Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It is such an amazing contrast to the blue quiet waters of the beach in station 1. You walk up a small road and enter a very serene, quiet place with a nice garden, surrounded by tall trees. Its like a little forest sanctuary after a hot day by the beach. They have a group of amazing and friendly staffs. The place is like a refuge after a very hectic day at the beach..

The people working there are so sweet. Helped us with everything. The vibe within the compound is relaxed. Beautiful room (penthouse) and not too far from everything.

CanadaPenthouse did not have separate bathroom - separate toilet stall, separate shower stall and sink was outside. That setup is ok for a small family but maybe not so much with friends or unfamiliar people, or just those who prefer more privacy. In the shower stall, where do you keep towels and change of clothes? There was one hook inside. We had to put a chair outside the shower stall just so we could put our clothes somewhere (where it wouldn't get wet). Shuttle destination was limited. Pool was closed so we were sad about that.
Breakfast selection was really good. AC was good, Free beach towels was awesome. Shuttle to Dmall was good. Beach was nearby! Shopping mall, while small, was also nearby. We were compensated for pool renovation, so that was a plus.

PhilippinesRight upon arrival, we were stunned by how lovely the resort was. It was quiet and relaxing and only a 2min walk from the beach. Our family suite was very spacious and clean. All staff members were kind and accommodating, and they offered free transportation during certain hours. The breakfast was delicious as well.

PhilippinesIt is a bit farther to the central area of stations 1 and 2 but the upside is that it is quieter and a lot more peaceful. Just hop on an e-trike to get to tour desired destination.
Quiet and very relaxing atmosphere. The place is surrounded by lots of trees and nature. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The resisdent dog, Girly, was very friendly and welcoming.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. It’s an oasis away from the hustle & bustle but only a short walk down the beach or a 5 minute complementary trike ride to D-Mall. So clean, lovely staff who call you by name, good breakfast, great pool. Great water pressure showers. Honestly you will not regret staying here.

We loved every bit of our stay with The Strand. From the moment we arrived, how the staff treated and looked after us, the peaceful vibe of the boutique resort, to the staff’s cheerful and kind aura, all of it made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Shout out to Ped for assisting us with our tour queries, the 2 ladies from the kitchen (one is a trainee and one is hotel staff, forgive me if I forgot the names) for being so lovely and kind to us whenever we would dine at the Mahogany cafe, and to the chef for cooking beautiful breakfasts for us. To the reliable security guards and of course, to Girlie who always waits for us at the gate every night and walks with us back to our suite, thank you to all of you and see you guys when we go back.

CanadaAlthough it was very convenient that you can walk to White Beach and Diniwid Beach, still have to take an e-trike to DMall. There is a shuttle service to DMall but only available until 6pm. We enjoyed going to DMall at night so we had to get an etrike to and back. Not expensive though - about 300 pesos return.
We stayed at the Penthouse unit with 2 separate bedrooms (one bedroom with king bed, another bedroom with 2 twin beds), separate shower (one room), separate toilet (one room), big living/dining area and kitchen. It has a balcony with seating. Overall, the penthouse unit was very nice, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed coming back to our unit after a hot day outside. Everyday breakfast was really good with varied choices from Flilipino to American, from light to heavy. I am a big coffee drinker in the morning so to have unlimited brewed coffee was a big plus to me. Best part of our stay was the staff. They were all very helpful - from the reception (Dess, especially) to the restaurant (Rob, Pete (only guy in the restaurant, I know his name starts with P but I seem to forget now), cleaner (Kelly), shuttle drivers, security guards. All were great! Not beachfront and an easy walk to the beach. If you want a quiet place, you’d love this place.

United StatesThe fact that I had to leave.
The grounds were near-perfect. The buildings, landscaping, pool, and patio are all top-drawer. However, that is not what makes the Strand Boutique so special. It is the people. The staff is AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful; I didn't feel like a guest; I felt like family. I ordered special services and dinner for my wife's birthday, and the staff did an outstanding job making that evening very special. I did not want to leave.

United KingdomInsects- but you shouldn’t be surprised because the environment is very green! They have lots of insect killer lamps in lounging areas. Not beach front- but this was a conscious decision. You cant get the greenery surrounding and have the beach view at the same time.
The total vibes of a homey rest house. Aesthetic is very much to my liking. 🌴🌿 They have well maintained yard and the pool is being cleaned every morning! We are lucky to have booked the family suite room, just above the restaurant and beside the pool 😁 even if the sun is high up, trees and plants are effective to give shade. Also, waking up to the chirping birds is just so relaxing. Food is good for the money as well! All the staff are friendly and really helpful. In-house dog Girlie 🐶 is a bonus for pet lovers as she is very sweet and friendly, too!

PolandChoosing this hotel was one of the best decisions during our trip. After the hardships we experienced in other locations, this hotel allowed us to recuperate, relax and not worry about anything. The hotel grounds are beautiful, full of trees and other plants, peace and quiet. The room is clean, spacious and the staff is the nicest I have ever met. The hotel has its own shuttle bus to town which we used, but actually the beach and stores are within walking distance. The hotel also helped us book transportation to and from the airport, so our trip was extremely easy. We are really satisfied and the days spent here were the best for us in the Philippines.

United StatesNothing comes to mind.
I was very pleased to find The Strand. First and foremost, the staff from check-in to the restaurant to housekeeping --- truly an asset to the resort. They were trained well. Was impressed that they made a point of remembering our names to address us when they greeted us. We very much appreciated the cool welcome drinks and also, that the room had been cooled sufficiently when we arrived. The whole property was kept clean, from the room to the public areas. The location was perfect - in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds but a 2-minute walk to the beach. We looked forward to taking our meals at the hotel because our surroundings allowed us to really relax and enjoy the meal. The free shuttle to D Mall is a welcome benefit. Wi-fi is indeed complimentary but noticed that it could be intermittent at certain times of the day and depending where in one's room one is trying to access it. Since we were on vacation, it was not a big deal. The TV didn't just serve as decor to the room but allowed us access to several stations, particularly if we were curious enough to find out what was going on in the rest of the world. One suggestion I wish to make. We were assigned a room where our bathroom looked out into a wall "well." Noticed that there were quite a few dead leaves, decomposing, coming from the trees outside, which had settled on the window ledge and the floor. Maybe, that could be cleaned ever so often. The Strand really made an impression on us that if only for the opportunity to stay here again, we would consider going back to Boracay.

United KingdomThe Strand was an excellent place to stay, its away from the hustle and bustle of the busy hotels but close enough walk to White Beach. All the staff at The Strand were amazing, friendly and welcoming. Rob in particular was very attentive, even remembered our names and chatted with us. The resort is different to the other hotels on the Island, its away from a busy road and located next to a cemetery which was not an issue at all for us, as the e-trikes used to drop us off outside the hotel. We would recommend this hotel, it’s affordable, tucked away but easily accessible to the beach.

United KingdomCannot fault a single thing.
Our stay at the Strand was an absolute DREAM. We were really lucky, and got a room upgrade by chance, which we were so appreciative of. Our room was so spacious and comfortable, with a separate living and sleeping area, and all the amenities such as a mini-fridge, kettle, and TV. Undoubtedly, one of the best things about the resort was the staff, who were incredibly helpful and attentive, and put every effort into making our stay exceptional, including cleaning our room while we were at breakfast. We cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. The breakfast included with the room was also amazing, with delicious and healthy options. The pool area is lovely and there is a paddling pool and a bigger 6m depth pool. The resort is in station 1, so a little way away from the main area in station 2, but this was perfect because it was so quiet and peaceful. There is also a hotel shuttle you can take into town, or the staff can arrange a tricycle for you if you need to go elsewhere. You could also take a stroll down the beach to restaurants and bars, which is a 2 minute walk away and has the most incredible sunsets. Overall, our stay far exceeded our expectations and we want to say a massive thank you to the staff. We most definitely will not forget this trip!

SlovakiaNothing at all. There is a construction next door but that's not the hotels fault and once done it is back in normal again it wasn't too intrusive however
This is a true gem! - The location is fantastic. It is close to the beach (3min walk down a small street) - The hotel is in a small garden with nice trees in front of your patio. - The restaurant is great, the cook is even better! (really just to have him prepare some fish is a delight) - The manager went above and beyond to help us. ( Even coming with us to the hospital when our son got fewer, and on another occasion came with me to show me the fish market) - The rest of the staff is friendly really nice to talk to and they always had a few nice words to our 4-year-old boy, some of them even played with him a bit which was really nice and made us feel at home. - The restaurant serves as a coworking where I worked daily on a stable internet connection. We rarely consider revisiting a location as the world is big and wonderful but this place will stay in our hearts and we will come back!
