How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Verified reviewThe hotel is satisfactory, and the staff is exceptionally welcoming. The breakfast is quite delicious; they really know how to cook a good omelet, and the rooms offer ample space with effective air conditioning. Overall, the stay is pleasant. The prime location in the heart of El Nido is a significant advantage, with easy access to everything, including island-hopping tours that depart from the nearby beach.
While the location is indeed advantageous, there appears to be a notable concern regarding its proximity to a forest, which could potentially result in insects and other wildlife entering the rooms. The hotel's open-air design may also contribute to this issue. It might be prudent to consider a room that faces the street to reduce the chances of encountering such problems. Additionally, the value proposition of the hotel may not fully justify its current pricing.

Verified reviewThe hotel has a very good location, right in the city centre. The facilities are excellent, especially the private island which is complimentary.
The temperature of the pool is too cold, they could also come to pick you up from the airport for a cheaper price. The surrounding road is quite loud and you can hear the tuk tuk and cars at night (however they provide earplugs)

The TV in our room wouldn't connect to the internet so we weren't able to use it, but it wasn't that big of a deal to us.

Verified reviewThe location was close to the main beach street. The pool was great. The room was clean and very modern. The food was great. The private Papaya beach was like paradise and well worth the boat trip. Most of all the staff were superb and couldn’t be more friendly and helpful with anything.
Could do with more space for luggage in the room.

Verified reviewMy welcome was personal, they knew my name and continued to use it whenever they saw me. My room was big, the bed was so comfortable and perfect, not soft but not too firm. The mini fridge with complimentary drinks, there were bandanas and a tote bag as gifts too. All these details showed they went a little extra for their guests. On check out you got a woven bracelet and a box with banana bread in. The breakfast had a good selection of choices It's an easy walk to the waterfront and shops, but far enough away to be quiet. They were able to organise trips for you and had a free van and boat transfer to a private beach. .
Breakfast was open at 6 but the egg station was not there until later. I only got eggs one day, ( I'm an early breakfast kind of person) Some days there were no towels at the pool when it opened. You can just go and ask for one though. Two minor niggles, but with everything else on point, it would be good to see these consistent too.

Verified reviewThe room had lots of great amenities available - from flip-flops, to spare toothbrushes, to bandanas, to tote bags! The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, helping us get tricycles to go to different destinations, and making suggestions for where to go inland when the tours were cancelled due to bad weather. Great spa too!
The only negative thing about our experience had nothing to do with the hotel, there was just terrible weather during the trip!

Verified reviewFriendly staff, rooms clean enough and nice. Location is convenient and close enough to the beach. Though the surrounding of the hotel is not nice at all and the photos don’t show that.
The place is massively overpriced for what it offers. Everything offered inside the hotel from massages to food is also at a significant markup to average locals prices ( 50% to 100% markup).
