Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaAfter all, the Bungalow is still pretty tight. Without the terrace it wouldn't feel that comfortable. When it started raining, we felt quite locked into a small room. We had the Bungalow for a whole week and the fact that it was neither cleaned once — nor we had the possibility to clean it, except for an old broom — is quite sad. At the end it felt dirty and we were happy to finally leave (which is quite sad, because after all the place is really great!). But BY FAR THE WORST ONE - and the biggest reason, why I couldn´t give more than 8: THERE IS NO AIR CONDITION. In the hot and very humid climate, that is actually a big No-Go. We had to open the window all night, and then heard a lot of loud birds nearby, which made sleeping way more uncomfortable. With an air condition, the other few things also wouldn´t seem that bad. So after all, we were happy. But there´s still space for improvement at Azor´Oasis.
The whole complex itself — with the garden, the private possibility for scenic sunset views, the lovely terrace and the Beach access — is really wonderful. We were also very happy with the stylish Bungalow, the kitchen we used regularly — and the fact that we got more than enough towels. The room was also totally clean when we arrived.

SpainThe bungalows get rather warm during the day and it can get cramped when it rains as the terrace's roof does not stop the water. Also, you need a car to get there. But all in all an amazing spot.
Truly impressive location by the sea, with access to the sea through the common terrace. Calm, with just the sea at night, and easy car access to main roads and supermarkets and restaurants. Communication with the hosts was easy and effective and the place is easy to find.

NetherlandsWhen it was raining, the terrace was not waterproof, so you could only stay inside the apartment. It would be much nicer if the terrace had a waterproof ceiling and not only the beautiful cane roof.

AustriaThe warm water in the shower didnt always work. And the hot tub from the picture was not (yet?) in use.
The location was very beautiful. The owner organized a private night/sunset on the beach for all his guests, which was very thoughtful. The little house was very cute and clean, and the bed very comfy.

United KingdomThe rain, but that was not in Paulos' control :-)
Paulo is a fabulous host. Communication was excellent. Meeting at the property full of information on our stay and places to visit, with suggested itineraries and places to eat. The rain meant we could not maximise the accommodation with a small terrace and BBQ also on offer alongside extended gardens that led down to the sea. That said, the kitchen/dining space allowed for relaxation. A comfy bed and large shower space, and plenty of inventory in the kitchen allow for easy self-catering. Would recommend without hesitation.

Czech RepublicThere was no warm water in the shower and kitchen.
Paulo was extremely helpful in many aspects. He helped to reserve a car rental, gave us in advance very helpful advices about interesting sites on the island and upon arrival insisted that we get maximum of our stay. The place is almost in the middle of Sao Miguel, thus you can get easily to all sites of the island. It is only 30 min drive to the airport, nearby Ribeira Grande town where you can do your groceries.

Great location from where to explore Sao Miguel. The communal outside area was fantastic, with the highlight of the stay being able to enjoy the sunset from the jacuzzi. The owner Paulo also took his time to get us set up and provided us with great tips and itinerary for different day trips.

CanadaThe bungalow was a bit tight especially as we had two large suitcases and carry-ons.
Great location. Paulo was an excellent host and was very helpful with his recommendations for sites to see on the island. He also helped arrange a car rental for us that picked us up at the airport.

United StatesOverall our stay at Azor'Oasis was absolutely great! The tiny house was comfortable and the facilities were just as described. The hot tub was unfortunately not working during our stay. This location is a bit off the beaten path, but we didn't mind traveling to go places for dinner or out and about.

United KingdomThe view from the room towards parked cars and other studios. An air con would have been useful. The jacuzzi was broken and there was very little space on one side of the bed.
The location by the beach was nice and it was good that there was a little kitchen.

United StatesWe truly loved everything overall! One minor thing that might just be good for the hosts to know is that the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent (sometimes it would just get very cold or very hot without touching the handle in the middle of showering), but we were able to manage and still enjoyed the nice clean shower with good water pressure.
Azor'Oasis was truly an oasis that we enjoyed coming home to after exploring the island each day. It was such a lovely and peaceful property, and our individual bungalow had everything we could possibly need and more! Paulo, Anabel and their son were warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and attentive hosts. Paulo even created his own map of the island with sample itineraries and recommendations for his guests! Prior to arriving, Paulo already went above and beyond by helping us book a rental car for the 5 days we were there, and helped make sure we could still pick up our car after regular business hours when our flight in was delayed by 4 hours. We so appreciated everything they did to make us feel at home. Without a doubt some of the best hosts we've ever had, and we are truly thankful! Everything in our bright, clean and modern bungalow was perfect except for one night when we saw a huge centipede or millipede crawl on the floor, but having lived in Hawaii, sometimes little critters get into your house. Not a big deal! The garden, jacuzzi area and other common areas that we didn't end up using were all great and add to the charm of Azor'Oasis. We loved walking around and hearing the waves crashing against the lava rocks, and watching the gorgeous sunsets! This place is such a gem, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat the next time we visit São Miguel island! Muito obrigado, thank you so much for a wonderful stay in the Azores! We will recommend Azor'Oasis to everyone!

PortugalThe view is incredible, and it was a great experience to be in the jacuzzi and see the sunset. The facilities are pretty comfortable and clean and I found it super cozy. For some days of vacations with my partner, this property made everything more special. The owners are also quite nice and friendly.

GermanyPaulo was an absolute superb host. He informed us about the best things to do on the island. We had not any plans in advance so all the time we did things on the island that he proposed and it was absolutely awesome. He also helped us with reservations for activities and even let us sleep in the bubble for one night (there is a little bubble hotel-like room on the property). The garden as well as the view at the pool is super beautiful. The little homes are cosy and equipped with everything you need. We highly recommend this place :)

United StatesWe were completely happy with the property and with Paulo’s generous help!
Our cottage was modern, clean, and comfortable. The property grounds were beautiful and well maintained. A wonderful touch was allowing each cottage a night of privacy in the hot tub/ ocean view area. Paulo went above and beyond before and during our stay to make us feel valued and pampered from helping with reservations for our rental car, whale watching tour, and anniversary dinner at a local restaurant to making us feel at home in our wonderful cottage and on the stunning ocean side property.

FrancePaulo has created a very smart and modern environment. Note that the studios do not all have the same view. Ours was the last one with full view on garden which was perfect. The Jacuzzi is obviously the big plus. It's shared with a rotation plan for private evening(s)/night(s) and works perfectly well. Just note that there are no bars/restaurant in the village so you need to drive or eat on site which is also fine.

SpainThe mattress was too soft. The mosquito nets on windows had some holes, that big insects used to get in, so we had to close the windows. Temperature then was pretty high inside and had to use the fan all day long. A bit hard to regulate the temperature of the shower, it went from cold to smoking hot in one second. The hot tub outside was not working as there had been some strong rains some days before. :(
Nice quiet area, direct access to the public beach of Poços das Calhetas. Capelas and Praia do Areal de Santa Barbara easily reachable by car.
