We got the sense we were bothering the owner, like he wasn’t happy to have guest, like we were intruding. He was helpful in giving directions and letting us store bags but always seemed annoyed at the same time.

In 12 days, we stayed in 4 accommodations and this was the only place that had a blanket (vs just a sheet) and I slept better here than anywhere else. It also was the only place that provided soap and coffee. The little things make a huge difference!

The location is near roosters that are quite loud. This is more of an observation and may be the same in other facilities. Just be prepared to be awakened early.

The owner was nice and welcoming. He takes pride in managing the property and was helpful with finding restaurants, etc. The location is walkable to several nice restaurants and a boardwalk.

Pool doesn't work Chickens from neighboor's farm are very noisy indeed, and smelly too (around the pool you can smell it a lot) Price was 10% superior to our booking

This place is a great, but it also bohemian. If you're looking for the latest updates in hotels, this isn't for you. I like hotels that use new definition of "boutique hotel" in style and sophistication. This is boutique in the sense that it's small and independently operated. I know the difference and didn't that to adjust much. I will say that there was no real privacy in the bathroom with a loose gliding door and an open ceiling. The water pressure in the shower is lacking, but it wasn't a problem for us for one night.

The location was perfect for us. We didn't rent any transportation, so it was important to be in walking distance to the beaches, restaurants, etc. This was exactly that. Skip was very hospitable and accommodating. From the roosters calling, to horses and dogs walking free, to the beautiful beaches, delicious food and friendly people...we'd go back in a heartbeat. Tortuga Guesthouse would be on our list of places to stay again!

There are numerous chickens in the neighborhood and they like to squawk at all hours of the night. We were in a two bedroom, two bathroom room. One of the shower heads was broken (apparently by a recent guest). The manager did point this out and handled the situation well.

The owner was a bit gruff, but did refund the extra $100 they overcharged over booking’s price The pool was nice, but I think the chlorine level was too high as I got a burning sensation on my genitalia every time I used it, and other pools did not do that.

One shower isn't working, and the other shower curtain doesn't stay. Too many roosters outside the hotel making it noise.

There is coffee provided!! Two rooms are great for a family of 4. The host is very friendly and he let us use the beach towels outside of the facility with deposit.

Since is a beach town, it will be nice to have a place to dry clothes or a place to do laundry.

The place is closed to restaurants, there is a small market around the corner to buy food. The room has a microwave, a coffee maker, toaster and a small fridge. No place to cook other than microwave. We purchased cold cuts and made sandwiches to take to the beach as most beaches we went to had no food for purchase. Make sure you take all you need. The owner made available to us beach chairs and towels. Back to the room...The bathroom is spacious and have soap and shampoo, plus towels. The bed was comfortable, good air conditioner and there were extra blankets in the drawer. Rooms have flat screen TV plus cable. There is also a table and chair. The pool is nice with pool towels available. The pool is surrounded by fruit trees, the mangoes were delicious. The owner made available to us some clippers to cut the fruit. We found the room very comfortable and will stay here again.

Loud cacophony of crowing chickens (many walking wild all over town) all day and night. Property also neighbors on a property that keeps caged ducks. Highly recommend ear plugs to have a good sleep.

Location was easy walking distance to the beachfront where restaurants and activities were located. Host was friendly and helpful. Comfortable room. Amenities were good.

The rooster started to sing too early in the morning but I guess people can do nothing about it.

The outdoor space is nice, but the smell (because of the hens) is not the best. However, it is a beautiful place to stay

The location is perfect. You can walk to the downtown of Esperanza (full of bars and restaurants). Our room, “Gem”, was very nice and clean. The decoration is beautiful and welcoming, feels like home. The owners were GREAT! they gave us amazing recommendations and tips to explore the island. The place also provides beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, bodyboards… it was a really good experience. I would definitely repeat if I visit Vieques again
