How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewA very special place, super comfortable and so much to enjoy. We came to decompress and relax after boom festival. Stayed for 3 nights. We went in the sauna and steamroom, we had a massage, the breakfast is fresh and excellent. We went out to feed the animals. The room is big, beautiful and royal. The bed is a dream. It’s great for kids, will come back when we have them :-).

Verified reviewThank you for the vacation! Very nice hotel, away from the hustle and bustle and civilization. Great attention to cleanliness and details. My son and I enjoyed scratching a piglet behind the ear and swinging on the swings. For breakfast there were homemade rolls, several kinds of cheese and charcuterie, 6 kinds of delicious jams, yogurts and juice. Very friendly hotel hostess, we enjoyed our vacation. Near the hotel are picturesque surroundings, you can run to the lake along the river, there about 10 km. I think we will return someday for a longer stay.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Helena is lovely and very friendly. The location is only 7 min drive from Castelo Branco. I’ll definitely return!

Verified reviewThe animals! A great place for the family! The rooms and very comfy beds! The selection of snacks and drinks. Most of all the pool and spa.
It did seem a little expensive compared to other places in the area.

Verified reviewThe animals the rooms abs the vibe and even the price is not that bad in general I enjoyed my stay and the shower and bed are very good
The breakfast have very limited option don't even have eggs , and you need to tell them in advance when you want to use the Turkish bath or sauna so will be hot when you want them , you can't just go when you want Also from booking you can't understand that some of the rooms are in a shared space so I recommend to go o. We are Genius level 3 this year and have been in many places. The compound is in the middle of nowhere 10 km outside Castelo Branco. The pool is really small and when another big family is in the pool the whole day from mornings till closing it is ridiculous to think we will be relaxed there. Especially if there are multiple babies and toddlers. We just had to leave there to have some comfort. We paid very much per night and we did not want to be there, there is no place to go to where you can relax except for the small pool. The breakfast was not good. The first day there was very little bread only 3 slices and they were hard and dry. The toppings were warm and simply insufficient. The second day we brought our own bread and food to the breakfast. Bread was better the second day, but same problem with the rest. This time the owner was there and that was a big improvement over the day before, but still not good. We ended up spending the day at the public swimming pool of Castelo Branco where you can relax on the grass in the shade and swim. Another thing is that in one of our rooms there were a lot of mosquitos, we killed around 20 of them, but still the kids got bitten a few times each. The other room had no mosquitos.
Mister Genius level 3, I would recommend you, in a next reservation, be careful to read and visualize the photos referring to the accommodation in advance, and that you try to understand the concept of the space... Naturally, the location, the pool and the rest of the infrastructures, cannot be changed and adapted to the taste of the guests. In case you want to have the whole place just for your family, you always have the option of renting the whole house! Regarding breakfast, you may not appreciate freshly baked bread and organic products from the farm itself or from the region, but this fact is very explicit in our communications – we avoid serving processed products in favor of a healthier diet and that preserve the sustainability of the region. Regarding mosquitoes, you should have noticed that all exterior doors have doors with mosquito nets..., but for them to fulfill their purpose, they must open and close immediately.

Verified reviewBreakfast was very good with a selection of homemade preserves, eggs if you liked, and all served by the very friendly helpful owner. The location was a bit isolated but well worth the extra drive.
There was nothing that we did not like. It was a great stay.
