How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The balltrap all morning, no air conditioning so you have to keep the windows open so it's very noisy. Toilet paper never available

We were not told that reception is open 24/7, this would have been very helpful as we have stressed a lot as almost missed the reception closing time.
We only needed a bed to rest for the night. Not the best choice, but enough to rest. Breakfast was fine, scrambled eggs, ham and salads with bread.

It was in middle of nowhere. Not even sign posted properly and down a stoney lane behind garages. It was like a prison room for handle wasn't even secure and you could hear the gun shots from a shooting range near by. I didn't feel safe and the staff where not even helpful so I left the property after only being there for a short time as I was so nervous an couldn't stay here for the 2 nights that I had booked. So I booked a new apartment an left. This place was so old even the plug sockets in the room. Would not recommend this place to anyone. It says they have a restaurant yet we asked when it opened as we hadn't eaten as we travelled for 3 hours in the train. The reception told us it might open in an hour as we are busy with a function and they all need fed first as they are priority😡
The reception sign and desk was the only modern part of this property

There were several problems with our stay. The person at the reception on the day we arrived did not speak english, so the communication was a little difficult. The location is far from the center and it was difficult to reach. The dirt road that leads to the hostel is severely damaged which can be harmful for your vehicle. The price was more than twice the value we paid three days earlier for a different hostel in the center of Wroclaw with better conditions. The keyhole of our room was slightly damaged. Some bedsheets were dirty, as well as the toilets. The showering area is separated from the rest of the room by a curtain (there is no door), which massively impairs privacy. The shower doors were also damaged, and water was flowing to the outside. The beds were extremely unconfortable because the size of the mattresses exceeds the length of the bed and thus they are tilted on your head and feet. Furthermore, the bed structures are old and make loud metallic noises everytime you move or sit/get up from the bed. Finally, the blinders on the windows were very thin and the room becomes completely lit in the morning even with the blinders closed. These last few points made it very difficult to get quality sleep for more than a few hours in the evening.
The checkin and checkout were fast and effortless, and there are additional services at the hostel like laundry machines and restaurant. Also, there is a private parking lot in case you want to reach the hostel by car.

rooms need heavy rennovation , very old , extremely small especially bathroom, zero sound isolation , you literally hear everything from outside , no towel in room, no glass , no soap , basically there is nothing except a bed
nice to have 24h reception and receptionists were helpful + free parking
