketball hoop! As there was kitchen facilities with an electric hob, we were able to try save some money by cooking our breakfast at the hostel each morning. This was really helpful while budget travelling. The property was a quick 5 minute scooter ride to Cloud 9 and General luna. For us it was necessary to rent a scooter but the location was not an issue for us as we knew of the location when booking our stay. Lastly the staff were all so friendly, the bathroom was kept clean and the hostel provided free drinking water.

PhilippinesThe matresses aren't the best, they were very soft.
There are a lot of great communal spaces, like a kitchen, a rooftop woth pooltable+bar and they are also building the swimmingpool area right now. The staff organizes an event every night, so there is a lot of oppertunity to meet fellow travellers. The rooms and bathrooms were also very clean!

Hong KongFacility and location are excellent. The staff is really nice and welcoming. They played a lot of table tennis, billiards, and karaoke with us. You can do a lot of activities here during rainy days, and you will also meet many new friends. The 24hr hot shower is a luxury item in the island. I enjoy my stay in Sunlit.

United KingdomEveryone was so welcoming and friendly. It’s located in a good area where all the main attractions can be accessed easily. All the workers were super kind and helpful throughout my time at Sunlit, especially Reg. She helped me book my ride to the airport when it was late and she should’ve been home. She also had amazing vibes and was happy to join in with some of the games. Very thankful and would definitely go again!

PhilippinesIt more than my expectations.
I loved my 7 days in sunlit because it felt like home. From the owner who is very informative of the situation when the power cut off (i stayed for 7 days with the blackout in the whole island, thank God for the Solar Panels) to the amazing staffs mel, raf, reg and the ate's who maintain the cleanliness of the place was the highlight. Im a solo traveler but it felt like I had a family for a week in sunlit. I even cooked once breakfast with people I met in the hostel, it's a place to meet fellow travelers. They care and assist u with everything and the location is just perfect!

IrelandOne of the best hostels in Siargao for a reason. The staff are very welcoming and make a big effort to include everyone. There's something in every night from quizzes, to beer pong and family dinners. Great upstairs with a bar, table tennis, pool, darts and chill out area. Beds were comfy and very private. Shower and toilet area were private and well maintained. Aircon was good in the shared dorm. Social hostel without being a party hostel.
