Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Someone parked in our parking space and had to complain to security the last couple days, we had to park in the front as visitors. The wifi was not the greatest. But overall, it's a nice place.

Shower handle is taped. Needs to be fixed. Apartment is great. Could use frying pans.

Steps / but I got my steps in!
Property had basics of a AIR BNB. KITCHEN , 2 baths plenty of space. Also has private parking.

Modern, clean, spacious. Washer/dryer were very handy. Great views. Neighborhood felt very safe. There was a playground nearby.

There was no on-site vending machine but there was a gas station conveniently walking distance down the street.
Great space for the amount. And close to the beach.

Wish there was a better way to contact the owner without using the booking.com app, it’d be better to text them through WhatsApp
The location is wonderful and it’s very close to old San Juan and la placita.

The front glass doors leading into the building were cracked so it scared me a little at first.

Our room was switched but it was still ok. Bathroom could’ve been cleaned better. No view at all from our room.
Avila is a central location to a lot of things in PR. We were able to walk to the beach and La Placita. Neighborhood is super safe and quiet for the most part. And staff stocked the house with a lot of necessities.

Just that the tv only turn on but would not chace the roku channels

I didn’t like how small the sink was in the bathroom but that’s not a deal breaker. And I guess if I has to say something bad the lack of elevators but we did choose to stay there knowing that so just the sink. Lol
Perfect location….one review said it looks and seems unsafe but it really is safe and I would agree100%. It was literally a 4 minute walk to La Placita. There’s a gas station not to far. Maybe a 10 minute walk to the beach and shops and tons of restaurants. There’s air bnb didn’t have an elevator but we were on the first floor so it wasn’t too bad I think all of there homes are walk ups so if staying in an air bnb I would recommend traveling a little light so you don’t have so much to carry. There’s air bnb apartment was big clean if I could live there I would. 10/10 recommend. The host was also very nice to allow us to check out late due to our flight being delayed (for a fee of course but worth it)

Only stood one day, I'd come back and stay longer to explore the east side of the island. Couldn't find the remote for the tv, rooms great just not queen sized beds. More like full size. Otherwise everything else was great ohh and downstairs the door to enter in the garage is cracked like someone banged on it and broke the glass on both doors.
The location was great, quick 4min walk to la placita. The place was clean and cool and spacious. Balcony was also a nice touch.

The bed made a lot of noise.
The location was great, and the parking space was so helpful. It was close to the beach, walking distance from a grocery store, and an easy drive to Old San Juan. The kitchen was useful.

We didn't quite know where to put our full trash bags.
The location was really great, less than a ten minute walk to a main street with many restaurants as shops as well as less than a ten minute walk to the beach.

Listed as having two bathrooms but only had one. Beds were full sized, not queens. Space was tight. Owners gave a small refund when I inquired about the errors in the listing.
The apartment was reasonably clean. They provided plenty of clean towels, bed linens, and pillows. Owners/management were quickly responsive to communication. Easy walking distance to restaurants.
