Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe road is a single lane dirt road with lots of pot holes. If you have a vehicle that doesnt have a high ground clearance, you just might be scraping the road

AustraliaLots of Niknik (sand flies) and we had a couple of blackouts during our stay, which isn't the fault of the resort. We just had some bad weather. I would urge you to bring insect repellent before you come
Resort is very nice. The staff are amazing and always looked after you

GermanyIf you drive, make sure to take the correct rough road, which is the middle one between the north and south roads and takes about 15 minutes. Otherwise, you might damage your car. The AC was out for an extended period due to a power shortage, but there were fans powered by a generator as a backup. I was also billed for additional food that I didn't have.
There's a nice beach where you can spot big fish between the rocks, and there are some interesting jellyfish as well, though there are no corals.

AustraliaALERT!!! 🚨 Do yourself a favour and do NOT book at this location. The main reason is the number of sand flies in the area. Basically, you’ll end up being forced to spend most of your days inside your room that can only be described as very basic. The “resort” is definitely not worth the money you get charged. The price point should be more around AU$ 60 per night, not the AU$ 153 we paid. The day tours advertised are in fact not doable due to the remote location of the resort. We tried to book 2 of them and both times we’ve been told it was not possible to arrange transportation. You’ll end up getting stuck in a “hotel” with very limited food and beverage options (the menu looks extended but, once again, when you try ordering you’ll find out that many options are not available). Food is passable but definitely the worst I had in the Philippines, and portions are also very small. 🛑 🚑 NOTE: I’ve found myself forced to cut my stay short due to the number of sand flies bites. My body was fully covered (photos attached) and I had to get medicine to stop the swelling/pain (last photo are my legs after 2 days of having left this resort and received medical treatment) My idea of a holiday is definitely not being in bed, trapped under a mosquito net for days..My husband and I had no options but to leave earlier and the manager of the property refused any sort of compensation. We ended up having to move to Puerto Princesa and paid for another accommodation. Very disappointing. I understand we made a very bad decision when selecting this resort, and it was totally our fault. I would have stayed there the entire trip and sucked it up, but the fact that it was physically impossible for me to stay there, well I think we should have been given a refund. Since our return I contacted Booking.com customer service but, after many phone calls and emails, all I have been able to obtain is compensation for 1 night out of the 3 we had to cancel

GermanyThe road leading to the hotel was very rough—about 7km from the highway, making it difficult to access. There weren’t many activities offered, such as island hopping, which was disappointing. The food options were very limited, and the staff often had to run to the market to get supplies, causing delays. Additionally, the room had a lot of mosquitoes, there wasn’t much water, and our laundry took three days to return—and it was still wet! On the positive side, the staff were friendly, but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the overall experience.

PhilippinesIt's a poor value for the money. You can get WAY more for what they want to charge per night. If it was 40-50 dollars per night that would be reasonable. 100+? No way. -The "purified" water tastes terrible. The worst I've tasted in the Philippines. Not sure if it's even purified. We only stayed 2 nights and once I left I got sick. -There are dead jellyfish all over the beach and live ones in the water. You can't swim unless it's low tide because of all the rocks. -There are an insane amount of sandflies. If you don't know what those are, they're like mosquitos, but smaller and more of them. They carry diseases like malaria and dengue and the facility did nothing to mitigate them or warn us it was going to be a problem. -There's a long bumpy , single lane, dirt road to get there and it's in the middle of nowhere, so finding bug repellant once you're there would be a huge hassle. You're 30 minutes from a main road, then good luck finding a store from there. -Brownouts mean there's no aircon in the middle of the day sometimes. The electric fan was so cheap it would stop working if you moved it the wrong way. Then you'd have to fiddle with it until it would work again. This place is 100+ dollars per night. -The bathroom smells like old urine. Like no one ever cleans it properly. -The floor felt like it was made of metal and not cement. So it was easy to stomp around and vibrate the whole place. -The bed is basically 5 inches of the softest foam you've ever felt. I don't even think it was bedding foam. It didn't hurt my back, but it felt very cheap and uncomfortable. -Poor wifi connection, no mobile data from our carriers, which might be a plus for some people.
-Avocado shake -Food -Scenery -Seashells -People working there were great -Secluded and not a lot of other guests... for a reason...

RussiaI think they have to add some food options. Some drinks and cocktails.
Beautiful staff. Before checking in they messaged me, offered a transfer from the airport, and offered dinner while we were going to the hotel. Perfect wild views. It's a really wonderful place. I don't like fish, but Their fish is amazing. I really recommend this hotel especially if you want to spend time with your wife/husband.

PhilippinesStaying at Surya was an absolute dream. The location couldn't have been more perfect. Having direct access to the beach made our stay incredibly convenient and enjoyable. Waking up to the sunrise, the sound of the waves, and stepping onto the balcony to witness the breathtaking views of the ocean was truly an experience. Glad that I found this on Booking.com! We can't recommend this beachfront place enough. Thank you too to the host for being so accommodating!
