Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNO ONE answered the doorbell during regular check-in hours (and apparently SEVERAL other guests had the same issue). I had to contact Booking and wait outside forever before finally being able to get in. However, once I got in, everything was smooth for the rest of my weeklong stay... EXCEPT... for one tense moment when a staff member informed me (in the MIDDLE of my reservation) that the hostel would not be able to honor my entire reservation due to an alleged error with another group's reservation. And instead of taking responsibility for the error, the staff member tried to minimize the inconvenience and costs I'd incur in finding last minute reservations. Even if the reservation error was (allegedly) the other guests' fault (as the staff member explained it), I thought it was quite unfair to stick the consequences on me. I get that I was a solo traveller and the other group was a big group, but I had reserved MONTHS in advance precisely to avoid having to find last minute accommodations. THANKFULLY, someone higher up showed up and worked out a solution in literally like 30 seconds, lol. I had to sleep on a pull out couch my last night, but I didn't mind at all since I'm an easy sleeper and had to leave early for the airport anyway. Honestly, I also just appreciated someone providing actual solutions rather than useless platitudes. OH, also the WIFI didn't work during the whole trip, but it's hard to tell whether this was more of a hostel problem or a Puerto Rico problem. TO HOSTEL MANAGEMENT: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS WONDERFUL FIX THE PROBLEM OF NO ONE OPENING THE DOOR TO GUESTS DURING YOUR ADVERTISED CHECK IN HOURS. IT SEEMS THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM FOR BASICALLY EVERYONE AND IT'S A TERRIBLE FEELING TO BE LEFT OUT IN THE STREETS. THIS IS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION AND IT'S A BAD FIRST IMPRESSION FOR BASICALLY EVERYONE.
This is honestly one of the NICEST hostels I've ever been to in terms of cleanliness, design, comfort, and aesthetics. Seriously, this place went way beyond my expectations in this regard. It's also in a spot in Santurce that is far enough from the most touristy spots but still centrally located. If you want to experience San Juan for the city itself, this is a great spot.

United StatesI didn’t like the fact that they had growing mold in the sealing of the single bathroom and not much ventilation.
I liked that I felt safe coming in and out. I liked the rooftop. Also, the bed wasn’t uncomfortable. I liked the single bathrooms sink.

United StatesEntrance is weird, no sign of the hostel. Communication is not so great, check in after 6pm is self check in but they don't tell you that. I have US number so I called them and they send me sms for directions for self check in, so there is no staff after 6pm. Wifi doesn't work, no hot showers, it's ok for 1 night or two!
Location is good, closer to the beach and bus stop right infront which will take you to the airport. Beautiful interior - lot of place to chill. Nice kitchen & terrace. Beds were comfortable, plenty of bathrooms. Restaurants around the hostel

United StatesThe windows in the room we've slept were very dirty. The host didn't walk us around the property, she just gave us a key and showed our beds.
The common space is cozy and spacious. There are enough of shower rooms at the property. They have nice roof top.

United StatesI had a top bunk on both dates and I had late arrival times. It felt weird waking others up to get up there.
I liked the location. It was ideal to get from the airport and back for my short stay. I will be back when I stop through again.

United KingdomThe WiFi didn’t work the whole trip so don’t rely on it. There was also a rooftop bar which was closed the whole time and seems like it’s passed its prime so it needs a bit of renovation.
Great little hostel right in the centre of San Juan. There was great facilities and well kept

United StatesI was on the top bunk in the 4 woman room. I had trouble getting in and out of bed - even with an additional ladder! I should have asked about a lower bunk.😔
Location and atmosphere. Your staff from 3/1-3/2 were pleasant, kind, and very helpful. Jade (Jada??) was wonderful and put up with my sleep deprived questions. Bless her.👍🏼💐🌞

CanadaPretty noisy - people aren’t mindful of the noise at night. Wifi didn’t work the entire time we were there or would only work in one spot of the shared living room. It was disappointing considering that hé high score for wifi on booking We didn’t see any staff the whole time we were there
Great location in Santurce Our private room was pretty good Shared areas are great, especially the roof top terrasse Overall I would book again

Sweden- staff with "I do not care" attitude - no wifi - bed capsules with no light or shelves - cramped dorms, no space, like a prison - low water pressure - cold or too hot shower
- clean - close to bus stops, supermarket and cafes - nice terrace - big kitchen - lockers, locked doors

United StatesThe only con like most hostels is the noise. That room was right next to the kitchen where there was a swing door that you could hear open and close. The door in the room also closed loudly. Also wish they had the curtains on the beds so it would be more private
The hostel looked beautiful. I stayed in the 4 women bedroom and we had our own private bathroom we all shared. One wall was painted a dark green which I liked all of the decorative design. I would get back from the beach around 2-3pm and always saw the nice girl with short black hair cleaning and she did a great job.

United StatesDue to the beach goers not properly cleaning of their beachwear unfortunately their is a small beach mite problem. Besides that you do receive a very clean bed.
The property was really clean and well managed. It’s located in a great location surrounded by many restaurants, gym and supermarket near by. A 15 minute walk to the beach or a 5 min bus ride. The nightlife is also nearby which I would highly suggest.

Canada1 shower is out of order leaving only 1 for the rooms without a bathroom, but it wasn't busy when i was there so wasn't a problem.
Loved the kitchen its a decent size with decent pots and pans it even has a coffee machine. The hostel is really cute and has a lot of different areas available to work in or just socialize in the kitchen area or lounge. Its downtown and only a short walk away from La Placita the main nightlife area or a 30 minute walk from a good part of the beach.

United StatesThe private bath didn't have hot water in the morning, but I don't mind a cool shower once in a while. My travel companion had a hot shower in a the shared bath.
We found a fun spot for breakfast, 10 minutes walk. Lots of restaurants nearby. The hostel was clean and had great amenities including rooftop to enjoy the evening air. Our private room with bath was cozy and comfortable, with great a/c.
