10/9/2024 - Unit's indoor temperature was 86* upon 5:30pm arrival. I promptly called the owner. She was in Florida anticipating hurricane Milton and forgot to reset the temperature prior to my arrival. It took over 48+ hours to reduce indoor temperature of 72*. First evening at unit was unbearably hot and humid so I slept at a relative's home. 10/10/2024 - I returned several times to check the temperature status. By 8pm, it was finally safe and comfortable to occupy the unit. So, I headed to the dimly lit bathroom for a shower. The tub was painted, but peeling, so there were no bathing options other than a shower. The shower head was new but when the handheld portion was removed, it pulled the showerhead pipe out of the wall. The colored towels were mismatched but in good shape. Colored washcloths were a mix of actual kitchen dishrags and washcloths. For sanitary reasons, towels and washcloths are usually white and washed with bleach, so this was cringe-worthy. I headed to bed and noticed foul smells on the bed pillows and shams. Uncovered, the pillows were badly stained and putrid. I promptly put them in the washing machine with bleach to sanitize and remove the stains. 10/11/2024 - At morning, I headed to kitchen for coffee and breakfast. Duct tape was used to repair peeling veneers on several kitchen cabinets - quite unsightly. The dishes were greasy. All Teflon frypans were scratched and gouged - making them unsafe to use. I did not know the glass carafe in the coffeemaker was damaged with a 2" chunk of glass missing from the lip of the carafe. I cut my hand while removing it from the coffeemaker. The power went out for 3 hours, but I was able to occupy and sleep in the unit. 10/12/2024 - Power went out again for 12 hours. I stayed and slept at a relative's home due to the heat humidity. 10/13/2024 - Unit's temperature did not return to 72* until late evening. I returned late to...

Here are the owner's instructions for obtaining the key for the unit: "Head to second floor and then walk towards the end of the hallway to unit 303. The lockbox is located inside of the door at trash closet. If you're looking at the front door the trash closet is to your left. The lockbox combo is ‘XXXX’. We suggest you always leave the key so that you don't lose it. Lost keys may result in re-keying of property and guest will be charged accordingly. PLEASE DO NOT leave food on counters (even bread crumbs). Doing so will invite ants. In the event this happens know we keep spray under the kitchen sink to keep those critters at bay. Leaving dishes clean and food in refrigerator is best." I arrived after dark. The trash closet contained 2 lockboxes. Both were already preset to the lockbox combo ‘XXXX’. One lockbox was ajar and already empty. The other lockbox contained the key. As I entered the unit, I wondered who had the other key? This was very unsettling since it was late evening and I was entering a dark unit, alone. The building contained about 20 units. There was golf cart and only one other vehicle in the parking lot so the building appeared generally unoccupied. The unit's indoor temperature was 86* upon arrival. See more comments about this problem below. There was an overwhelming sewer gas odor in the unit. I located the floor drain and filled it with water to resolve and block the sewer gas odor. Dresser drawers, sink cabinets and air return vents were not clean. Dishes had greasy fingerprints, and Teflon coated pans were badly scratched and gouged making them unsafe and unhealthy to use. I loaded them in the dishwasher along with the tableware but had difficulty with starting the cycle due to a faulty 'ON' switch. Furnishings were updated and the unit was supplied with minimal paper towels and trash bags. Luckily, a small grocery store in the complex was well stocked.

Everything was excellent! Air conditioning; Clean, steps away from private pool (access control and body-guard), across the street from Wyndham Palmas hotel, quiet, calm, very relaxed atmosphere, 24 hr surveillance.
