Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It is not the cheapest but might be the best in seaside. The staff was also nice and friendly to us. They say, in this place, everyday is sunset, and they are right. Amazing view in front of the sea especially sunset time. We got many photos with unforgettable memories in there.

United KingdomThe steps to our loft room were crazily deep - needs to be more steps! Quite dangerous going down. There was construction work going on right next to our room which we weren’t warned about. They only sold wine by the bottle.
The beauty of the place exceeded our expectations. Beautifully stylish and appropriately rustic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I needed to see a doctor and they quickly sprang into action to sort it. The airport transfer was very good too.

HungaryThere's nothing I didn't like.
I was stuck in El Nido with my family. Due to the wind, all boat services were canceled for days. The Beach House staff and especially Mrs. Jess moved mountains so that we could arrive in Coron and continue our vacation with my family. Arriving at the accommodation, our breath stopped. The place is perfect for relaxing. The interior of the room exceeded our imagination. Spacious and comfortable room. But what made our stay perfect was the staff. They did everything and even more to make our time there perfect.

PhilippinesWe liked everything!
Probably the most beautiful boutique hotel I’ve ever been to in the Philippines. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room had the beach view and is breezy throughout the day, no need for AC! The staff was very accomodating and everything was well though of. They take note of all the small details that will make your stay memorable and hassle -free.

AustraliaIt's quite a distance to actually get there, with the final 15 mins down a very narrow dirt track. You have to pay a tourist tax to enter that part of the island, not a problem, but would have appreciated the information so I had cash available. Tours arranged by the Beach House appeared to be very expensive, no option offered to just pop to a nearby island, only a full package with food (very expensive). We just walked down the beach and got a local boat to the island. Food was ok, we're both vegetarian and felt options were a bit limited. There are not enough sunbeds around the pool. Reading reviews and responses from the international owner, they appear to market themselves as a 'bali style' beach club, where you visit for the day and can pay to access the facility with a credit against food and drink. There are 7 (I think) sunbeds, so with guests in 4 X bedrooms (let's assume 8 adults) plus a couple external guests paying the daily access, where would everyone sit? We were lucky as there was a family of 5 during our stay and only the parents used the sunbeds, the kids swam and played all day. The beach is nothing special and the sand is narrow and the tide goes out quite far. Communication is a little confusing. Send them a WhatsApp message, the response is 'message us on Instagram', sent them a message on Instagram and they ask for your WhatsApp number.
The facility is gorgeous, with smooth concrete floors and a very relaxing lifestyle. Our room was lovely and very clean and comfortable, totally open to the outside, so the breeze blowing through and the ceiling fan kept us cool. The place is smaller than I expected with only 4 bedrooms, 3 in the main building (2 upstairs and 1 downstairs) + a villa style room a few steps away. Amazing sunsets and a very warm welcome. Use their transport to get there, it's cheaper than trying to organise your own, unless you're on a motorcycle. Black island is very close and well worth visiting, amazing beach and limestone cliffs with caves. There is a sunken Japanese ship just off the beach where you can snorkel with ease.

United KingdomThe only small thing was the food was a tiny bit expensive, although it was absolutely delicious - there aren't other cheaper food options close by. So perhaps a couple of cheaper food options :)
An incredibly relaxing, welcoming stay. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel part of their family. A little slice of paradise in rural Philippines! The food was SOO good! Beyond amazing.

SwitzerlandThis place turned out as a beautiful paradise and peaked our trip to the Philippines. The Beach House itself is stunning, located at the end of Ocam Ocam Beach and provides a very calm, relaxing and unique experience. The design is lovely and matches the scenic setting perfectly. BUT it is the extraordinary level of hospitality that would make our stay unforgettable. Both Zara and Marion are exceptionally great hosts - they have read our wishes from our lips and before we could ask for anything, it was already there. Chef Zara has spoilt us throughout our stay - since we have been there for a week we have had the chance to taste ourselves through her exceptional culinary world and we were blown away. Marion has made sure we were always entertained and taken care of. It is a level of service that we have never yet experienced - they manage to combine outstanding service that you would expect in only a few high-end 5* hotels with the cozy, family-like atmosphere of an island paradise. We have stayed at many places all over the world but this one is a true diamond. We left speechless and with many great memories - we came as guests, turned to friends and truly felt as if we‘d become part of the Beach House Family.

United KingdomPlease note that you pay way more on cars to drive you to and from the property as it is so far. The hard rain caused the ceiling and windows to start leaking in my room. All the staff did was bring towels to soak the water. As they knew I was super anxious they started to play music from downstairs, by reception but I didn’t help. There was just a couple other than myself who stayed at the property who left that morning and I was told that other guests who were meant to stay had to cancel because of flight delays. This meant I’d be the only guest at the property which added to my anxiety. As a solo traveller, I decided I had to leave as I feared being stranded completely. With the little to no signal and weak wifi I ended up booking myself at another hotel in Coron city where I stayed for the remainder of my trip. I felt WAY more comfortable and safer at the new proper even through the harsh weather. Although booking.com was happy to give me a refund. The property refused to see all the issues I raised and kept saying that they wouldn’t at least give me a partial refund for the nights I didn’t stay because my reason was that I “changed my mind” - what?! It was condescending and I took offence when they claimed i didn’t do my research, which I did. My heritage is Filipino; have lived through typhoons and have stayed in multiple hotels/resorts of various ratings. The property tried to give me a travel fund but they ruined my trip and I would not go back nor recommend friends or family to stay there so I have refused this. I’m yet to hear from management or owners with even an apology - at this stage they can keep it. I hate to have written this but I am extremely disappointed. Especially when I spent and lost so much money.

United StatesWhile the house has a lot of style, it is a very small property with limited grounds and the small, unheated pool as it's only amenity. We are familiar with Palawan prices and felt the pricing of this property would be in line with other boutique resorts if it had more to offer - even if it were just a beach that you could swim in. The beach here is not the clean, white sand beach you see in other islands like Boracay. We chose Palawan because we do not like crowds and prefer doing island hopping expeditions. We just didn't feel that the pricing of this property matched what you get. The food they offer is really good though pricey (expect to pay what you would to dine in an upscale restaurant in Manila). It may be inexpensive for European tourists but just know there are similar prices places that offer more.
Don't get me wrong, the beach house is a cute little gem of a place tucked far away from where tourists frequent. It is very stylish and is pretty clean, save for some bugs here and there. It is very private and affords one a quiet retreat from touristy beaches in the Philippines.

SwitzerlandIt's so extremely remote and there is nothing to do besides being in the room and by the pool, The Beach isn't very nice, there is a lot of Algea and trash. There are toura you can book, but they are very overpriced. In general the hotel is not in the best condition and overpriced.
It is very calm and the rooms are designed comfortably. The staff went to great lengths to ensure a nice stay. The food was good.
