The temperature of the pool is too cold, they could also come to pick you up from the airport for a cheaper price. The surrounding road is quite loud and you can hear the tuk tuk and cars at night (however they provide earplugs)

The hotel has a very good location, right in the city centre. The facilities are excellent, especially the private island which is complimentary.

The TV in our room wouldn't connect to the internet so we weren't able to use it, but it wasn't that big of a deal to us.

Their staff was very attentive and proactive with our needs & wants. The location is walking distance from the strip and a short drive to the island hopping and other things to do. Beautiful room & amenities.

The location was close to the main beach street. The pool was great. The room was clean and very modern. The food was great. The private Papaya beach was like paradise and well worth the boat trip. Most of all the staff were superb and couldn’t be more friendly and helpful with anything.

Breakfast was open at 6 but the egg station was not there until later. I only got eggs one day, ( I'm an early breakfast kind of person) Some days there were no towels at the pool when it opened. You can just go and ask for one though. Two minor niggles, but with everything else on point, it would be good to see these consistent too.

My welcome was personal, they knew my name and continued to use it whenever they saw me. My room was big, the bed was so comfortable and perfect, not soft but not too firm. The mini fridge with complimentary drinks, there were bandanas and a tote bag as gifts too. All these details showed they went a little extra for their guests. On check out you got a woven bracelet and a box with banana bread in. The breakfast had a good selection of choices It's an easy walk to the waterfront and shops, but far enough away to be quiet. They were able to organise trips for you and had a free van and boat transfer to a private beach. .

The only negative thing about our experience had nothing to do with the hotel, there was just terrible weather during the trip!

The room had lots of great amenities available - from flip-flops, to spare toothbrushes, to bandanas, to tote bags! The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, helping us get tricycles to go to different destinations, and making suggestions for where to go inland when the tours were cancelled due to bad weather. Great spa too!

Food. I understand that you’re aiming this type of customers in general but I personally would prefer more varieties of Filipino dishes as when I’m coming to Philippines to eat your food not European. Other then that everything was great.

This is truly a great hotel for the area. While there was some road noise, it’s something you’re likely to encounter anywhere nearby, and it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting El Nido!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Funny Lion! The rooms, designed like cozy cabins, were stylish, comfortable, and well-appointed—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The pool area and jacuzzi were fantastic and really added to the resort feel of the place. The food was another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and consistently excellent throughout our stay. It’s clear a lot of care goes into the dining experience. Breakfast was great and lastly the staff were excellent!

The hotel was very clean and the reception staff were amazing from start to finish. Special shout out to Val who always greeted us by our names when we came in the hotel! Breakfast is full of options and they offer a variety of services and even a tote bag and a bandana as a merch that you can take from the room! The swimming pool was a must, so definitely a highlight! Conveniently located close to the hotel bar where they even had live music some evenings! The hotel is a 2 min walk to El Nido city centre! we would definitely be staying here again whenever we go back to Palawan!

Stayed at the funny lion for 3 nights and loved it. The hotel is very well located and the staff is super helpful and friendly, thanks to Val and Vincent for everything! The hotel beach is also one of the best beaches I’ve been so far, stunning.
