How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewVery friendly and polite staff. They all try and help you immediately to make your stay pleasant and most important: They respect your privacy in this hotel! Quiet rooms, very very clean! Very comfortable beds and pillows. Spacious bathroom.Rich breakfast and a big selection of coffee to choose from 3 different coffee machines.Even different types of cups to choose from! You could keep access to the patio 24/7 for us smokers 😉 because yes, we are the bad guys and need it 😁 We enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back! Verified reviewPerfect location near the center, easy underground parking (110 plz), a nice building and a cozy courtyard, dogs accepted (100 plz), very clean.
We booked superior double room with a large bed. The room had two separate beds covered with one sheet. It was no problem to change the room. However the bed in the next room “the large” bed was very small, 150 cm wide. Since we arrived late we did not want to bother to ask for a third room. The second bad surprise was an extremely uncomfortably hard mattress. Air conditioning started ventilate very loud at 4 AM, we did not succeed to switch it off. The room had a bathtub with a glass wall instead of real shower which was presented in the photos for a superior room. There was only instant coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was basic, missing nicer presentation and better quality products (fresh orange juice, white cheese, better quality croissants or tomatos). Tables were not set up with tableware. No indication that it was possible to choose a la carte an omelet or maybe other dishes. Suggestion: if at the reception it would be explained about the facilities (e.g. twin beds/king bed, shower or bath etc) in the room being attributed, everyone would avoid frustration.

The shower temperature gauge was broken, meaning there was only ice cold water at first. After we called the reception, the technician came quickly - he was friendly and competent, but it was clear that the bathroom infrastructure was old and seemed underinvested. He could at least get the water a bit warmer, but you could not adjust the temperature further otherwise it would be boiling hot or ice cold again. Then at breakfast, the rather young and seemingly friendly personnel was running around clueless. They didn't see when things were running empty at the buffet. Our pepper mill was broken, it was impossible to get someone's attention - in the end we took it from another table. Also other guests were joking about the personnel's ability to ignore everyone in the breakfast room. The breakfast itself was okay, but not the quality and choice you might expect. At reception, personnel was okay but not as professional as you could expect - English was not optimal and they seemed largely unexperienced.

The furniture in the room is a bit old and the facilities are definitely not of a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was ok, you could find what to eat, but not what a 5 star hotel should have. You had to wait a lot for a table to be cleaned so that you can sit and if something was finished on a plate you had to wait even longer from them to bring again.

The food service in the bar on the ground floor was poor. They forgot to bring salad, despite additional request. Breakfast was OK. The tap in the bathroom could not be switched to shower.
