Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLocation, very few restaurants nearby. Felt quite isolated although a shuttle was available to Portimão old town and also the beach.

IrelandThe lady at the bar (Valentina )each day was rude, and seemed bothered by each request, a real pitty as she is the only thing letting a great hotel down, in addition. The hotel says ask about allergens but when we asked the lady at the bar she shouted NO....
Clean hotel, nice rooms, cleaning staff and reception staff are lovely, can't understand why it's a 2 star should be a 3 star.

IrelandWe liked everything, except Mrs. Waleria at the restaurant. She was unpleasant and shouldn't be serving customers. This wasn't a one-time thing, but rather every day. That's why we went outside for breakfast and a few dinners. Delicious breakfasts were served at the "Funky" restaurant next door on the main street. I recommend it.
We liked the decor, lots of greenery and you can hide on the deckchairs in the shade.

HungaryThe only minor downside was the location — it’s a bit far from the beach, so you’ll likely need a car to get around.
A very clean and well-maintained hotel with modern and comfortable furniture. Most of the essentials were available. The free parking right at the hotel was a big plus. Although we didn’t have time to use it, the pool looked nice, and there might have been a bar as well. The staff were friendly and helpful — when we noticed there weren’t enough towels, they promptly brought more upon request. Overall, excellent value for money and we had a very pleasant stay.

United KingdomThe apartment is a bit dated and the bedroom and bathroom are quite chilly and had no heating in winter months.
The staff are all very friendly, helpful and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them, Shuttle service to the beach and town centre is an added bonus. Location to supermarkets and town all within walking distances. Valentina the breakfast lady was superb, always smiling and helpful.

United KingdomNothing, everything was as hoped for.
Really lovely receptionist, he dealt with everything efficiently and with ease. Other staff we met, from the cleaners to the breakfast staff, were also very friendly. The hotel should be proud of it's welcoming staff. Incredibly helpful to have their free car park just across the road. Really lovely suite of three great rooms, with a kitchen area, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, table and chairs; a lounge area with sofa's which double as beds, and a big TV; and a really large bathroom with good quality towels. Sadly, in the bedroom, there were twin beds on either side of the room which we weren't expecting. But we soon pushed those together!! Comfortable beds, very peaceful location, so we slept well. Breakfast was a little strange. I'm guessing the hotel wasn't that busy, and that we were two of only a few guests. Hence, we were given individual plates, with two rolls, one crossiant, one cake, meat, cheese, butter and jam. Plus a coffee was made for us. I'm guessing this is not normal practice. But it was all very nice and enjoyable. It is only a short walk from the hotel to the beach, and also, into town for the shops. We would stay here again as it is a great location, and the hotel is very nice.

United KingdomOnly problem was this hotel became fully booked for the festival we were going to and we noticed that the hot water could not facilitate this. We had one day where we had no hot water for showers and others when the water was lukewarm. There was also someone doing construction in the building next door which wasn’t a great wake up alarm during the week days… Hotel couldn’t help this though and did offer us to move rooms however the room we were in was best.
Good property, suited our purpose perfectly.
