How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The apartment is dark and needs maintenance. But it was clean and everything worked. Eg…refrigerator, stove, sinks, bathrooms AC, and lights all in good working order.

One of the bedrooms only has a small ac unit and it wasn't able to cool the room. Bathrooms have no ac or ventilation.

Verified reviewThe apartment was very comfortable and spacious, better than expected. Plenty of hot water and the beds were very comfortable.
The process of the check-in was confusing since the beeper for the entrance gate was not in the indicated location, however the host was right on top of it and ensured that we got checked-in in a reasonable amount of time.

Leaks in the hallway bathroom and under kitchen sick, kitchen was not clean, beds were not that comfortable and the outside of the building and the hallways looks unkept. Did not take photos of lobby or building.

Verified reviewI like the location. The size of the apartment was excellent. The view from the apartment was good. The apartment is very peaceful. Excellent security.
The counter top of the kitchen need to be fix. There was a leak in the kitchen. The size of the bathroom curtains were small. Water run out of the shower. The internet didn't work the las two days. The building need to be painted. The machines at the Gym didn't work.

Verified reviewUpon arrival, I loved that the community was gated and with security which were helpful. The property appeared to be in great conditions and very well kept. The apartment was spacious and well furnished. All amenities in the apartment were kept up to date and working in good manner. The view was amazing for the beach and the hills.
I would have to say that wooden furniture in which the wifi router was placed on could be removed, due to not flowing with the living room. I would recommend that the sliding glass door be maintained and lubricated. In addition I would suggest that the A/C vents be cleaned periodically. I don't know if it was somewhere available, but a broom and dust pan could have been useful due to the sand when coming back from the beach.

Verified reviewI am from the town of Isabela so to be back in my hometown was a treat. The apartment is in Playa Sardinera which is a beautiful beach and which also has a very nice tropical and local night life with kiosks and restaurants.
When we arrived to the apartment, we opened the door and the smell of dog and mold was overwhelming. All the windows were shut tight from God knows when and the air was just rank. We had to go buy a can of Febreeze and opened all the windows and doors to try to get rid of the smell. The couches had dog hair on the cushions and smelled like dog. The worst part was when we went to bed. The pillows, sheets and duvet all smelled of sweat, dog and sun block. And I don't mean that they had a faint scent. They reeked!!! The bed was properly made but whoever handles the cleaning did not change or wash the sheets used by the previous people who stayed there. We had to go back to the store to buy detergent and drier sheets to wash the bed sheets and duvet. I texted the owner to mention this to him, completely understanding that he does not live on the island so he cannot supervise the person or company that does the cleaning. His response was to thank me for giving him the information and that this was the third time he had received a complaint about the cleanliness. The third time! Call me crazy but I would have fired that person the first time. I would not have waited for a third customer to complain. Other than the complete lack of cleanliness, the apartment is ok. The sound of the waves is perfect for sleeping and the apartment is quiet.

Verified reviewThe communication with host is very difficult. Does not answer telephone. When I called booking . Com and reported it, then, he Willa answer text message. It says there is free internet and is NOT so. The master room tv did not work with the internet. The king size bed had “ácaros”. Made you itch.
Hi, thanks for your review the Internet in the apartment was working properly and we have 2 new smart tv that are connected to the internet and was all good. The king bed is practically new, we can not find any Acaros but we perform a professional fumigation every month by a certified company that we hire.

Door knobs need fixing and air conditioner of one of the back rooms makes a loud noise. Needs a little bit more of TLC.
